Nufc set to sign rob Elliott from charlton. Pardew was unimpressed by forster and has shipped him out. Elliott is seen as a young English goalkeeper and ideal long-term back up to Tim krul once harper retires

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Shame Elliotts not english.. hes from republic of ireland

Agree0 Disagree0

Born in kent, so he is english.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry my bad i meant to say home grown player

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll have soderburg and alnwick in the wing when harper retires.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is only one robbie elliot We dont want a fony

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what we need can he play left back maybe pardew is going to turn him into a centre forward

Agree0 Disagree0

Can he play left back as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardews clearly clueless maybe he thought this was Ex NUFC LB Rob-bie Elliot , i hope this was just a daft mistake

Agree0 Disagree0

He's been brought in because forster wouldn't sit on the bench all season but Elliott will also he's well known by pardew and our goalkeeper coach from their time at charlton

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he plays very far forward up the pitch as we need F$#king goals not more keepers

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting, apparently we can get a new keeper in on the cheap in the blink of an eye, not so a LB or Striker. Proof positive that M.A has no intention of doing any serious business on that front what a total joke we have become. The only positive thing about this is when all the debt laden clubs start going bust we may just survive ,small comfort i know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't this make it obvious that the club are energetically pursuing a striker. Everybody is holding out for top bucks so I'm afraid it's a waiting game. You lot don't seem to have the ability to hold your nerve though. You just give bullets fot the mackems to fire at us.........SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee ryder has just spoke to PSV chairman who said "Necwastle have not been in contact since the weekend" (ashleys intent is clear) shame his intent is to do bugger all

Agree0 Disagree0

SteveToon - in what way does this make it obvious we are energetically pursuing a new striker? It looks as if at least some resource is focussed on signing a new goalkeeper. If fan's are impatient, then maybe that is because the club have been "holding their nerve" since flogging Andy Carroll, and look like holding the cash as well. Or maybe because Poorexcuse told everybody that a striker and LB were a priority and he expected two players in by Saturday?

Nufc sign unheard of goalkeeper rob Elliott from charlton, this ones broke the bank Ashleys kind of crap cheap cheap rubbish like sports direct crap

Believable12 Unbelievable3

"Cheap rubbish" my backside. I bought some Titleist PROV1 golf balls from him yesterday. Best you can get. Stop griping twist face, the season is just begining....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly the season is just beginning but we still need a striker and a left back so he buys a keeper k**b

Is there any more news on sturridge since chelsea signed lukaku his chances look limited

Believable5 Unbelievable25

Zzzzzzzz.......not going to happen, how were you nutters brought up, you seem completey brainless to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Y do ppl keep bringing this up sturridge will be going no where really starting to get annoyed with this unture saga truth be told we will be luck to bring sumone else in if no movement this week then highly doubt we will sign anyone nd this is the truth because the asking price will just go up as there is less time left to buy and we all know ma will not pay over the odds for players simple

Agree0 Disagree0

He is 5th choice striker at a club who play with 1 up front could defo see him going somewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge is far from 5th choice mate, avb sees him as the ideal partner for torres, lukaku has been brought for the future he still has a long way to go before he will start games.

Agree0 Disagree0

He may go somewhere else on loan, but not newcastle.

Joey Barton seen getting in a chaufer driven merc outside Romford station (near to West Ham's Chadwell Heath training ground).

Believable11 Unbelievable28

Funny says he's playing golf on his twitter

Agree0 Disagree0

Please....this is not believable to the majorityon here but getting Drgba, Bentner etc is, just shows most people on heres opinions are just biased.Theres more chance this could be true than Newcastles chances of getting even 3 of the 30ish top strikers you've all been going on about over the summer and anyone with brains knows thats true.

