ola toivonen deal not happening as pardew wants a striker with premier league experience.

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Half the players in our team dont have prem expierience

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats why he wants a prem striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i don't think this is true at all as we were trying to sign gamiero and then erdinc. Ashley takes the risk on foreign players because they are cheaper

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point but heard a prem striker is a priority now.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is just stupid

Agree0 Disagree0

LIKE ERDING MAYBE. He was obsessed with him and he had no Prem experience. We won't be paying top buck so forget a Prem striker. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but this late in the window it makes sense to get someone who knows the league having missed out on bedding someone completely new in

uncle of mine works at the toon, been told enrique deal to liverpool is off and pieters signing to be annouced on monday.

Believable9 Unbelievable13

Same mate heard this too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so lads

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so too. BUT........why would we (and by we I mean Ashley) spend £7m on a left back to play second fiddle to Jose? He doesn't want to spend money on the squad unless we absolutely need the position filled, hence Pardew's confidence in bringing in a striker, so why would he spend £7m on a second left back that would mean that one of 2 very good, fairly expensive LB's sitting on the bench and Enrique leaving for nothing next summer? It just doesn't make sense. Saying that, Ashley knows nothing about football so it wouldn't surprise me :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard this too but it actually makes a lot of sense as if we retain enrique an he refuses to sign new contract we can sell him to a club in europe in need of bolstering for 2nd half of campaign and get inflated price meanwhile pieters gets bedded in (because it makes sense it wont happen)

Agree0 Disagree0

Your uncle has been told porkies then hasnt he

Bendtner deal hits stormy waters as Newcastle are unwilling and un-able to meet the Strikers wage demands. Instead, Pardew will again enquire into the price to prise Holt away from Norwich. Pardew also wants to make a swoop for Abdel Taarabt after the move to PSG fell through.

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Pure fabrication

Agree0 Disagree0

Grant Holt, 30 years old with no re-sale value.

Would not be considered even if he was free

nufc and lfc agree fee for enrique and hes agreed personal terms announcment swn afta we get close on peiters. (WelshToon)

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Are we signing a replacement before arsenal then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sick hearing about it let's just get it done and move on

Agree0 Disagree0

By all acounts newcastle are doing a liverpool here and wont let enrique complete until Pieters is all but done John-o

Agree0 Disagree0

Welshtoon are u cwarr07 or do u just post what he puts on twitter. cos hes full of rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive heard its off

Agree0 Disagree0

Just posts what Cwarr posts, always has, bored of it since cwarrs full of sh*t, anyone name something he's got right? didnt think so.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard bendtner deal isn't going too well he's stalling see who else comes in and we are now looking at hooper of Celtic

Believable8 Unbelievable19

We dont want him,,he started well in Scotland but once defenders got to know him they controlled him easily ,,he always turns the same way and is easily marked ,,would struggle badly at the top level we play at

Agree0 Disagree0

Deluded to bits...top level you play at? Absolute cringeworthy, hes to good for newcastle and sunderland before you say smb.

Agree0 Disagree0

How is Hooper too good for Newcastle? He is playing football in Scotland which everybody knows is at an awful standard. He wasn't that prolific in the Championship for S*unthorpe

Agree0 Disagree0

I live in scotland and he is good i think would be a good signing for us

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 19:13:51
Very very very good source Ray Thompson the nufc kit man has told my mate that a deal for bendtner is all but done, both clubs are preceding with the deal after they play one another on Saturday. This is nailed on

Believable19 Unbelievable12

Like him,, he will score against the scopts tonight,,we will get him quite cheaply too,,20 goals a year man worth the money

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal fans cant wait to get rid of him and u guys want him to Newcastle...No Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we wait till after arsenal game...if wenger that concerned he'll score why is he for sale

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't matter who we go for somebody is guarantee to whinge .
Think bendtner could prove a lot of people wrong with regular games couldnt give a ff about his ego if he does the business

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe some people don't want him. He's far better than anything we've got at the minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not, the guys nickname is barndoor for a good reason

Agree0 Disagree0

Who else is there then clever kno@ ?

