I believe that the best option for pardew in the summer would be to invest in young players like van wolfswinkel and sturridge but we also need to look at a proven goal scorer like Hulk though there will be many other big clubs in for him so might not be possible. We also need to look at the midfield because tbf joey barton is playing really well on the right but his natural postion is in the middle and chiek tiote is going to be attracting so much interest from many big clubs that i would be suprised if we manage to keep him.
your views ed? {ed's note - hard to say this after putting 4 past Arsenal, but Newcastle definitely needs strikers, first and foremost. That has to be the absolute priority, in my opinion. Worry about replacing Tiote (or a winger to replace Barton if he replaces Tiote) when you sell him, I think.}

Ive been looking at the players out of contract in summer and we could get CB/LB: Christian pander and ST: Juan Albin who we have benn linked with before. Then if we do get the £30m+ in the summer we could invest in young talent like Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, will leave enough to buy fringe players like Stephen Ireland if he gets back to his best id like us to bid for Pav from spurs i think he could be good for us big strong good finish or Carlton Cole from Hammers he is really good at holding the ball up and Ranger could learn alot from these Strikers. .

Touche. .don't know who thought but what do you think of our chances of getting him?/Have you heard anything from our end about any type of real interest in him. That kid is class.
{Editor's Note: Chelsea will let their other left back, Ryan Bertrand, be sold but they want to hold on to Patrick Van Aanholt as a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole. Sorry, ed, are you saying you don't rate him? I couldn't tell. I was personally really surprised he went back to the championship on loan. His stint with us last season was class. I would love to see him here playing in front of Enrique in a more advanced role. Either way, I think he's gonna be one of the top attacking full backs in the years to come {ed's note - I think he is an excellent player, it was just that he was placed at right back and he is no right back!}
