Looking up the league from where we currently are. Can we really expect to be any higher? bar the small exception of Southampton (who are transformed under Pochettino and had good investment) are we not performing at an expected level. mid-table finish will always come with its ups and downs.
I think were in a good position to finish 9th or 10th.
We need investment in the coaching area's to see more consistent performances from the players.
We need a chairman with knowledge of how to run a football club.

Remember we finished 16th last season, so we need to be patient to reach the heights of 5th again. 10th, 9th, 8th would be a good stepping stone for next season. But we seriously need a new owner, DOF, coaches if we want to become a consistent top 6 team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good managers will never come while we have that person in charge, I fear that unless an offer which that person deems ridiculous comes in we're with him for the long haul, 2-3 seasons in the Championship would be our only hope I think.

When we finished 5th and qualified for europe every player was instumental in our success, they all have good points and bad points but it all dovetailed well with each other. Cisse, facing goal and ball played in front of him was lethal and Tiote (although collecting yellow cards) ruled the midfield area. That summer Pardew said he would change their game for the better, result? TWO ineffective players. Cisse cannot play with his back to goal, he is a goalscorer Pardew! Same as the new french lads that came in january, came in as quality but now are a shadow of that. The BIG problem is our coaching staff. If Pardew has to stay for Ashley. then let's replace Carver and Stone with proper coaches that can take our players forward, improve them, NOT destroy them. Moyes got rid of Mah Utd coaching staff, let's get them signed up.

Ok firstly it's cisse's fault he's not getting into goal scoring positions and not playing well. Yes I agree we need some new coaching staff, and I don't think carver was pardew's first choice, he actually approached malky McKay to be his number 2 because they have previously worked together at west ham. I don't rate Steve stone at all, we need that old Man U assistant manager/coach phelan. Gian Nola biscotti would be good.

But before we do anything, if Ashley isn't going to go then we need to get kinnear out because that Man hasn't got a f***ing clue. Damien Comolli would be the one for me.

Harvey sorry to upset you but suggest you watch again Obertan gave 90% of his passes to the opposition & Cisse listen to the commentary which I did after the match even they were laughing he is hopeless & the 40 people around me at the match feel the same
These 2 would not get in any other Premiership team
& if Pardew perseveres in playing them you to may
realise how poor they are.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As I said, I suggest you go and watch the build up to the 2nd goal, which killed the game off for us. (I would be happy to link you, but this site will not allow links)

Suggesting it was a mistake for Obertan to come on is absolute nonsense as he helped set up the game killing goal. Oh and btw, he did give the ball away a few times, but that is because he was instructed to play out wide and keep the ball in the corners.

Why would I care if Obertan made a few stray passes if he helped win the game, the original statement said that it was a ''shocking decision'' by Pardew to bring on Obertan, when the 2nd goal proves that it wasn't.

And I didn't at any point state that Cisse was perfect when he came on, but he was involved in some good moves, and I believe in giving credit for good work, instead of ignoring anything good and concentrating on nothing but the bad points. Cisse had a few bad touches, but he was working hard, and he showed some flashes of his skill - that being the truth of his performance.

Cisse was involved in a build up that nearly led to a goal, he also dragged defenders away from Remy, which led to Remy getting into the game.

Okay, Ed.

Here is the link, it is bad quality, but you will see Obertan clearly involved in the build up to the goal.

For me, contributing to a goal outweighs any criticism of his passing, or criticism of the manager for bringing him on late in a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harvey Was not said they did not do something
as they should week in week out it is quite simple which they do not seem able to do often
These 2 are pathetic and if you think they warrant a place in the team that us your opinion because most fans with football acumen & sense do not
Cisse is now a joke whilst Obertan is a 2nd division player at best
Watch their overall game, as for Cisse taking players away they don't even
Mark him

Agree0 Disagree0

What commentary team were laughing at cisse as I didn't hear any. why not mock the fat lazy HBA who gives the ball away more than any other toon player. Least cisse tracks

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Dannitoon, its about time HBA was exposed for what he is

Agree0 Disagree0

Dannie thought from your posts you knew football You can not mention Cisse in the same breath as HBA

As for Obertan a quote today And the margin of victory could have even been larger, had late replacement Gabriel Obertan not inexplicably contrived to lose possession when powering forward

Keep the Faith we won and that is all that counts

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair comment and what about Marveaux head and shoulders above Obertan. Or did you forget about him just like Pardew has done

Alan Pardew savoured a famous victory over Chelsea - then dedicated it to controversial owner Mike Ashley. Says it all really, Pardew wants to know why the fans or against him this stupid statement says everything.

Despite yesterdays great win this man Pardew is dancing on a string for Ashley and yes we will win some and yes we will lose some but Pardew needs to respect and think about the fans before giving credit to this OAF of an owner.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said ART. we got the win and on the balance of play we deserved it. Why he feels the need to stir the pot further with that comment is just stupid. Or is he just pandering to Ashley as he fears the axe is coming?

Although the 4-4-2 worked well but I think we need to get 10men behind the ball with the 4-5-1 as Anita deserves a place

Krul

Debuchy
Williamson
Yanga-M'Biwa
Santon

Sissoko
Cabaye
Tiote
Anita
Gouffran

Remy

I think Gouffran will be better on the wing rather than benny because he has a better work/defensive ethic, same with sissoko. I thought Anita was excellent when he came on and him, cabaye, sissoko and Gouffran can get forward to support remy while the rest stay back with Tiote anchoring as usual.

A result that shocked a lot of people
I think most fans agree we have some good players
but a definitely missing a quality CB and Striker
Pardew will be cockahoop but let's hope like Ashley think he can walk on water.

Pardew's decision to bring on Cisse who was shocking and Obertan was even worse is amazing, surely Sammy and anyone else but Obertan would have been better.

Some good football played by everyone else
and the full backs with Williamson and Mwbia
did a great job.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Obertan helped create the 2nd goal when it looked like Chelsea might equalize.

I suggest you go and watch the build up to the 2nd goal again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to add, Cisse nearly set up a goal too, with a sublime chested lay-off.

I think you should pay more attention to what players do as a whole, even off the ball, instead of singling out players for negative attention before the game starts, and peering for every little negative thing they do so you can pat yourself on the back, whilst forgetting anything good they contribute.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree wiv ya harvey. art. to say unless your oppinions are agreed with no one knows owt about the game proves to me u couldn't kick a ball never mind have the right to dismiss others comments. Cisse is like andy cole. needs a team around hin

Agree0 Disagree0

He brought on Obertan because he has better defensive ethic than Benny, cisse came on just to try and get him firing again

Agree0 Disagree0

Danniitoon I don't need to kick a ball to recognise that Cisse is almost not as good as Sunday league strikers & Obertan fits into the top 10 worst players I have ever seen at NUFC
However I acknowledge that others have different opinions like Ashley JFK Pardew and you and one or two others