Agree0 Disagree0

ALWAYS MANAGED TO SCORE AGAINST US...balls caps locks

Agree0 Disagree0

He believes some day he will be the best player in the world and you honestly think he would think about coming here. Stop making geordies look stupid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a donkey that just ran through a butter factory

Agree0 Disagree0

heard from mate gers supporter that lovenkrands is heading back to ibrox ,,anybody know owt?/

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Heard that on local radio

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so, he is bloody awful

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so he helped us out in the championship and our first season back... well he tried.
Create some space for a better striker into our squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way hes cheap so hes right up ashleys street. He will get a new contract and its nailed on. Just look at Ameobi.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lovenkrands is th best striker nufc has had in years

Agree0 Disagree0

barton gone from 7t1 to odds on to join arsenal

Believable4 Unbelievable8

He's going nowhere.... no foriegn manager will sign him... they havent got the man management skills to work with disruptive influences...(ie) bellamy & manchini, Gullit and most of the toon team and chelsea team

Agree0 Disagree0

Barton & Bendtner swap deal?

Bentner to arrive after the arsenal game fee of around 9m (WelshToon)

Believable15 Unbelievable11

Source please?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather hav ameobi

Agree0 Disagree0

His Source is Peter Holdsworth, he's off Twitter and is quite reliable

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather have none apart from shola for the mackem games

Agree0 Disagree0

Welshtoon, where did you get this from cause I've been told he's of to Germany by Malcolm Macdonald.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every week it is someone else, don't believe a word you see until it is confirmed by the club itself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can u post the comment Peter Holdsworth made then please?
Why are people against us signing Bendtner?
Good young striker from Arsenal, Danish International, strong, got a bit of pace, good in the air, decent scoring record.
I think he could do well with regular game time and a starting role in his favoured position(Centre Forward, Not the right wing Wenger)

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be gr8 signing for the toon would get 20 + a season i think him and baaaaaaa wkdforce upfront

Agree0 Disagree0

Evens favourite to sign

Agree0 Disagree0

No thx.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he signs but wouldnt chase him... if ya dont wanna sign for da toon, fine, sit on ya arse and moan

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that poster saying 'he would rather have none' Mike Ashley?

Agree0 Disagree0

Send him to the championship for a year first toughen him up...not worthy of the maggpies shirt...lfc fan

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 17:23:18
Defoe is 8/11 to join the toon.
Sky bet.

Believable8 Unbelievable19

No chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes just read that too 8/11 , ROB GREEN is 1/3 to sign as well for us. with joey barton to go to Arsenal 5/6...

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance to all 3

Agree0 Disagree0

The bookies have slashed the odds? Mint he must defo 100% be coming even tho hes already said he wouldnt come up here. But i would definatly believe the bookies over defo's actual words.
Hard to believe some of the posts on here.

toon considering Vela on loan if no permanant deal can be brokered in the next 2 weeks just a rumour but i like him quality FW

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Agree a diamond in the rough could be the second striker with that bit of magic that we need

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 16:31:27
Phil Airey is off to Hibs on a 6 months loan.
Lets hope the lad comes back a better players, seems like we'll need it.

Believable20 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2011 13:58:04
crouch going to stoke jones up for grabs?

Believable6 Unbelievable22

I really reckon Kenwyne could take it to another level with a quality midfield behind him, would love it to happen but don't feel it's likely :(

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a lazy b**tard crap 3 out of 4 games but he will have the odd wow unplayable game where he's better than drogba rooney torres when he was good put together, too relaxed these carribean players and its just to cold in the northeadt takes him 80 of the 90 minutes to warm up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quick striker wanted, not lumbering target men

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones more likely than Bentner and look at all the fuss about him.

ed is their any news on a striker coming in apart from bendtner (GEORDIE BOY 4LIFE)

{Ed042's Note - Take it you wouldnt be happy with Bendtner then?}

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Hi mate , how things developing with the striker situation please, all the gen please

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really but i suppose hes better than shola (GEORDIE BOY 4LIFE)

{Ed042's Note - Career record is Goal approx every 2.5 games, goal or assist every 1.6 games, cant knock the lad imo, well worth a punt.. other targets btw are said to be Kerrison loan, Toivonen 8.5m the value, and Pav @ 14mil which writes that rumour off, there is truth in the other two and Bendtners}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers any news on that pieters

{Ed042's Note - Rumoured to be in talks at the mo, dependant on Enrique going though, Newcastle willing to pay release clause fee, said to be approx. 6 to 7 mil}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed u got to remember with those stats that Bendtner in Arsenal have mostly got to play against the bad teams in the premiership and against even worse teams then that in the cups. Meaning that those stats cannot be compared to what he would do as a starter in Newcastle. I say that this would be a really bad buy for that money.

