news coming out of twente in their local paper today is they have a large sell on clause in the tiote transfer and there chairman is hoping that he is sold with some reports it could be as high as 50% ed what do you think i reckon somewhere in region of 25%

Believable4 Unbelievable23

No sell on clause exists. He had 1 year left on his contract and got good money for him. Would have been reported at the time of him signing and to suggest this now smacks of a mackem

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it is high it'll put ashley off selling him

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is 50% then there is little chance we'll let him go for anything less than £20 million (or we won't make enogh on the deal). Don't think anyone would pay that so we get to keep him. Great news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our Board may be daft, but it certainly wouldn't offer such a deal. If a sell-on clause for such a high percentage was requested by Twente, the Tiote deal wouldn't have gone through, period.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad thing is he lost his way towards the end of last season and he was so poor against Arsenal. I don't think anyone would want to buy him anymore.....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Find this hard to believe i would think if they wanted 50% sell on fee for a player in the last year of his contract we would have just waited till the contract ran out then got him on a free with no strings.

its doyle, thats who there sniffing round, oh my lord

Believable4 Unbelievable18

He's better than what we have and a proven prem goal scorer

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfect 1st reply

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with that, but it was a wind up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so, hes the most under rated striker in the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

No point in starting a rumour about anyone over 25 years of age because we already know its not true.

Agree0 Disagree0

No point in starting a rumour about anybody who would cost money or demand more than minimum wage cos we already know its not true.

Agree0 Disagree0

No point at all since we have no intention of signing anybody. Problem is who is next to go and then have a dig at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin the doyle haha

Unnamed M.F and D.F having medical at Blackburn tomorrow . Don't suppose the M.F is Barton by any chance, wouldn't surprise me if M.A trying to keep it quiet long as poss so Pards dont have to comment on it when he spoke on sky sports today. Also noticed pardew wouldn't confirm if J.B staying or not .

Believable5 Unbelievable20

MF could be Simon Vuckevic of Sporting, closely linked with a move to Rovers today.

Agree0 Disagree0

They aren't unnamed, they're widely reported on SSN. Vuckevic was one of them but Barton wasn't. To be honest, I don't remember the other but it wasn't anyone exciting (for us or Rovers).

Agree0 Disagree0

I just want to know where the 2 signing are we were promised before we play tomorrow, can't trust a thing AP says

any truth in the suggestion Smith would be offered in exchange for Nicky Maynard?

Believable14 Unbelievable13

That would be a great idea maynard is a great talent and look a natural goal scorer worth a punt me thinks

Agree0 Disagree0

Unlikely smith will want to leave, he's on a nice 60k a week, and barely plays.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew says there is still a chance that a left-back could sign before this weekend's derby with Sunderland, while talks are still ongoing over a move for Sochaux forward Modibo Maiga. SSN--Just pray to god the left back is not Wayne Bridge

Believable8 Unbelievable10

I think he is just getting your hopes up and no one will sign, have you noticed that all week your fans have been saying that pieters or another left back will be in by thursday and look no one yet. false hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say... MA wouldnt pay my release clause from the 3 bulls inn... 2 pork pies n a bottle of broon was deemed too much... looks like 2 million loan 29 years old and 30k wages is better deal..

ED is there anytruth we are linked with bryan ruiz

Believable0 Unbelievable14

Most likely Ruiz will end up at fulham , The bin dippers were interested at one time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Former teammate of Cheick isn't he? Good scoring record in Belgium and Holland, and young enough.

Spurs and Fulham are interested though, and today he's said he'd welcome a move to Craven Cottage.

J Samuel has been released at the beginning of the transfer window from Bolton. He is a left back that Pardew tried to sign for Charlton and is rumoured he may be a last option if all else fails.

Wouldnt be suprised if we got him at the end of window if no-one else came in or as cover.

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Are we talking J lloyd samuel who was a cardiff last season if so he is worse than perch and taylor

Agree0 Disagree0

So bad even Fat Sam doesn't appear to have offered him a contract after a trial at West Ham

any news on any GOOD strikers Ed?

{Ed042's Note - Yes, Chelsea have signed Lukaku and Aguero looks the business.. sorry mate nothing before the mackem game on a striker, its grand though, Shola is all set for part one of his two moments in the sun of the season}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Haha do you think we will sign any strikers by the end of the window

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2011 15:52:33
Any scope for a move for Sturridge now that Chelsea have signed Lukaku? Your thoughts Ed?

{Ed042's Note - Recycled rumours from what I can tell, nothing of real substance just yet mate}

just read pardew saying he will use the 5.5mil? from jose and increase our bid for LB Pieters to 7mil which is what PSV said they wanted from the start. If true and that is a big if Common sence has finally prevailed.

Barton on way to QPR agent agreed terms

Believable6 Unbelievable27

Bollocks

{Ed042's Note - There is an offer on the table, no sign he accepted anything though}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cwarrshole has just reported it so i guess bartons about to sign a new contract with us haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would so love that to be true and be done with barton's circus once and for all

Haha.Barton to Qpr.
Im not suggesting were Real Madrid,
but why would he ever go there.?

