Can somebody please tell me how QPR can sign 2 or 3 players in aday and a half yet Newcastle cant manage even one we're linked with. Is this not all the proof we need that there will be no and never was gonna be any signings.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

The answer is they didn't they signed JB but their admin fouled up with Young. Nufc are not alone in the tranfer jungle.

Agree1 Disagree1

QPR are panic buying , in the long run relegation is on the horizon for them Graeme Carr is a top scout that's the way to go .............

Agree3 Disagree2

I agree Tottenham seem to be struggling to sign people, it's because Players are wanting alot of wages to transfer, and not many clubs have the ability to pay.

Agree0 Disagree0

well got a fiver double on sunderland 0 0 and newastle 0 0 as both couldnt score in a brothel at the moment get ye selves a fiver on all newcastle games 0 0 and ye will make a profit already 40 up and should have had another 35 if it wasnt for that flook goal last week take heed no striker ye cant score but ye defence not that bad if ye back short odds lump on newcastle not to score in every game this year and it will buy ye season ticket for championship next year

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Goal was no fluke. Who do you follow anyway?

Agree1 Disagree0

Aha Jim lad shiver ye timbers me thinks we either got a black dog or a black cat aboard.Robert Louis Stevenson would have been proud of that post

Agree0 Disagree0

What possible logic would persuade a sfm to come on and critisize goals for Nufc? Stupid me he wants to divert attention from the fact that Safc have scored 1 goal in FOUR matches.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2011 20:44:00
no big signings coming to the toon couldn't up ye offers for the lad from swansea offering measley 1mill same about long and nzogbia then 100k for charlton goalie ye might have the french lads believing ye a big club but enrique carroll barton nolan and routledge know the truth all leaving feeling sorry for the fans who are in the top 6 in the country. realisation time lads the good old days have gone and until ma goes they wont be coming back

Believable4 Unbelievable5

And yet you still cudnt beat us haha saddest of mackum b**tards you like pal, I'd worry about your mounting debt and failure to produce on the pitch b4 u start talking about us

Agree3 Disagree1

Yeh we are still good enough to beat the mackems and r the only club in the pr not to concede a goal and the fact is we are close to completing the signing of a top class left back in pieters and are also holding talks with cisssokho and hope to secure a deal for nolanroux as well.

Agree3 Disagree0

Good signings 2 left backs and moulin rouge maybe one of them is going to replace collo who is on his way out and why do ye put everyone who comes on here posting the truth down as mackems have you got a fear of them as both will be in relegation fight anyway

Agree0 Disagree4

The makem is on our site cos civil war has broken out on Safc rumours.
So many tears the met office have issued a flood warning for the Wear.

Agree5 Disagree0

Top six fan's......name the other 5 who are better ....I hope your not putting us in with the glory hunters of Liverpool and Manchester

Agree0 Disagree1

Coz u are a sad mackem all yaz ever talk snouts Newcastle always have done it's either jealousy or yaz r secret toon fans, anyway I wouldn't Try and be clever if I was you coz iv heard murmurings that Ellis short is getting sick ov bankrolling you jokers which could end in disaster for yaz, o and 1 0

If Newcastle get found guilty of tapping players up and we get a transfer embargo. Ashley will be a happy man.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

No because then he can't sell either lol

Agree1 Disagree1

Ye got no one left to sell who would want any of whats left ye best players have deserted a sinking ship

Agree0 Disagree2

Is that why your ship is already sunk and your mottley crew are floundering after
Bent,Henderson,Malbranque,Jones,Zenden,Collins all jumped ship.

Agree3 Disagree0

How is nufc a sinking ship, yes we've sold some good players but we've also signed some. unlike 5under1and we haven't conceded a goal and have 4 points from 2 games and are still in the carling cup, whereas, 5under1and got knocked out by brighton and have 1 point from 3 games. if you ask me it is 5under1and that is the sinking ship.

Agree3 Disagree0

I dont know where you get your information from but sunderland are far from in debt stadium paid off (yes we own ours we dont rent it unlike others aherm) and all transfers paid for by money made from sold players. we might be in a slump at the moment but debt we are not in unlike youselves ashley for primeminister

Agree1 Disagree0

You conceded a goal against fulham 2day, you have krul to thank again just like against Scunthorpe

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you,ll find we have no debt person and we actually make profit every year and thats with out the carrol fee check financial times if you can read...and you might own you ground but lets be honest it would fit inside of ours and you only paid 25p and 3 bags of crisps to buy your land have you actually seen where it is..they still keep coal in the bathrooms and horses in the bedrooms up there....