{Ed042's Note - Also have to remember we are not a top 4 side and are all mental if we think we can get better quality players than Bendtner and Obertan at the moment, both from top Premiership clubs, just because they dont set the world alight doesnt make them bad players, both only 22 as well, far from their peak.. know where you`re coming from mate but he`d be a good by I think, much better overall game aside from goals than what we have at the mo}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not know how you can say its a bad buy proven international striker at the age 23 played out of position to much at the gunners tall strong pacey forward that would do well in a black and white shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather have Bendtner than Toivenen, knows his way to goal decent in the air and on the ground can see a solid 12-15 goals from him

Agree0 Disagree0

Is bendtner's attitude not a bit poor though ED? One of these young lads who are completely out of touch with finacial reality I agree at the minute it could maybe be seen as a coup if we got him, much more likely to go to a german European football club than us so AP done well if we do sign him. Toivonen even though I've only saw him a handful of times would do well I think, seems hardworking which if you have a striker going through a bad patch is something you still want to see, bot give up which I think bendtner may be And enrique can go if he wants, if the young Dutch lad wants to come great

{Ed042's Note - Toivonen looks very promising but have read plenty saying he has a bad attitude as well.. Bendtner has an ego, but its been blown out all proportion by the media at times.. if you hear the lad speak he is very confident and ambitious, but dont think the ego is as big a problem as its made out to be.. wages wise hes on approx 55K a week at Arsenal at the mo, i`d say we`d offer 50K tops}

Agree0 Disagree0

You have read lies about Toivonen then Ed. He is very much a team player which he shows both in our national team and in PSV. Bendtner is not a team player and I can only imagine his reactions if AP put him on the bench for a game. I would rather see them spend 10 millions on fascilities then on Bendtner. We need a goal scorer who is a team player, like Henrik Larsson was in Celtics.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think that Bendtner would be a fantastic signing for us .. Strong , quick very tricky and still only 22 with a massive point to prove that AW was wrong to let him go .. Very happy if we get him .. Just need Pieters in at LB and we are well sorted

Agree0 Disagree0

Was thinking bendtners wages would be extortionate especially when we're operating on pennies, from what we're told anyway. any idea what ameobi's on with his contract extension? i hope if the 'we've spent the 35 million already' comment gets used again they aren't reffering to shola's new contract signing on fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Even tho most of bendtners goals came against less strong opponents he was also scoring without a consistant run in the side so thtd even out tbf

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 13:14:55
Obertan has been given the no 9 shirt on skysports newcastles squad list for this season????? WTH

Believable3 Unbelievable35

No he hasn't

Agree0 Disagree0

THIS LOOKS LIKE ITS CORRECT AS ITS ON TEAM TALK AS WELL SAD DAY

Agree0 Disagree0

It also says both Krul and Forster are no 26 and S.Taylor and Tavernier are both 27 so its not reliable.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he has, but at the end of the day it's a shirt number all this iconic bs is one of the things that holds the club back, fans more bothered about who wears a shirt than who we are signing

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll get 25 cos lualua is out on loan all season

Agree0 Disagree0

Picture of him wearing no.54 training jumper

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed theres rumours around that we are set to sign Bendtner after the Arsenal match, any truth to this?
Also the person below pointed out we are favs to sign him on sky bet.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

{Ed042's Note - Did show interest in the past week, wage demands could be a problem but not too much of a drop from what hes on currently to match our wage cap, we are strong favorites to sign him but odds are always altered by betting, hes set to announce his future over the next day or two, even IF we did sign him before Saturday I wouldnt imagine he`d play against Arsenal anyway being so close to the fixture, we are in the running for him thats a s definitive as it gets right now, toon keeping targets very quiet}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed.
Think he would be a cracking signing personally.
Would be a good fit for the no.9 shirt and i think given a chance and getting a run of games he could score a ton of goals.
Yeah he's got a bit of an ego but isnt that what you want? You want your strikers to be confident.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree id rather have a striker who is a little overconfident than one with a fragile level of self belief a couple of bad passes and they go missing in games i will be very happy with bendtner if he comes in and that takes us to 25 players so when xisco/Enrique moves on we can replace him with LB (Pieters) and our squad will be looking potentially very good (if they gel)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take him, he's got a lot of good things about his game but like everything at this level it's about consistency, if he's given an extended run as a first choice striker i think he could prove to be an excellent signing for whoever gets him

