Wouldn't be too bothered if Gervinho went to Arsenal but couldn't say the same if N'zogbia went to Sunderland really want to see him back at Newcastle I can also see why alot of fans don't want him back but I beleive he has matured on and off the field.
Also if Pardew wants him at Newcastle I think he will have to hurry up if Martinez gets Villa job then I can imagine him trying to sign him.
Also would love to see Menez at toon but can't see it happening shame seen him for France against Brazil awhile back and he tore them apart this lad has teckers.

Wow mate! Can I borrow your crystal ball, i want to put a few numbers on the lottery. Let me guess, are you Alan Pardew's nephew? No one knows about where Gervinho is goin apart from him. If anyone else knew, it would be all over the internet. Just because arsenal are a stronger side, it doesn't mean that Gervinho has chosen them over us, it just makes it more likely. {Ed010's Note -You're confused, well that makes two of us lol. Over the last 10 days, I have "edited" post after post from Toon fans, claiming that Gervinho was a "done deal". There have been just as many posts providing dates when this "done deal" was to be made official at a Newcastle press conference. Unfortunately for Newcastle fans, these dates have all come and gone and still no Gervinho at St James Park.

If nothing else, this whole episode only goes to prove that most of the posts on this site are, what they are meant to be, rumours and speculation. Gervinho may still become a Newcastle player but only once Alan Pardew cements the deal and only then, will it become general knowledge.

Its so annoying. I'm not a fan of Ashley by any means, I've disagreed with plenty of his antics, especially the sacking of Hughton. But at the same time he's done a lot for us financially. Its just irritating that people are writing off our summer transfers, and even our Premier League status next season before the window even opens. Speculating on how we're only buying players to sell them on, its all just stupid assumptions.

Why would gervinho come to Newcastle. We are not in champions league, not even in a European competition, nowhere near getting a top six premier league finish and we don't pay big wages.

Not saying much about the aspirations of the player if he I'd going leave Lille( a champions league side now) to go to Newcastle( a mid table premier league side) with no chance of getting in the champions league.

Stop being a pessimist. Lille are going nowhere in the Champions League anyway, they'll be lucky to make it through the groups. Plus the EPL is a far more lucrative league then the French league. If he does well here his future prospects are good.

Ngog not moving to Sunderland from LFC, because Newcastle came in with late bit of £7.75m. LFC have accepted the bid. I am told Ngog having medical at NUFC on Tuesday.

Let's face it the bottom line is that NUFC will get rid of Barton, Smith and Nolan (the heartbeat and leaders of the dressing room) and replace with ordinary untested cheap foreign players, we will lose all the team spirit that has been their over the last 2 seasons and end up with a split dressing room that when or if results start to go against us do not have the heart or desire to fight for our club!

As for Barton, Smith and Nolan. . lemme start with Smith - on ridiculous wages, and barely moves off the bench when he isn't injured, would you prefer we keep him or get rid of him and use his wages towards another player. Nolan - absolute legend at Newcastle. .however wanting a 5 year contract when he's already 28. .come on he can barely run as it is. .or should we keep him around and pay him wages to end up on the bench like Smith. .i guess that's what you want. Barton. .he has had 2 good seasons. .1 in the PL. .and he causes way too much controversy. .and he aint getting any younger either. Don't get me wrong i'd love to see Barton and Nolan stay a couple more years. .but if they want longer contracts, that's their bad.

What happened with this press conference that was supposed to of happened yesterday eh?? You geordie's are arrogant tossers, Gervinho, Gamerio, Drogba not coming, you linked with young nonamed lads and championship players. face it you not the club you were 16 years ago and should stop living in the past. I said from the start you won't get much money off Ashley and with him and Pardew in charge you won't move forward. Ok toon fans give me three good reasons why Gervinho would join Newcastle United over Arsenal?

3. Going to a team on the up, rather than a team in decline.

There are a few reasons, not necessarily meaning we will sign him, but it depends how the player sees things.
If he wants to be a player that is used every now and then by a champions league team, infront of a library of a stadium then he will pick Arsenal.