Agree0 Disagree0

So the council own a bigger and better stadium than Sunderland. LOL

Lots of rumours around Erik Pieters joing sometime next week, but also talksport say we are in advanced talks with Lyon for Cissokho, hopefully we get Cissokho but Pieters is a good option too. Now ED any news on a new striker coming in, havn't heard anything but the Nolan Roux one?
ToonThomas

{Ed042's Note - Once again ha French media have reported that we have met release clause and is waiting approval from Brest and Lens too as they are due a 50% sell on fee.. as for other strikers, couple of rumours, Maynard, Defoe, but nothing of substance to back them up}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Yeh it would be good if some people read the previous rumours

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2011 16:21:58
Hi Ed just wondering if there is any chance we could sign both Cissoko and Pieters as we seem to be still in for both? Is Pardew now considering Pieters as cover for centre half? also i here we have met the release clause in Rouxs contract, what is he like as i have never seen him play?

{Ed042's Note - Keep answering this haha, I cant see us signing both, would be over the moon if we did but I think it will be one or the other... as for Roux, reports from France say we have met his release clause and it is awaiting approval from Lens too as they are due 50% sell on clause.. would be very happy if we do sign him, bit of development needed on aspects of his game but has phenomenal work rate from what I have seen of him, very pacey, good on both feet, tall lad too so can challenge in the air, would be the type of striker we need}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2011 15:49:50
barton did not join 5under1and cause he had to much respect for the toon army and lets be honest why would he.it would be a major step backwards for him

Ed why haven't Newcastle looked fully into Tim Matavz he seems to have a lot of potential.

I personally would take anyone at the minute would love to see us sign any of Ruiz, Roux, Matavz.

{Ed042's Note - Haha I dont know mate tbh, I`m not Carrs boss.. yeah i`d be with you on all three, all good players, Roux the most likely and has a lot of potential}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

just get one thing straight. demba ba and cheik tiote have been fasting for ramadam, its there religion to do it in agust. it means they cannot have food or drink from sunrise to sunset. maybe that explains why demba ba and tiote have been out of sorts recently

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Maybe they just s'''''e

Agree1 Disagree2

Maybe you should keep your pig headed ignorant comments to yourself. SMB

Agree4 Disagree1

Im fasting at the minute and it is hard. it is easy watching films and following the transfer situation but it is hard when playing football or any other sports. he looks slow because he needs energy the reason why he didn't start against sunderland cause he was fasting and through midday and it will make him thirsty and hungry to play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh if you can only draw with swansea that makes certainly makes u certain of relegation.

just looked into the stats of nolan roux last year scored 6 in 26 apps in frances top league, the season before 15 goals in 28 apps but that was in frances version of the championship, for 8m seems alot, personally would like maynard who seems a cheaper and more prolific option...del

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Sounds like that musical mate moulin rouge

Agree0 Disagree0

He has much more to his game so don't judge him on his strike rate. He works hard for the team and also has excellent movement.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2011 14:17:52
ye must be gutted at sjp all ye best players gone collo could be next and all ye brought in are untried players from french league but i give ye one thing ye all putting a brave face on and believe in ye team more that can be said about other teams but if that striker doesn't arrive it could be doom and gloom

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Who said they are our best players who have gone, its all about opinions we've got a player to replace nolan in taylor over the top who scores against the smbs lol

Agree1 Disagree1

So you think taylor will be your top scorer this season? god i really hope your right cos that would mean certain relegation mad max

Agree2 Disagree2

Don't think yous SMB's are in the best position to judge at the moment are yous.

Agree4 Disagree1

Top goal scorer will be ben arfa or demba ba

Agree2 Disagree0

Mate we done you smb and if they do that for the toon they will do for us joey turned you down he turned you down sounds great cant wait until we get u smb at the toon for another thumping steve b is a geordie agent

I've given myself time to reflect, following the Carling Cup match and concluded the following;
1) just when I thought it wasn't possible to find a player who had a worst first touch, less mobility and slower pace than Shola- we have 2 in BA and Best.
2) Gosling (who weve being waiting ages to see play) lost possession everytime he received the ball
3) Marveaux looked lost (jurys still out on Cabaye)
4) Lovenkrands isnt worthy of a squad number
5) Sami, Vuckic showed decent potential- but must not be introduced gradually to premier lg football.
6) Colo is consistently our best player (can we keep him?) Impressed with S Taylor, and Krul's form too.
7) without Tiote to hold the centre mid. were totally unballanced

