I think he is a good player but we have got players coming through who will do as good a job as joey if not better in vuckic and gosling.

We deserve a descent striker,I feel the club is being raped
year on year the same story in the transfer windows when were left high and dry.How many players have been mensioned on the blog this window,its sickening and on it goes.What gets me is how they keep defending Ashley and lambias?

The reason some people choose to defend them, me being one of them, is because we realise what they are doing is stabilising the club and making it possible to push on. they have spent alot of money in this window and are still trying to sign more players i.e. pieters, cissokho, maiga, roux, i expect the deal for pieters will happen but the strikers i'm not so sure. i believe the management/board think that young sammy ameobi has the potential to be the #9 we're looking for, but if we don't sign a striker it doesn't mean we won't in the next window. so maybe you and all the others that think they are screwing us over, should read what i've said and maybe you too will see what they're doing is good for the club.

Been raped mate am not the biggest fan of the board we have but i see the bigger picture and its not one of us getting raped your proply one these ppl that dosent even know wat is really going on in football by 2013 there will be such a thing as the financial fair play regulations which means every club must • Break-even requirement – clubs must not spend more than they generate over a period of time
• No overdues payable during the season – towards other clubs, employees and/or social/tax authorities
• Provision of future financial information – to ensure clubs can meet their future obligations these basicly takes away your ppl like sheikh mansour, roman abramovich the benefactors that put money into there teams we currently still dont meet these targets so while yous lot thing where getting raped where not the bigger picture is where preparing for the years to come

With regards to stabalising the club financially, why not ask for a fee for Barton? It may be Ashley's prerogative to buy and sell whomever he wishes but surely it would make sense to sell Joey rather than let him go on a free just because he had had enough of his twitter rants. With one year on his contract he must have been worth at least a couple of million.

To get rid of him thats y look not just ashley to blame on the joey front ok you also have to look at this way if joey didnt want to go he didnt have to he was still under contract and to be fair a thing it was also to deinflated his big head he was the one that sed that he would onl leave for a champ leg club and not even a top four club wanted him on a free

How can the club get a fee for Barton, he's given a free transfer and only the mighty QPR are interested so what makes you think someone is going pay for him? Also show's what the rest of the premier league think of him as a player.

To the guy who mentioned 2013 we coul be in Div one by then?

And we could be in the CL.

Just waiting to see what happened during the window we were very very poor against you but you werent much better unless we both sign strikers a long season lies ahead. you won the sprint but the marathon has only just begun i think christmas time we shall see who is making more progress bruce making strange team selections dont want to sound like a mag but sack the manager please mad max

Everyone bleating on about Barton,Enrique,Carroll and Nolan leaving think before you post. They ALL left because they are GREEDY BA****DS Money and nothing else. Barton Nolan say Nufc no Ambition? QPR and West Ham? Yeah right. If you are so keen on trying to force the Fat Ash to P*SS off, then stay away from ground,dont buy merchandise,hit him where it hurts. There is no doubt MA has had to splash the cash, however his overseeing of the club was at least partially responsible for the cash problems caused by relegation in the first place. Joe Kinnear, Dennis Wise, Xisco etc etc. Anyway, is the miscommunication that riles me...ambiguous comments like "all the £35 million will stay in the club" from Llambias and the constantly changing goalposts from Pardew like "we will get a striker and left back over the line..100%" last week being replaced with " I am hopeful" this week.
If it is true we offered £5million for Pieters when PSV want £7 million, why did we not make up the difference by actually charging a fee for Joey? If MA is that prudent a businessman and that focused on putting us on a stable finacial footing he should not have thrown his toys out of the pram and granted Joey a free cos he was pissed off with the whole twitter nonsense, he should have demanded a fee, cos someone would have paid it.

i see that charlton as well sachaux are reporting newcastle about illegal approach of players. if found guilty of both they could get transfer embargo

Having watched Ba Best and Lovenkrands last night I can't see them scoring 10 goals between them all season. I never thought I'd have to concede that Shola is our best striker..... God help us

Best and Loverman are pretty shambolic, no arguments there.