Agree0 Disagree0

He tweeted at lunchtime that he was off to play golf

Agree0 Disagree0

Dorsn't mean his not playing golf with nolan and big sam

Agree0 Disagree0

It does as training didnt finish til what 13:00hrs... so how did he get to westham in 2 hours.... moron

Agree0 Disagree0

That's why he's been on twitter confirming he's been playing golf with steve black.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was playing golf at Burgham park in Northumberland again I work there . He had White pants on and a black t-shirt. So stop posting your bull crap. A1chef

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic, pointless rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only connection to W. H is he has a house about an hour away i think. Sad attempt to bring more gloom to the toon masses u must be a SMB get back to your own site.

Mike Ashley has told Alan Pardew 6million is to much for Pieters and he has to look for an alternative LB. Good bye Premiership, hello Championship......ASHLEY OUT

Believable34 Unbelievable12

Ridgewell would be a great cheap alternative.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley out? Bit harsh seems as tho hes doing an excellent job business wise. But Newcastle fans being who you are... just want random people to throw multi millions away for your 2 hours of enjoyment every weekend without a thing in return. Not even a bit respect. You belong in the bottom leagues, like rats in the sewers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley is doing it for self gain you prick, its an entertainment business

Agree0 Disagree0

Comes to something when nyron nosworthy turns us down on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

A good job i dont think so what, no plan b as normal, ashley is a cancer spreading through the club, he rapping the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that concidering b4 talks opened he knew about the basic cost... so very much doubt he'd say 6 million too much.. i doubt he tw@ttered either.. so p off smb

Agree0 Disagree0

Just let them get on with what they want to do, we may go down, we may not, its obvious he has no intentions of spending money on top players or paying the wages these players or their agents are demanding, do these players want to play for us anyway if the wages are'nt there? Keep our objectives low and we wont be disappointed, we are never going to be the same club as we were 10 years ago, not under Ashley anyway so I for one will look at this season as a case of "if we stay up great" we may as well get used to it because I think as long as he owns the club basically theres not alot we can do and this will carry on every year from now. Ashley is a hard nosed businessman our comments, or Ashley out chants or anything else will just wash over him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello Sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to hit him where it hurts then, his wallet. I have never known any chairman in any league do what he is doing to the our club, it is almost like he is out to destroy us. How can he possible say Pieters is to exspensive? 30k a week is cheap, if he wont pay that he wont pay anything and i am afraid to say it isnt a case of IF we go down its a case of WHEN

{Ed042's Note - Did he say it? did anyone Directly involved in the transfer? or did a paper? If it was Mike then thats the 1st words he has spoken as regards Newcastle in a long time, seems unlikely thats the first thing he would say doesnt it?.. people should stop believing everything they read, really}

Agree0 Disagree0

Too much for pieters?? his team came 2nd in the world cup. rates him much more than 6 mil if you ask me....

Wednesday and still no signings getting worried for Saturday?

Believable12 Unbelievable5

At least you're not surprised it's becoming a joke, if we aren't prepared to pay £6m for a dutch interbational FB 23 yrs old on less wages than the previous one who actually wants to play for us we may as well give up

Agree0 Disagree0

A boycott is the only answer maybe if knowone turns up for the next few home games maybe, just maybe, MA might get what people think and at least attempt to sell up.

Agree0 Disagree0

You still have 2 days to go but even if you did sign a left back and a striker before sat, they haven't played with your team before. but think your fans just hope too much

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike Ashley lost 200 million 2 weeks ago, doubt losing on estimate 300k a home match is going to worry him. If you dont go to the matchs (fans) in a couple of years there wont be anymore Newcastle fc the fans are the only thing from stopping the club from going into administration.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most are season tickets so fat mike already has the cash in his bank account lads

Agree0 Disagree0

He made 200million... he didnt lose it... and he's banked 50million from transfers already this year

{Ed042's Note - Lost approx. £206m from stock crash mate, not talking about Sports Direct profits}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a Newcastle fan, season ticket holder, completely hate Mike Ashley but can guarantee if Newcastle beat Sunderland this weekend most critics towards our transfer window and Mike Ashley will massivley decrease.

