Todays news newcastle being linked with carlton cole(worse than ameobi) and paul konchesky(over the hill). sad to say if newcastle are seeting their transfer sights on players like this we are barley going to survive the season next year. also gervinho wants champs league football next year so we can cross him off our list. looks like another dissapointing transfer window with likely chances of tiote and maybe barton nolan leaving going on ashleys previos form

We don't need to spend more than £5m on any one player.we have made many mistakes in the transfer market in the past Owen and Luque come to mind but there are many more.Allardyce was good at buying quality Enrique comes to mind.Ferguson gets it right look at Chico Hernandez and many others and what did he pay for Owen yes nothing !Still been injured most of the time !

Newcastle to bid for carlyon cole and jermaine defoe for a combined total of 20-22 million.

If so who else would we be likely to bid for with the 13-15million left( if ashley puts up all 35million from carroll)?

Possible move for Lennon in summer, had fallout with Redknapp, will be bit expensive but is only 24 and still has very bright future. Would be excellent signing.
