Interesting to see boro championship tean offering another championship tean 12 mill for striker rhodes and been refused.looking at other teams investments I think we need to spend another 40 mill just to compete in prem not just survive. We all know the positions we need to strengthen, still not convinced if management do. Better pull their fingers out quick.

£12m for Rhodes, that's crazy. Unbelievably crazy but when you think that he will virtually guarantee them promotion to the mega rich premier league, it's nothing.

ok so i'm struggling a little bit here. been trying to work out just how I would set up with what we have right now (including mbemba)

tried several positions and can't seem to get everyone in. obviously that's not a bad thing as at least it means I think there is osme sort of depth to some areas of the pitch.

anyway best I can come up with right now is:

mitrovic

perez de jong Aarons

colback gini

haidara collo mbemba janmaat

krul

I still see gini as a waste in that position but i'd like to see de jong beind the front man. Aarons and perez can prob play either side and have plenty of movement (can see Aarons being a superstar if he stays fit) as for the back 4 well the right side is fine I hope the left side changes completely. that means sisso, tiote, both on bench. I can't imagine either staying if that's the case. 9even as I look at it now I could make several changes. I have no idea.

it think we are all fully aware that the 'next bad thing' always happens to NUFC when the club seem to be on a high. Expect a few sales soon, the team will then pick itself.

I can't think of a single player I'd be sad to see sold if we get the right price. As long as we reinvest the money

Spurs and Chelsea interested in Sissoko. Would you sell him? If so how much?

anything above 15m is good business especially if we get a very good defender and a squad player with the proceeds

Disagree totally. We need to keep our best players now we are adding to squad to not just be competitive but to ensure we do not end up in a relegation fight again.

Sissoko, Tiote, Cisse, cabella, Taylor, Anita etc should all stay and then there is competition for places which will hopefully ensure better performances. For too long we have had guaranteed starters and the continuing poor seasons is the result.

Was that written by a Sports Direct employee? seemed a bit like some promotional propaganda.
I'm also excited about what Ian Cathro will bring but I feel he will soon be gone as the existence of Paul Simpson in the same role and his relationship wit McClaren will see Cathro cast as an outsider whose idea's may not be taken on board.
Heard a lot from Paul Simpson and very little from Cathro during hte pre-season so far.