Agree0 Disagree0

Same i have him hes a proven intentional at the age of 23 gets played to much out of pistion for me at gunners big strong pace forward that would fit right in at newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 10:48:45
Newcastle even money fav to sign Bendtner, sky bet

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Can't see us paying the fee Arsenal are supposed to be after like. Think we'll spend £7m max on a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want him... get toivonen instead

Agree0 Disagree0

Toivenan for me but TBH I think Given a run ina team Bendtner will score plenty, just worry about his attitude and his pink boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

They have 12 mill left for striker cos they did bid the same as arsenal for gervinho and 10 mil for gamero

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Bendtner given a run in the 1st team i think he has the chance to do well. I dont think it will happen before saturday though.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to Lille we never even bid for Gervinho like. We probably didnt for Gamerio either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would welcome Bendtner with open arms,I have said before he reminds me of Mcdonald,to me he would be the perfect choice for our new No9..

Agree0 Disagree0

Comparing bendtner to mcdonald...your obvz a mackem or your just an person

Agree0 Disagree0

Reminds you of mcdonald which one ronald u t**t?

Agree0 Disagree0

You know nothing about football,
sticking to what I said, and I am a season ticket holder and not a Mackem.
Idiots.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather have toivenen than bendtner but the problem is WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET A STRIKER

Agree0 Disagree0

Gameiro is the only one of Erding Gameiro Gervinho and long that it was ever confirmed we bid for other clubs have stated that we didnt ever submit a formal bid (just Enquiries)

Agree0 Disagree0

My friend in amsterdam told me that toivenen is an idiot. i'd rather bendtner. think he could be a fantastic player if he was given a first team spot

Agree0 Disagree0

Means nowt we where odds on to sign nzogbia not that long ago we are also odds on to sign defoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Bentner to newcastle, give it a week or so until you step aside again. Unbelievably deluded.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky Bet is BULL$#T

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 09:52:22
Shola Ameobi has just signed a new 2 year extension at newcastle. wtf???
source. SSN

Believable7 Unbelievable6

I hope this does not mean we are sticking with what we have got on the striker front

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we have to keep the mackam slayer...3years 6 derbys that with sholas record is a possible 18 goals

Agree0 Disagree0

The contract said Mr S Ameobi and shola snatched it We wanted Sammi really

Ah who am i kidding nufc with strolla would be a sadder place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should say without Shola stupid me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pleased about this. He is totally committed and it is not his fault he has little pace but does create problems for defenders with his physicality and he really really really wants to play for the club and the fans.
At the end of Shearers last season he seemed to really step up and looked top notch, scoring for fun and first game next season he scored one and created the other in a 2-1 win against Wigan but got hammered by one of their defenders and ended up injured. Without that injury he would have shone from then on. If he is injury free at the moment I think he will do well next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shola just like a bad penny, but also like a comfortable pair of slippers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit like marmite you either love him or hate him sometimes you love him and hate him

Agree0 Disagree0

Shola is a comfortable pair of slippers made of bad pennies his problem is at time he seems to forget to take off the comfortable slippers andreplace them with football boots but honestly since we lost titus we dont have anyone else who can take a jestful slating

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the best striker in the would looks like Bambi on Ice at times however gives 100% rather have a Shola than an Owen any day. Has been devoted to Newcastle since a kid so warrants the contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's probably on pretty low wages anyway, what is the point in offloading him? We'd get f*** all for him so we might as well have him for backup/scoring against the Mackems.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 03:40:50
Newcastle's Final transfer movements are gathering pace. Jose Enrique is now certain to go to Liverpool for a fee of an estimated 6.5m. This will pave the way for Pieters to join Newcastle for roughly 5.5m from Psv to replace him. Joey Barton now wants to stay at Newcastle will do as long as the board let him do so. Pardew is still chasing a strike partner for Demba Ba and is hoping to capture either Bendtner or Pavlyuhencko, however the Newcastle board are very reluctant to pay the 14m asking price for him.

Believable16 Unbelievable6

You speak with such pretentious authority on things everybody already knows. Do you think we all live in a cave. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Very similar players but when you can get a 23 yr old for £10mil with potential to improve u aint gonna buy a 29 yr old for £14mil with the potential to get worse

Agree0 Disagree0

Id rather have toivenen for 8.5mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Aww i do live in a cave i didnt realise that was frowned upon but to be fair even i bloomin knew :P

Agree0 Disagree0
