Hi all, not a rumour as such, I saw Roy Carroll (yes the ext Man U, Northern Irish GK) on Lobley hill road yesterday afternoon, completely baffled as to why he's here as he still plays for Olimpiakos! Does anyone have a clue why he would be in the area? As far as I know he has no ties to this neck of the woods! (Not that I'm by any means a Roy Carroll expert) not making this up genuinely seen him, he drives a Mercedes CLK with private reg something along the lines of ROY C1, had my head done in trying to work out why he would be up here, poss GK coaching role? Who knows :)

He used to see a lass from Gateshead I know as I went there after although that sounds wrong!

IMO we should keep Simpson in the squad, last 2 prem games he's started in we've kept a clean sheet, debuchy is over rated.

He has been ok in the last 2 games but not so clever in the last 52 games debuchy will get better

Over rated. Didn't we read that same statement when Jose Enrique first arrived. Give people a chance to settle and find their feet. You don't become a french international by being overrated. As for Simpson tries hard but so does Jonas and he is awful.

France are hardly an amazing team. and he's only sagnas backup

Debuchy is picked ahead of Sagna.

1. Yes, your right, they play along side other poor players such as Benzema, Ribery, etc.
2. Do you know where France is? Probably not, your version of playing in Europe is when you play Cardiff, or Swansea.

Some people on here just need to stop being so fickle. Its ridiculous. Just because of one season that makes our squad a mid table or relegation fighting team, but its not. On paper our squad is a top 8 side, better than everton's. i've done this many times before, people just need to do a little bit of research on players that we have in our strongest 11. e.g M'biwa was linked for 18MILLION to ac milan and man united. Krul is wanted by barca. Cisse's scored 13gls in his first 14 games in the premier league which is one of the hardest leagues in the world. Cabaye is now rated at 18-25m and wanted by arsenal and man united. Tiote on top form is the best defensive midfielder in the prem. Ben Arfa, I really don't need to say much about him, but 30m link with psg. Coloccini, fantastic centre back, immense against west ham. Debuchy, a regular first team starter for a top international side. Sissoko is now being rated at 15-18m, and was previously wanted by spurs and juventus. Just you know, don't let the table tell you everything because it doesn't. We are where we are because of:
1) Pardew was not backed by the board.
2) Had to delay Ba's departure by playing him up top, when 442 doesn't work with him and cisse up front.
3) Injuries, no luck.
4) Europa league to deal with.
5) Pardew not managing the team properly, as a result, players not performing up to their standards (Like I said at the beginning of the post)

And don't call me deluded because its the truth. This club is one of the biggest clubs in england and deserves to be near the top 8 with the loyal and passionate fans its got.

Sissoko was already rated at 15-18m. we only got him so cheap because he had no more time on his contract. PSG would be willing to pay 30m for benny. Tiote silenced rooney last year.

who would pay any big money for players who are clinging onto premier league football by the skin of their teeth, no guts, no teamwork, no flair, no commitment. no top teams would touch our players. probly only krul would command a fee of 10 million, nobody else would!