But give Demba Ba a chance though. He's scored goals everywhere else. Probably just getting into the swing of things.

Very true, give Ba a chance, i mean look at Tores when chelsea spent 50 mil on him, they had to wait a while for a goal from him, and to be fair i still cant see that he was worth that amount of money. toon col

Heard an outrageous rumor today, and i must stress rumor, that we didn't receive 35 million for Andy Carroll. The figure was closer to 20, but Liverpool and ourselves entered a 'gentlemen's agreement' brokered by Ashley to try and appease livid supporters.

This is total b.s . Do you honestly think that's true ,you're a fool .What about the tax man ,what would he make of news reports of 35m and only seeing 20m on the books what a t**t must be a smb.

So the Erik Pieters deal has almost been completed, but Cissoko says he's interested in coming to the toon. any chance of both signing? would be good if one of them could play right back in case simpson goes.

Italian media still reporting we have interest in Santon but no reports of official bid and Nolan Roux is still the striker we are looking to secure but again, no word of official bid, all I have for now mate sorry}

any news on the striker front ed, its getting to close for comfort, surly we dont want the forward who's gone on strike, if he plays well and a so called bigger club comes in for hime, he'll go on strike with us, he's done it once he'll do it again

{Ed042's Note - Would be very surprised if we went near Maiga after being reported to FIFA, Sochaux have pretty much told them to enforce the standpoint that they wont be selling him and we do not have permission to talk to him, if we pushed it we could be in trouble.. Nolan Roux is the main target at the moment, one or two other names mentioned but nothing I have found to back it up as yet mate sorry}

They did not all move for money they all got sick of the way the club is goin just like the rest of us all of us fans keep saying were annoyed with no transfer activity so the players obviously are too they hate MA probs just as much

Never said i liked mike ashley ...but yo got to think back if we still had freddie shepard at the helm ...we would be playing...teams like hartlepool now if we were lucky and did'nt go into administration...which we could easily have done...ill just sit back now say nowt till the window slams shut...

as we clearly need 1 or 2 strikers i cant but help think we are going to propose a loan move for sturridge after the fulham game i know people are sick of this now but no clubs have gone in for him at all and i know his suspension ends after chelseas next game i hope i am right i actually cant see any strikers we are linked with making our strikeforce looking like a threat hope we dont get maiga dont rate him we need someone with agbonlahor type pace to run down the channels wouldnt mind seein bendtner/sturridge but its more likely gunna be maynard/c.cole with either ba/ameobi hope we can pull a shock transfer out of the bag

So we need a striker with agbonalor type pace...and your solution/ preference is bentner? really? have you even watch him play?

hello newcastle how would yous like Glasgow rangers and Glasgow Celtic to play in England am asking all me personnaly think it would be a great thing as the old firm need a fresh start

Yeah, think it would be cool but dont see it happening. Dont know how the fa would work it as there would defo be objections from disadvantaged teams.

If they start in the championship... They dont deserve to be in the prem seeing as all english teams managed to qualify including birmingham who are in the championship.

They're only good enough to be mid table IMO. they would also struggle financially in this league.
I for one am against it, unless they start at the bottom and work themselves up.

If the auld firm move into england let them start in the old 4th division ...theres your fresh start ...

They would have to start at the level they are capable of, conference, so it would be years, if ever, before they got near Premier League.

How would it even work? Your removing players from a league thus meaning that league needs to be filled with another team. Also if they go to the PL/championship that would mean either the league got bigger or fewer places opened up for other teams. Which doesn't seem fair. However there is one way it could work: The scottish league and championship team up so that two teams from the championship now get promoted to the premierleague and the winner of the SPL get promoted. Then when that scottish team get relegated they go back to the SPL
