The club's denying any interest in Isla. The main focus is on signing another striker. There won't be any move for a new CB unless one of our current 4 is sold.

I have not seen this denial anywhere?

Today ALAN Pardew has ruled out a move for Chile star Mauricio Isla and insists he is happy with Newcastle's new-look attack.

All good points. I'm not sure why Curtis Goode doesn't get a chance. If we sign Aubameyang I will poo my pants with excitement.

Agreed desree lol

Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano going to West Ham! But Alan Pardew played Marlon Harewood and Hayden Mullins instead!
Says it all realy & we wonder why Ashley
gives him NO say
Get a Quality striker and CB or suffer a similar
season as the last one
We conced too many goals and don't score enough
simple really

Just seen that a lad from Sunderland is to appear in court for tweeting bad stuff about Liam and John. So sad when you consider the amazing support from the rest of Sunderland. One bad egg doesn't make the rest bad, you've been outstanding you Mackems, outstanding. For the first time in my life I really want to see Sunderland stay up and do well (not as well as us but well).

Am I being naïve or does anyone else think that Armstrong and Campbell are ready for the 1st team squad/bench/starting line up and that along with Riviere and a soon to be fit Cisse that we are not going to spunk millions on another striker, especially when you consider the goal scoring threat of SDJ?

If Ashley is only releasing limited funds I'd go with the strikers we have as long as we could sign Grenier.

Also why are after this Chilean full back/defensive midfielder? Is Tiote on his way?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Isla would be cover for Janmaat and can also play as a wide midfielder.

I'm hoping that campbell and armstrong will get games, but we do still need that striker to lead the line and guarantee goals. Cisse is 29 and should be sold in January or next summer.

I understand what you're saying though, we currently have 4 strikers at the moment, its a question who will be picked

Agree0 Disagree0

We have one striker that needs moving on Cusse but U doubt that will happen as he was an Ashley buy
Armstrong should be given playing time this season
Two recent signings could turn out well BUT NO Quality striker or CB which has has already been said could resign us to midtable again
2 players in theae positions could change all that
Still time but other clubs are snapping up the best players so we need get a move on

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Art, but reading the tealeaves I suspect that Pardew thinks our CBs are good enough. Only rumour is about Dier, another young sellable product, not a toughened prem first-teamer. The risk comes if our midfield can't retain possession, and our strikers can't keep threatening the opposition. For that we need a classy striker, and if we can't have a CB we'll need a winger. Next couple of weeks could be interesting.

Is no way we will pay £8mil for Isla as backup. It makes no sense.

We need creative midfielder -Grenier and one striker. First choice would still be Aubameyang but I would take a risk on Ings due to his age and that he is English.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Vic But if these clowns think we can run with the defense we have they are in for a big shock
CB and Striker will make all the difference. Not sure what we will do but hoping that players respectfully can step up is suicide but as we know it has happened in the past and may happen again
Quality CB and Striker have been needed for 3 seasons now.

What? Art, vida and me all agreed? Must be a first, and must be so obvious that even Pardew should be able to see we need at least a CB and a class striker. If we're really aiming to improve - not just stand still - that little extra investment would make all the difference, even two loanees, so long as they're good 'uns.