QED- Weve GOT to sign a striker with pace (who can hit the target)- all current ones too similar, not ruthless enough, otherwise the days of scoring 4,5 or 6 goals in a game are gone- unless R Taylor gets a hat-trick of freekicks oh.... and a left back PLEASE

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Basically mate youve just concluded that your talking out your arse and have nothing good to say about our football team. if youve got nowt good to say dont say it nd stop clogging up this site with negatives get behind ya bloody team nd stop slagging every single player off

Agree2 Disagree2

Marveaux looked lost for f*** sake give the lad a chance, hes just come back from being injured, its his first competitive game,to be honest a thought he did ok

Agree3 Disagree2

Marveaux had a great game only gave the ball away once or twice and gosling did well aswell, Ba is shoudnt of been playing because of ramadan. so stop bein a negative d**k.

Does anyone know (Ed or others) if either Cissokho or Pieters can also operate at right back or centre back? (Didn't Pieters play at CB last week?).

Just a thought because we seem to be pursuing both equally with no sign that it just one from two. (Of course that is just my opinion, not fact).

Dom.

{Ed042's Note - Pieters can play CB, dont think either can play RB}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Cheers Ed.

I was just wondering because we've lost Sol Campbell, Kadar is off the radar (see what I did there?) and Williamson is injured - not to mention various rumours about Colo leaving. We've added Darnel Situ but it still leaves us short in the middle even when williamson recovers.

So...unlikely as it may seem...are we actually about to blow a big chunk of cash on both Cissokho and Pieters and possibly Santon too?

Dom.

{Ed042's Note - Haha i`m optimistic lad but not that optimistic, if we got in one of the three i`d be happy enough, any more than that and I would do a jig!.. would be shocked if Colo went this window tbh}

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2011 12:27:55
Bout time 2 goals (both championship) in 60 odd games is shocking and when u consider all the sitters he's missed eg against westham 2 yards out .. pathetic excuse for a professional footballer

Woy you on about ?

Got to remember that they was 10m Euros which is roughly £9m, I reckon a deal can be done for £7.5-8m which would be about 8.5 - 9m Euros.

With Joey now gone what are the thoughts on another loan deal for Stephen Ireland?

I'm concerned at the lack of British players we have after losing AC, KN, WR and JB and think we need to at least sign 1 British player.

Any of the following:
Alan Hutton - £3m
Wayne Bridge - Loan
Shaun Wright Phillips - £2m
Darron Gibson - £4.5m
Jermain Defoe - £6m
Daniel Sturridge - Loan

Geo

Believable4 Unbelievable6

What difference does it make if we have british players or not u clown players come and go whether they r british or not but the club will always be there as long as the players we got are good enough it should not make a difference if they are british or not

Agree8 Disagree0

Stephen Ireland and Darren Gibson are both Irish, not British.

exactly 120 hours to sign a lb and striker. this is a p*sstake. Ashley should had just given the £35m to pardew and let him spend it on players Instead of hiding in a mansion pulling the rope on all the potiential deals. hate him.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Actually 5m went on upgrading the stadium and training ground

27 Aug 2011 10:40:46
For weeks now ppl have been saying wait till the end if the window well there's under 4 days left now, can anyone honestly see us bringing in anymore than one player in that time if any at all, it's about time we realised Ashley has nice again Filled everyone with false hopes

Believable2 Unbelievable1

The Fat B*****D is taking the P**S. The sooner he goes the better, lining his pockets is all he thinks of,window closing? Lets hope Fatso doesnt sell Colo and Tiote before it does

Agree1 Disagree0

I still think we'll get a lb nothing else though

Agree0 Disagree1

A left back is no where near enough we've scored one goal from open play in 3 games n that was against Scunthorpe with all respect to them how are we gonna fair against prem opposition? Hope Ryan Taylor gets more free kicks we need at least 3 new players and that ain't gonna happen

27 Aug 2011 09:52:07
we should get Bryan Ruiz at any cost he is what the toon need so cashly find the money and get him we need this player

toon boy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Got him and Fernando Llorente upfront for me in FIFA both fast, skilled and prolific. Would have been like a partnership of Shearer and Henry (French amazing one. Not Wolves rubbish dirty one.). scores 50 goals between them.

Just wanted to get down a few things about the window this far, for the fans who seem to think we are weaker than last season.
Players out. Well the ones to start with are the ones who contributed nothing last year. Routledge, Campbell, Kuqi, Forster, Xisco, all no big loss (hardly realised they were at the club.
Players that contributed something:
Nolan- Was a great foil for Carroll when we were playing long ball football, but was shown up once Carroll was no longer in the team. His game was simply to be in the box when the ball was played in, did nothing in midfield as his passing is poor, and is too slow.
Enrique- Probably the player we will miss most, although he is not the best defensively. Good going forward, but relied on Jonas to cover his arse far too much, which took away from Jonas game of getting forward. Maybe a more defensive minded player will let Jonas of the leash more.
Barton- Love him, or loath him, good player, too much trouble, thinks he is better than he is, and has left due to money.

