just found this on net and dont think nzogbia will be back as this is what dave whelan thinks of mike ashley
Ashley turned whistleblower on industry rivals in 2000, handing the Office of Fair Trading evidence of business meetings held by sports retailers to fix the price of football shirts. Ashley attended a meeting at the Cheshire home of David Hughes, the chairman of now bankrupt rival Allsports. At the meeting Dave Whelan, the founder of JJB Sports, reportedly told Ashley: "There's a club in the north son, and you're not part of it."[18]

10 years ago that when ashley decided to grass so he sports companys would struggle and he would start buying them up which is what he did

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like his upset more people than newcastle supporters

Agree1 Disagree0

Whistle blowing on a consortium of clubs for not following the law and which in turn was damaging your own company isnt grassing Its what all law abiding business people should do in that situation and its morally correct in everyway

Agree1 Disagree0

All major sports retailers had a secret handshake about replica shirt prices and ashley had went behing every ones back and went wistle blower yes it was 10 years ago this made most sports retailers struggle like jjb etc and ashley pounced buying a load of clubs up and it made hime a fortune effectivly he grassed but who cares..

I think we all need to realise that the days of paying 10 million plus are gone. Ashley wont allow it and we wont pay hight wages anymore.

it's time for Ashley to get just a little, of them billions of pounds he owns, and give it to Alan pardew, and let him spend it without anyone else getting involved in the back. then we should have a chance of getting at least one top proven striker

I personally want to see someone like Kevin Doyle, Chamakh, Defoe, Agbonglahor, Sturridge, Welbeck, Odemwingie kind of player to go with Ba someone who is proven and has flair about hem its risky going for the Bangura's and Long

I don't want to get drawn in to the debate about the Scottish Prem cos I kno it's not the best league, but that doesn't mean there aren't some quality players there.

I mean look at Adam, couldn't get his game for Rangers now he's signed for Liverpool

Anyway, point with regards to the Toon is I am mates with David Goodwillie and he wd b available for 1.5-2m tops. He is 22 and a talented striker. I know he has had some issues outside of football but for our squad he wd b a cheap striker with goal scoring ability and defo potential

We defo still need a top striker like 1 that I mentioned earlier as well.

Tbh you could get hooper for about that price and u look at how many players from the spl have suceeded in the pl its very little other than izaguire who i rate the rest are pretty poor and id rather buy out of the championship than spl.

Agree0 Disagree1

Definately one of the few players I would like at Newcastle from SPL but only if we signed another striker along with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Hooper is defo good enough as well, but I can't see Celtic letting him go for any less than 5m. Same with Jelavic.

reading a lot of the comments on here we are giving up on wanting quality players who will add to our team and are happy to settle for "ashley" type signings i.e cheap but with possible future resale value. has everyone forgotten liverpool when they were buying cheyrou and loads of other average players for 4-5 mill.led to the fall of the team and manager.
we are a club who deserve class players who will grace our stadium not mediocre players to help us survive.
our fan base and passion should be attracting top players but i feel our owner puts doubts into the heads of these players with his policies.
i agree the club was badly run before but an outlay now for a couple of proven players could establish us again in the top flight where i feel settling for survival coud backfire badly.

Ashley quoted as saying this year is about staying in premiership - what happened to ambition - we have always been a club players wanted to come too so why all the unknown frenchies - surely we can still attract players from premiership - we should be competing for the players that are being signed up at the moment - think we are heading for a struggle

you know nothing mate, these players (marveux mainly) were ovbiously know to liverpool. also why pay more for a player who isnt as good just because hes english. like s downing is not worth more than 8 mill and stupid figures are being quoted just cuz hes english. who would you rather have
downing 14-18 mill
nzogbia 10-12 mill

5under1and looking to sign Take That, after realising this is the only way they can fill the stadium of light

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Bet ye wish big mike would sign them i would have them at sol every year how much money has gone into club, maybe this is what sunderland have used to make recent signings but there again big mike wouldn't put money back into club

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol. proper chuckle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Smb we can fill the club the normal way you muppet..maybe if they have a sigh on day that would work for ya, s...smb

Agree0 Disagree0

There again ye dont own ye ground so ye would have t share the profits

Agree0 Disagree0

It's you not "ye"

Agree0 Disagree0

SAFC will only be paid arond 30 to 40 thousand pound for letting the stadium to music concert or promo companies Not exactly player signing money is it? Most of the money made goes into a tour kitty that is then shared with the band/group, managers, planners and other linked companies

Agree1 Disagree0

So to fill sid james park or the sportsdirect site screwcastle pay your fans to turn up or does Ashley tell you all their is a circus on and guess what there is a comedy circus going on at the landfill site right now

Agree0 Disagree0

You only own your ground you smb as its a sh*t hole and no one else wants to be there our grounds looks and is twice the size of yours man

i've been reading peoples comments on here for ages..we can all talk about who the toon are going to sign .but the point is we'll never know untill the deals are done....question for every one who uses this site .. do you think we've got all the players in ..or is there more to come ...but it aint over till the fat man sings..be cushty to hear other peoples thoughts ...hwtl

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think its all done Puppet Pardew now saying he would be happy to start season with current squad, so basically we couldnt kill teams off last season bcos of lack of a top striker and this season we will go with Shola and Ba?? Well theres Nolans goals covered, between them, what about Carrolls? If the fat controller thinks everyone will be happy with a championship striker for about 5m, Long, then he wants to have a reality check