Agree0 Disagree0

He made 200million... he didnt lose it... and he's banked 50million from transfers already this year

{Ed042's Note - Lost approx. £206m from stock crash mate, not talking about Sports Direct profits}

balls...well he aint gonna signing a birthday card never mind 2-3 players for 15 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but you only lose the money if you sell your shares?

Reading reports of Forster to Celtic for a fee of around £1.5m. I personally think this is a bad move for Newcastle. I believe Forster is the best keeper at Newcastle and has a lot of potential for years to come.

Believable13 Unbelievable11

Krul is very good and will get better,we have Harper as second choice and two very good keepers coming through espc Alnwick

Agree0 Disagree0

Only gone on loan although it could be made permanent at end of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha.
Give your head a shake m8.He's just about average & thats being kind to the lad.If he was any good.he wouldn't be going back up there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Krul will be number 1 at Newcastle for years to come UNLESS Fat Ash decides to cash in on him Forster not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you watch any SPL games he played in last season? 24 clean sheets in 44 matches. I wouldn't say he was average

Agree0 Disagree0

How hard Is it to keep clean sheets for Celtic or Rangers? Davie Weir plays centre half week in week out for Rangers ffs.lol.Thats the reason Pardew was giving off.He wasn't being tested up there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have read in a few forums newcastle 'fans' ridiculing celtic and the scottish league over Fraser Forster transfer. Think it shows a real lack of class from supporters of a really great team

{Ed042's Note - Well said}

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2011 12:45:32
Here we go again. Not willing to pay the going rate for quality players.
We're trying to run a premiership club on championship finances, well Mr Ashley you will get your wish next season when were relegated

Believable22 Unbelievable2

You laughed when Sunderland fans suggested this. Seriously, banter to one side, you need Ashley out.

Erik pieters has flown to austria with psv for there Europa game on Thursday evening..

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Im afraid only my club NUFC could F&%K this deal up, 1st they state one player out one in, our lb gone- 6mil the player we want 6mil half the wages win win situation for all. and watch the deal day by day go down the plug-hole , Ashley i have actually been supporting your cost cutting (within reason) but this deal even makes financial sense he's still young will have a good sell on,and the fans get someone they trust and seem to want in for the LB pos. sooner or later he will wake up and realize not every deal is gonna be a cash cow and you have to pay market value for good players..

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Same i have tried to be patient and undertsanding of the policy and genuinely thought we could do alright this year if the minimum requirement was met i.e. signings in the weak areas im now becoming despondant and slightly regretting buying a season ticket i hope the pieters deal can be resurrected (heres praying)

bendtner did'nt get on for the gooners last night ...summat in the offing ??

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Aye, he's not good enough.....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably got tired of being stuffed around and waiting for mickey mouse offers from our board, signed for the mackems and will play against us on the weekend and bang 3 in for fun,,,,,,,,, ashley get us a STRIKER or at least stop patronizing the fans with Mickey mouse offers for big name strikers when you know you have buckleys of getting a deal done with the crap you are offering soon no clubs will even deal with us,

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Bentners going to Newcastle when they wont even pay 6 million for Pieters.....Zzzzzzzz. Betners in a different class to any team not in the top 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

What difference does it make... only effect champions league teams... not championship ones

Agree0 Disagree0

Does bendtner ever play 4 the gooners?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hearing reports today that we're not happy with the £6million asking price for Pieters. If this is true then it proves all they care about is making money. Considering this is more or less the sum we got for Jose whose wages were much higher then Pieters then surely there should be no issue in signing the lad. We don't have a proper left back at the club, we desperately need one and it seems like a straight swap with the club saving money on wages. Bridge is certainly not the answer Sometimes its hard to be a Geordie Toon Toon

Believable17 Unbelievable1

Get cissokho if they want to make money in the future. 7m is cheap for a player like him tbh i prefer cissokho even though pieters can play center back. we need an attacking team to score goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

If all the rumours are true I give up with this shower and will spend my money watching a real football team with ambition, Gateshead.