Just been told that Nicky Maynard is on his way to newcastle for a medical in a £5 million move to be completed Friday

Believable19 Unbelievable18

If this happened he would be our equivalent to Cameron Jerome. Aka turd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great.. Championship football again next season

Agree0 Disagree0

"Just been told" also known as JUST MADE UP. If they were spending£5M it wouldn't be on Maynard....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

"just been told" is how rumours get spread and how we get to know so not all "just been told" are made up steve. You always have a go at people who post. Not good mate Argue with people elsewhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say am a fan of maynards do not know y we dont go for him yeah no prem exp put not like we would be pay 8 mil plus add ons like smb for him about 3-4 but 5 mil noway would be worth a shout cos he has got some skill this boy ed wat you think

Agree0 Disagree0

There seems to be a lot of talk in Bristol about maynard going to Newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay NegHeads are you familiar with the phrase "greater than the sum of its parts" He might be unproven in the premiership but it's wether he works well in a partnership with a bigger stronger striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

You all slated the possible signing of Long saying no prem experience and as soon as he scores on his debut against man who your all shouting why didnt we sign him - shut up and support the team or at least what little we have left of one

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot haven't got two pennies to rub together man

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^bit like you and brain cells then^^^
I would be happy with anyone in at the min

Agree0 Disagree0

Toon fan living in Bristol here. Cant tell you guys if Maynard story is true but can tell you he is a quality player who seems to find scoring easy.Really hope this is true think you will be pleasantly surprised how well he would fit in, small and pacy ,perfect striker scores for fun.

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy looks quality.Low wages aswell.
So probably true.lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Brain cells, something which the majority of idiots don't seem to have when posting childish schoolboy rumours. What happened to all the big summer signings with the £35 million and the striker and lb wh were promised before saturday? That is why people call you deluded

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally would be really happy if we sign maynard as i think him and Best or Ba would be a great Partnership as hes clinical and can create from nothing too as well as being good and pacy + i think £5 mil would be a fair price for all concerned which means ashley will baulk and offer £2.5mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy cole and super mac came from lower league would be nice to have a hatrick

Agree0 Disagree0

To the anon poster who accuses me of being pedantic. Rumours need to be substantiated FFS. You can't just say "just heard". Whenever I've posted rumours I've named my source. All my rumours proved been correct or in process of happening. Including Forster & Harper going, and telling you all for the whole summer that N'Zog wouldn't be coming.....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly wouldn't pay him 5 pence to sign on. What is the point? We've already got a ton of useless strikers.

NE61Mag

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew has confirmed only today hes in advanced talks with Maiga so doubt that

Agree0 Disagree0

This lad is a good player scoring goals all the time in the championship which is of the same standard as the french league where we seem to be shopping and it would be nice to have more british players in our team Support the toon know matter what

Agree0 Disagree0

You are pedantic If a rumour was substantiated then it would be a fact and not a rumour "just heard" is the substance of rumours therefore you can say just heard or otherwise it should be reported as a fact and im not anon for any other reason than my ego doesnt need massaging if the rumour ends up as true.....JKM,Spenny

Believable17 Unbelievable3

Its becomming a little bid scary that our side continues to say we have bid for these players and the opposition says its lies.

Thats now gameiro, Gervinho and Pieters where we have all been told we have bid for and they have been like nah you didnt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope they can agree a fee soon, we need a quality LB

Agree0 Disagree0

Why am i not surprised at yet more lies ,they should rename us netto utd ,everything on the cheap.

Joke as usual.Any other club wouldn't of let Enrique go without a replacement.First derby game In a long time Im not looking forward to.

getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of transfer activity on the last few days. Any news on potential arrivals?

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Its coz that Fat greddy T**T we have as an owner won't put his hands in his pockets.... The Fat controller has no ambition... At this rate we'll be lucky to survive relegation nevermind finish in the top 10... bring back Freddy Shepard... All is forgiven

{Ed042's Note - Haha and the award for most ridiculous statement of the morning goes to... understand the frustration mate even if I dont agree with parts of it, but bring back Freddie Shepherd? we wouldnt have a club to support if he had continued running the show}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rob Elliot, the 25 Year old goalkeeper, is set to sign from Charlton Athletic for a nominal fee today.

Nice to see we have our priorities sorted out...

Agree0 Disagree0

I know i'm gonna get stick for this and, believe me, I do love NUFC and have supported them for 34 years BUT..... The fat controller as people call him has, in all honesty, stuck his hand in his own pocket quite a few times for Newcastle, and the note from ED is correct, where would we have been if Freddy was still in charge? Far worse, i think.

I would like to see new signings as much as the next NUFC fan, but I honestly dont see much happening in the next couple of weeks. I can also understand the frustration for us supporters, we want to see the new signings, we know whats needed at our club, but until new owners come in, or the club is steadied completely, i'm afraid it's just not gonna happen.

Let's all try getting behind the team eh? we've the Mackems coming up, and as much as I hate to admit it, it's gonna be a close one.... Lets all pull together, support the Lads and be that "extra signing" we all crave.....

