Positive day today. Past issues not going to be fixed straight away, but. New management team, New styles, 3 good signings, perhaps one more. Southampton were the better team and we matched them today. Stats say that it takes a new manager 18 months to bed in . let's be positive

Let's McLaren saw what we saw and addtesses tje CB sutuation with a quality strong CB who cal also head a ball

Collo & Mdemba for first game together did OK and encouraging with another defender coming in it can only get better
First not so good day for Janmatt who os normally sound
A bit of tinkering before Swans who like Southampton have come pn leaps and bounds

Some hard work on the training ground this week with an eye on the 2/3 players we need cam make it more positive than in recent seasons.

I think everyone has to admit the football we are playing is so much more attractive to watch, refreshing to see us confidently (mainly in the 1st half) playing out from the back.

Perez, Aarons or De Jong need to start next week ahead of Obertan

For FS give it a chance man
Pathetic defensive errors AGAIN cost goals
A definate improvement against a better team who could have scored 4 on another day and can tacke and pass (hope Shsteve learn't something)
A draw instead if a win sounds familiar.
See the next 3 games JT until you tell us all
how good we are now!

So you don't think that we're playing better football?

As I said its not going to be fixed overnight vida, give it time what were you expecting a 5-0 win with Mbemba and colo to play their first game together perfectly and click straight away?

Agree15 Disagree23

09 Aug 2015 22:20:58
Its a point more than I was expecting at this stage of the season. If we can't deal with crosses I think it highlights the fact that we need wingers also. southamptons full backs had nothing to worry about. I bet they were as surprised as we were that obertan got a cross in.

Tell me vida, how am I getting carried away?

10 Aug 2015 08:39:01
i don't accept mediocrity vida, I am patient and willing to give time and back SM's decisions 100% and I saw yesterday that there were more positives than negatives. Played some good football, got a good result and after recent years for a lot of the fans that will have been a shock to the system. time to try and get a result at swansea which will be an even tougher game imo.

Agree9 Disagree19

10 Aug 2015 11:26:22
Swansea will be a test payed some decent football yes and some stupid football and what can you expect when the team have not played together.

McLaren must be blind not to see we need urgently a CB who has quality can head a ball and a DM the standard of the top 12 clubs and get rid of Obertan Cisse and Anita Gouffran and Williamson and repace them qith quality (he might just do that) as results will put unnecessary pressure on him.

A point is more than I expected and it could have been 3.

Agree18 Disagree3

10 Aug 2015 14:10:21
Keep Anita and Cisse then get a CB, winger and possibly left back then we're sorted. Anita can do a job and Cisse seems to always get goals and looks much better in team play under McClaren than he was under pardew. Need strength in depth

Agree6 Disagree18

11 Aug 2015 09:46:32
I thought Anita did a tidy job but that isn't enough in this formation. I would like to see wijnaldum in his spot with de jong or sissoko at 10.

I'm not sure what sissoko offers out wide, yeh he gets space to run but he can't cross. that means janmaat has to come up to get the cross in and he gets caught out of position too much.

I agree I'd like to see de Jong start next week. With Sissoko McClaren says he's been given a free role out wide, I have a feeling we'll see the best of him in that position

Agree2 Disagree10

11 Aug 2015 12:12:34
Yes that is looking at it the right way
Anita plays accross the park no thrust no shot no idea at times.

Haidara very inconsistent today, new left back needed as well perhaps.

Good game good result ahainst a better team
FFS get a CB and now
Obertan OK but needs replacing Tiote a must instead if Anita

09 Aug 2015 15:29:56
Anita had a good game give him credit where its due, tiote when he came on just wasn't mobile enough and was always getting caught out of position and left gaps in midfield then southampton started to dominate us

Agree15 Disagree22

09 Aug 2015 17:35:44
Hi Is hopeless plays accross the park snd there are much better players out there snd we need one

If your happy that's OK I'm not

Don't know what game you were watching if you thought Anita was crap

Agree11 Disagree21

09 Aug 2015 20:24:00
Were you at the match JT?
Anita is average he plays and will play because he is Diuch

Agree19 Disagree8

09 Aug 2015 21:04:41
I was watching the game via stream, clearly a different game to the one you were watching there was no way Anita was average today.

Agree9 Disagree20

09 Aug 2015 21:17:31
He might be an average player but why can't you give him credit where it's due? He did his job well today, we were in control until he got injured, and tiote was no where near as good as him when he came on, lost his pace and we started to lose the midfield battle.

We got a good result today, quit the negativity.

Agree8 Disagree20

09 Aug 2015 22:12:32
Playing two holding midfielders we need more creativity. Anita did nothing wrong but it is almost like playing 6 at the back and 3 in midfield when we attack. I don't see the system making the most of our resources and I'd prefer to see perez and aarons utilised as they work hard to track back and create.

Agree14 Disagree5

10 Aug 2015 07:09:55
That's the difference JT you accept mediocrity and he s average some of us do not.

Agree18 Disagree4

10 Aug 2015 07:29:23
JT you say yourself he is average. I suppose Obertan had a good game BOTH are not good enough if we want to improve.

Agree18 Disagree4

10 Aug 2015 08:28:34
Thats all the point I was making vida, I might not like a player but that doesn't mean to say when he's had a good game he perhaps deserves a start next week if he's fit

Agree5 Disagree17

10 Aug 2015 11:30:15
My point is we should have and hopefully will have better players Why make excuses for the poor players when have Anita Obertan Gouffran Cisse Williamson, we all know their capabilities.

You might as well defend Williamson as he gives his all but is out of his depth.

Agree16 Disagree1

10 Aug 2015 14:11:22
Williamson gives it his all but produces no good performances, Anita did yesterday that's the difference

10 Aug 2015 15:48:17
They should not be at this club man. Get yourself on the terraces and listen to the fans who actually pay go to the matches!!!!!

Most of them agree with me that Anita had a good game

10 Aug 2015 21:18:51
Fools you mean Anita did OK because we have no one else and he shold do OK he cst 8m & with a by of foresight and not paocking we coukd have signed s very good dominant player which Anita is not

Agree14 Disagree2

09 Aug 2015 15:26:35
Anita played really well today and ever since he came off saints started to pick out holes in our midfield and controlled the game more. but before that I thought we played decent football, however the goals we conceded were extremely poor.

great start by Adam Armstrong on loan at Coventry.
Looks like they'll be giving him game time and as long as he comes up with the goods he'll stay in the team.

Adama traore possibly on way to liverpool with villa and Everton also chasing him. 19 years old looks well worth buying. Surely even ashley can see he's an asset that potentially should increase. speed .flair. and doesn't get knocked off ball easy.