Players in;
Cabaye- Classy, passing midfielder who gets stuck in, French international, like him already.
Ba- Jury still out, but will get better with more game time, useful squad player.
Marveaux- Tricky winger, who looks decent, again will get better the more game time he gets.
Obertan- Quick, skillful, far better then Routledge, looking forward to him when fully up and running.
Combine this with the arrival of a couple of players (LB/ST), and we are already stronger as a team. Not to mention the return to fitness of Ben Arfa, and Gosling, as well as the gradual introduction of the young players Vuckic, Sami Ameobi, Abeid, Ferguson, who all look class.
So come on lads, lets not be to down in the dumps, we are gradually putting a fast, pacey, skillful side that will change the way we play to something a bit more exciting to watch. It will take time to fully come together but i am excited by this. (It could be worse, we could have signed a load of aging rubbish, and relegation players, SMB).
Col

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree but not sure we are going to get the type of striker, still think we need two that we need. The days are gone with a big target man like Ameobi and Ba, we need to clever quick strikers who will run the channels, close defenders down, link up with play and have the ability to either do something unexpectedly or atleast try when we as fans or the rest of the team need it. I am very happy with the signings of Cabaye, Marvereaux and Obertan. Ba we took because he was free so yes useful squad player. Like everyone else looking forward to seeing Ben Arfa fit (have my doubts about this as well, it maybe another season before we see him consistantly play). The likes of Ferguson, Vukic and Sammy Ameobi look good for the future and hopefully will get game time through the season. I can't see it happening but would love to see Santon at right back and either Peiters or Cissisko at left back. Taylor and Collo looking good. Williamson seems injury prone so maybe the yound centre half on trial. Simpson needs to go together with Smith, Lovenkrands and Best. Not sure Ashley would sanction the five signings in which I think would give us a really good squad and we don't seem to be able to get rid off Smith, Lovenkrands or Best

Agree2 Disagree0

Ferguson should come straight in for jonas he's so much better, if pardew has any bottle he'd give Harris and sammy a run of 10 games to show him what they can do. It isn't a massive gamble because we already know what the rest of the players ahead of them in the pecking order can do NOWT

Agree1 Disagree4

Finally we are getting some well thought out postings, whilst I might not agree with every opinion I must congratulate the man on the way he has gone about it.

i get sick of people telling me gosling is better than joey hes been injured for a year and what ive seen so far is not good ,vuckic has loadsa potential and lookin forward to seeing him play more, its easy to slag off players when theyve gone but joey would of been a 1st team regular and will be missed.
good luck.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

At this present time gosling is not better than barton but there is a reason everton were gutted he left because they had high hopes of him and rodwell bossin gthe midfield, hes still young and like you said been injured but i would be willing to bet any amount of money that when hes finally fully fit and got full match fitness then he will be outstanding for us just give the lad a break and let him get back into the swing of things. it was just a little injury but a serious 1 so like i said give him time

do i think barton will be missed yes and no he might have had a positive attitude in the dressing room and had a good season last year this year he has failed to deliver in my opinion think we have more than enough midfielders to step up like vuckic and abeid just hope we sign a striker and a lb soon cant see any of the strikers people have named on here coming and hope we dont end up with maynard or lallana think ba might come good once he is fully fit but ben arfa if he comes back the player we know boy are we in for some moments of genius

Personally i reckon Newcastle are trying to do a double swoop for pieters and tolivoen that's what the hold up is about

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Why would that cause a hold up? Offer what clubs want in fees and pay wages players want...no hold up

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2011 22:56:39
ed any news over the possible signing of aly cissokho? and do u recon that it is one of pieters and cissokho?

{Ed042's Note - Would imagine so. Talksport say we`re having talks with Lyon over the weekend about a deal but if the Pieters deal is basically done I would be shocked if we pursued Cissokho}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think we want cissoko and are using pieters to drive down the price

Agree1 Disagree0

I just wish we wud buy both, i mean i know it wont happen but we shud actually go for both, look at most sides they have 2 if not 3 in every position and im not delusional as i know it wont happen but we have lost our only lb and we shud have 2 so if 1 gets injured then we wont be playing people out of position, like i said i wud love both and we shud get both but i know we will only get 1
