The glass is half full again! Couple of thoughts: spending a lot of money hasn't done Spurs, or Liverpool, or Man U a lot of good. And last season there were a lot of people on here who thought Sammy was a dead loss.
Southampton and west ham also spent lots of money Vic. We had 30% possesion against a poor spurs team.
Positives are that the defence looks solid. Cabella finally produced something, good goals from sammy and perez.
We lack energy and fight, we need 11 players with sissokos attitude, that was a captains performance today.
we need to man mark at set pieces and got lucky today.
I wish we could see a 4 4 2
keep the back 4 as is, midfield of
cabella sissoko collback sammy
perez cisse
Desree despite the resuly you are absolutely right
Typical Pardew. His latest rant is that he knows what he is doing. I am not sure what game he watched, but planning on 30% possession, relying on the counter attack with no striker and spurs players having a shocker is not the strategy for success. He sounds like the bloke who wins once in a while at the bookies and brags to everyone in the pub.
Is Riviere injured lads or is he in the knackers yard too? I can't understand why you would play perez up font on his own?
But Pardew knows what he is doing!
{Ed002's Note - Injured.}
Actually Des Perez looked OK and it has to be something to build on Was I the only one who said he fancied a result at Spurs.
Another late night for you did you fall alsleep at half time as it was the 2nd win?
Bony was the striker we should have had but that is history now. so I suppose Mr knowall will rotate his now firing strikers and we will not get one in January.
If they at least play like they did in the 2nd half we have some sort of a chance but the next 2 games will show whether it is embarrassing or not.
I missed our first goal Vida. Perez did look ok but upfront on his own is a big ask. that's how you ruin good players.
bony would have been bought and sold by now mate had we gone in for him in 2012. I expect no one in january but tiote will be gonski

Desree: I don't disagree, but Southampton had no choice but to spend big after losing so many of their best players, and we spent slightly more than West Ham. My point was badly made. I've been banging on for ages about the need to give the kids a decent run, especially when there was nothing to play for since January. Obertan's had umpteen chances and one and a half goodish games, but Sammy, Perez, Haidara etc are the future and cost next to nowt. And another thing - a few posters have been slating Sissoko, but he's our next captain IMHO. And we might have seen the last of Tiote?
Think your right Vic. Even a few wins before January will see Ashley just plough the same tough and sell to buy quantity rather than quality.
Ashley has his advisers telling which plug to pull the only thing he is clever at is listening to them because none of them have any football idea only about money and how to make it work.
I expect very little over the next 4/5 games but yep the Puppet has to continue with thes youngsters adding Aarons and Armstrong to the mix, he must take heart after Sundays result.
We all seem to feel the same about the young lads. Steve Taylor also deserves a run in the team.
If tiote is going I'd like to see Bigi given a shot alongside Sissoko. Collback hasn't done enough to keep his shirt. He should have 3 goals this season.
I think Goufran needs a rest. I would like to see him tried as a forward playing off cisse. He would really hussle the defence and does have pace.
