cant see the point of this game against Sheff Wed on wednesday surely he won't play anyone who has been to Australia/New Zealand

Des it gives a chance to let the youngsters play Where is Briggy etc

Also it allows Pardew to make his first excuse of the season that the players are jet lagged, Sorry still can't see why a trip to NZ was necessary when there are teams in Europe that could provide better opposition.

Maybe it's the reason why we have so many friendly's this pre-season.
i guess not everyone will play. not sure when the WC participants are back from hols but at least it means they'll have enough games left to get sharpness back.
I think this will mostly be a game for fringe players.

Agree about New Zealand why that far for two ordinary games (must be PR) Van Gall was saying the same about Man Utd

I don't think the club cares about PR, it was simply because someone offered to pay for our travel and accommodation so Ashley said do it.

Saw today that the defense (Collo did well Colback did well and Elliot had a good game) but go into the Ceity game with this defense and we will get murdered,

Wellington were not a bad team but some of Newcastle's passing was woeful.

Yes shorn of Krull Janmatt and Santon but a Quality CB is needed and now. Mbwia and Haidera and Dummet were poor and these lads will be exploited week in week out if we continue with them.

The young lads did well and all deserve to be near the first team and conditioned to step up.
Look forward to Cabella Janmatt Sissisko all coming in and De Jong recovering quickly BUT vitall is a quality Striker.

Elliot's distribution was poor. Collo and M'Biwa got to start in defence, but I think pardew is happy with our current 4 centre backs, if I could i'd buy Dier or Lascelles and sell Taylor or Willo.

If Pardew champions league, then he's going to need to sign a striker like Lukaku, him and ashley make a statement.

Elliott's distribution was poor but not to dissimilar to Krulls It seems an inherent problem but he had a good overall game
To me he is weak and we need like at other clubs a goalkeeper to challenge Krull
If we do not cover these 2 critical positions CB and Striker we will struggle simple as that