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather be in our shoes rather than Evertons

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not as if Cashley is skint. I thought he was a businessman. Surely a bit more money now (in his terms) on a quality LB and a striker will pay for themselves in the long-run.

If he wasn't prepared to make the investments and at least try to keep within sight of the more successful clubs, why buy a premiership football team in the first place? Why not sell to some fat cat who can give us fans what we deserve?

Sick of all of these "he's trying to run it like a business" excuses. Bollocks. NUFC could be a potential gold mine to any owner. He just doesn't have a clue about football.

Agree0 Disagree0

I havent got a problem with Ashley running the club as a business but lets not forget we have support the club during his regime through thick and thin. More importantly, lets also remember the many false promises of reinvesting the Carroll money and only last week both Pardew and Lardarse assured us of new signings. They are a disgrace

Agree0 Disagree0

And Freddy Sheppard did have a clue about business did he ? A man that ran our club into massive debts that nearly crippled us? A man that paid 17m for sick note michael owen and then let him walk for a free ?

Yup we were much better off then .....

Agree0 Disagree0

And i bet you are a multi-millionaire also by that comment, you stick your hand in your pocket and invest some cash.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a though, did anyone stop to think that they might actually be trying to bring players in, to be fair to ashley & co, they have brought in 5 decent players and if you include ben arfa and gosling that's 7 players for an overall transfer fee of around 15 mil not including wages, i think they are trying to bring players in but clearly they don't want to break the bank, and whats wrong with that.

anyone else agree with what i've said?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really
they cant be bothered spend some any money on decent players so we will just keep bringing in players from lower leauges
WE VE HAD 8 MONTHS TO GET A DECENT STRIKER AND I STILL DONT SEE ONE

Agree0 Disagree0

I do. I was thinking about the peiters scenario, is 6 mil too much for someone who hasn't played in the Premier league? If we can pick up Tiote from the dutch league just after he played in the world cup, why should we spend more than double that to bring in a left back. I don't think he would have the impact tiote had. But then he might. If it was Football Manager I would probably pay the money, but it isn't. Doesn't stop it being incredibly frustrating, but still better than getting Man Utd rejects.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm all for not breaking the bank and paying silly money but come on we really are in dire need of a LB and striker any fool can see that. If they are really trying far enough but if there is a sound reason for not bringing them in all we ask is they talk to us without lying and taking us for mugs.Just watched Pards on sky sport giving a press conference all the same waffle as normal no new info and no assurances that Barton will stay either , why bother if there's nothing new or positive to say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think pardew is messing you about, you might be linked with these decent names but it seems you are putting in poor offers, I think he is just doing it to keep you lot abit quiet and at the end will just get someone cheap in and you will be left disapointed, honest opinion think of it what you will

Agree0 Disagree0

"And i bet you are a multi-millionaire also by that comment, you stick your hand in your pocket and invest some cash....."

Correct. I'm not Mike Ashley, a billionaire and would never even pretend to be. I don't buy football clubs. You're happy with the current state of NUFC? What a fan.

any transfers coming before the weekend? Time is running out for the mackem game.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Dont think so:( im starting to think theres not gonna be any more this window...

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seem to get this horrible feeling that we aint gunna get no one... prob end up with ryan taylor filling in at left back, which while he coped against arsenal he will be seen as a vulnerable position by any manager with half a brain (need a strong left back), and obertan playin up front (may not be a bad idea as he has that pace to cause serious damage to any defence)

Agree0 Disagree0

Disgraceful. The Fat man is taking our eyes out. False promises as ever. Pardew has no backbone at all. I am disgusted especially with such an important match coming up

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't really judge until the end of the window. Concluding transfers takes a long time - there's a lot of negotiation and paperwork involved.

What we should have been told is that there may not be any new signings before the mackem game - rather than to get our hopes up.

Who knows, we may see developments later today or even tomorrow - don't forget, the Marveaux and Obertan signings came relatively out of the blue...as has this Rob Elliott if he comes.

I believe that the club will have justification in keeping transfer developments quiet.

If we end the window with no new signings, then I stand corrected.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will have no new signings for the weekend well bar a new keeper, funny thing is on monday we had three bloody good keepers, and as far as i can see we NEED a LB and TWO strikers one is never gonna be enough.. we are going down this season i can Feel it i just feel bad for the new lads who walked into this LIE, with any luck they have relegation clauses in their contracts .....

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Right all time 2 chill out I want to see signing like everyone else however at this early stage to say we're going down is just panic, we aren't in the worst three teams by a fair way

Agree0 Disagree0

Relegation talk is heavily premature without a new LB and CF we have no chance of being anything more than Mediocre i think we can all agree however with those two signings we could sneak europe my money is on top eight with a LB and CF or 11-15 without but i believe well survive as if we are on target to go down i believe ashley will spend £££ to rectify (purely coz its bad business to get relegated)

{Ed042's Note - Well done lad, was questioning logical reasoning there for a while}

Situ the trialist CB scored 2 Ranger and Vuckic with the others id say get Situ signed up big strong youth international def one for the Near future