Agree0 Disagree0

With Pieters flying out with PSV to Austria for their Europa game on Thursday night, he will almost certainly not be coming to us by Saturday. This is a joke - we already have around £6m from the sale of Enrique. This lad is a full international with one of the best nations in the world, young, and on low wages.

Just what is Ashley delaying things for??

We'll end up with flaming Perch at left back

Agree0 Disagree0

I been saying for so long now we WILL NOT sign any one else with M.A in charge .

Agree0 Disagree0

They are claiming the wage demand is to high.....30k a week, give your head a shake M.A n get the lad in. Its laughable the way he is running the club

Agree0 Disagree0

On the striker front can i just say that i'm a toon fan living in Bristol and Nicky Maynard is defo worth a punt at the right price. He is small very quick and pacy and knows where to put the ball when it matters.

Agree0 Disagree0

When are yous mugs gonna learn ?

Ashley and co have once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in their effort to sign Pieters from PSV. After discussing and agreeing terms with both PSV and the player, they are now trying to reduce the fee and wages
These people are getting our club a bad reputation.

Believable17 Unbelievable2

Why oh why didnt we insist on getting a left back through the door before letting enrique go, now we are nacked if it take as long to get one in as it has took to get a forward in we might get one 2013,truth is he has no intention they are wating to see how fit the young irish kid is so they can pocket more money.

Agree0 Disagree0

The "moves" for Pieters and Cissokho will be used by Pardew to explain how we ended up with Wayne Bridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not what the local papers are reporting, and altho you shouldnt trust a paper to much, they are still more trusworthy than a no name internet person who might as well be a mackem on the stir

Agree0 Disagree0

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION FROM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh comeon... dont screw this one, he costs the same as enrique.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Are getting our club a bad reputation?

Have long got a bad reputation, in this and other businesses (witness what Lord Bernstein said when being forced out of Blacks). After the FA tribunal findings, why would anyone have expected better?

Agree0 Disagree0

I fuudging despair hes been seen boarding the PSV flight for their euro match if we end up with bridge i may cry

Forster back to Celtic on loan??
i thought Pardew said the Scottish leagues don't test him enough.
Swansea were looking for a keeper, why not loan him to them.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Becuz Swansea signed 2 keepers

Agree0 Disagree0

Havnt they got that vorm guy

Agree0 Disagree0

Cos Swansea already signed Michel Vorm and he was the only thing that prevented Man City from being about 10-0 up at half time so i'm pretty sure their all gd for GKs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you serious? Did you not watch the Swansea match the other nyt? There keeper is ten times better than that big donkey.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea have a new keeper called vorm. played well on monday against city even though he conceded 4 he was probably man of match. cant see forster getting in the team ahead of him, may aswell stay here

Agree0 Disagree0

Like it or not, we're in the relegation frame with Swansea. Why would we strengthen a rival. Think it through.......SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Because they've signed Vorm, and i know he conceded 4 on his debut but that man stopped it from being double figures

Agree0 Disagree0

He is coming to the 3rd biggest supported club in world football only Man Utd bigger than celtic fc in england

Agree0 Disagree0

3rd biggest club, who's 2nd Glasgow Rangers. you live in a dream world where only 3 teams exist you woodenhead. Celtic can't even afford to pay all of Forsters wages ya plonker......Stevetoon

There is a rumour going around we are once again looking at Wayne Bridge, I just want to say we need to relax and calm down. Pieters is the one we should be signing based on age/wages/fee and i hope to hell we get him.
But if we can get City to pay some of Wayne's wages, there is no reason not to take him on loan as cover. wouldn't it be nice if we had a squad that wouldn't fold with just one injury? We need more than just one RB one LB.... ex, having a bench would be helpful.... no?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Bridge is old, injury prone, on stupid wages and above all very poor, just ask west ham fans. Where is Kadar ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its in this morning jornal m8 about bridge

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah we should take a leaf owt of sunderlands book theyve got cover all ova the pitch nd wil be even better when oshea is fit nd they are even thinkin bout bringin kranjcar in aswel , wot a signing he wud be
