As a dedicated toon fan I feel I must say that we have to stop beating around the bush with players in the main team .players like Mike williamson he is as you know a waste of time, look at the points he cost us last season,we need players that are up to the job that are reliable ,no room for sentiment. If we are serious in advancing,we need to move now and invest in players that yes are young but have the capabilities to move this club foreward. Mike is not a premiership player lets move on.Taylor is magnificent in defence with Colo lets try and improve on what we have achieved which in itself is magnificent but come on one and all let this club breathe and achieve what is long overdue some SILVERWHARE?.

Hags....

Yes agree we need a good centre back (in case of injury etc) and a good right back

Debuchy and Sakho should do the trick

I think we should go in for Jordan Willis of Coventry City. He's 17 and i'd say he could have played with Big Man(Bigirimana) when he was at Coventry. Could be one for the furture. And he plays Centre-Back.

Do you think we could have any chance in buying Sturridge from Chelsea. He might be after first team football.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Would love to see him at the club, and if we have the money to buy Luuk De Jong then we should spend it on Sturridge instead who is proven in the EPL. Wages may be a stumbling block though?

Agree3 Disagree1

Sturridge is supose to be available for 16 million as the players agents is apparently touting him about....personally if we took a little bit of cash and him for tiote say 4 to 5 million then that would be good buisness i think as we would of saved on a striker of roughly 10 million and got a small fee aswell. then buy another midfielder who wont get as many cards...good bit of buisness i think........k

Agree2 Disagree4

In regards to person above wanting sturridge and 4-5 mill for tiote, i think thats bad business, Chelsea are the team that wants tiote so we shouldnt be the 1s cutting the deal, if they say how much we should say give us 25 mill or 10 mill and sturridge, think we be shooting ourselves in foot for 4-5 mill, plus the fact tht sturridge is very greedy, selfish and wages would be massive. im still happy at the mo with benny ba and cisse as attacking 3............really would like us to go back for gamiero pay 8m for him, he'd bite ur hand off for a 2nd chance

Agree2 Disagree1

Dont want gamiero he had his chance we where not enough then so he,s not good enough now.....and rumour as it that spurs fancy tiote for 15 to 17 million....also patrick viera who has some sort of advice job at man city have said city should buy him...sturridge and 5 million would be good buisness we would have 10 million profit and 5 million in the bank with a decent striker...so the 10 million we where spending on de long is save....it all adds up....

Agree0 Disagree2

Advice job? Viera is one of their most important staff members.
15 million for Tiote? Jog on, he's worth ~25 million but Ashley wouldn't let go for anything under 30.
Sturridge is talented, but whiney and disruptive, the kind of palyer we like to avoid.

Agree2 Disagree1

Been a too fan since 1987 every home game most away games all wembley trips and honestly do no think we woulg get 25 to 30 million for tiote he his a very good player but normally mis 5 games a season due to suspension and if theres an acon due or qualifier then we lose for quite a few....finally slyspurts said 15 million yesterday to spurs so you JOG ON...

Agree0 Disagree0

If man city wanted Tiote, I would ask for no money:- Johnson, Richards and guddetti that would give us a talented winger, good RB who can cover at CB and a young striker who would be cover off the bench

Agree1 Disagree1

Well if Sly sports say £15m it's got to be true lol

It seems as we have given up hope on De Jong and nothing is happening when it comes to Debuchy or Douglas. Ed will there be any key signings this window or will we have to live with what we already got? As it is now I can only find rumours about our big players leaving and none about a big name signing. I will be very worried if we do not upgrade our squad with at least 3 players (or more if we sell more players). {Ed001's Note - I doubt the club will buy any big name signings, it will be the same as the last few windows, buying prospects at a good price.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With big I mean people like Cisse, Cabaye or Ba which go directly in to the starting line up. I don´t expect us to buy a BIG name like Silva or Özil. Ed do you believe we will see any names come in that will come and get a start against Spurs?
