Douglas and Remy both played tonight so would be cup-tied for future games. Possibly a sign that we are not signing these two players

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Not sure you can be cup tied in early rounds qualifiers etc or even at all

rogers can go on about how much he wants for Andy Carrol but he needs to face facts carrol is only worth about 10 million because liverpool paid 35 mill is neither here nor there his present worth is about 10mil

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Rogers has no say in matter just letting off steam as the yanks are pulling the strings they want something back after the waste of Dalglish.

Agree4 Disagree0

Amen.. Current value is not equal to sale price, but dumb scousers think so...

Agree4 Disagree0

Liverpool buy Borini for 10 Million and think he is better than Carroll (But they think Carroll is worth more than Borini?)

As rumours are quiet at the moment I thought I would post a topic on here about Michael Owen. I replied to someone that clearly hated the guy on here the other day but I thought I should post my opinion on here so more people will read it. This is what I wrote...............
I really don't understand the criticism this guy gets from a lot of our small minded fans....He had a fantastic goal scoring record for us (a goal every other game.) He suffered two dreadful injuries and 1 of those was because he risked himself to try and get us a goal by going into a 50/50 with I think Paul Robinson. The other was on England duty. So did you guys expect him to take a pay cut or something? Because that would be unheard of...No players would even consider that! It's also not his fault Freddy Shepherd offered him the massive salary and we knew about his past history with injuries before we signed him. Also if you remember Newcastle received a MASSIVE payment from the FA to cover his wages. I could be wrong here but Owen has always spoken fondly of the Newcastle fans and the club and always puts them in the same context as Liverpool, United and Madrid when talking about his career. I would like someone to change my opinion on this by finding evidence of Owen bad mouthing our club or fans. Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Pretty sure you posted this earlier in the week m8...michael is was a leech when his contract was finished with us he had a clause saying for a month after he would get £50 per week no wonder he speaks fondly about us ...my opinion i hate the little weasel ... geordie tom

Agree2 Disagree0

For starters he jumped ship when we got relegated, and personal experience was when we went down a day later I went to the training ground and everyone only wanted a signature but he hid in the back of a range rover, at least 100 fans stood there that day in the pissing down rain just wanting a autograph

Agree1 Disagree0

You are getting lazy with your baiting, You write one paragraph about Owen then paste it as many times as possible. Do better.

Agree1 Disagree0

I used to work at the hotel where newcastle stated the night before home games... The team spirit was always great, there were clear divides in the team but only between fellow vountrymen or the younger and the older players, exactly what youd expect, own though always sat alone playing on his phone, the impression i got was he was at newcastle for one reason ..... A pay check

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you michael Owen? Or maybe your his agent desperate for him to find a club. Michael Owen was at the toon for one reason. Money!

Agree0 Disagree0

It was £50 grand a week ( typo error ) geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember the feelings of supports at both liverpool and Newcastle while he was playing for them being that Owen always put country first ahead of his club (that payed his wages). Owen even admitted at the weekend on goals on sunday that he shouldn't of gone to the world cup cos he wasn't fully recovered from his last injury. That when he's not fit he's prone to new injuries and what happened....he did his knee (in his own words "cos his leg muscles were still weak")
My opinion - he was happy to have security of massive wages from his club whether he played or not but wanted to score goals for england at any cost!

I see Brendon Rodgers has been letting his gums flap again.
Having a go at NUFC offering to take AC on loan, and saying we were 'taking a liberty'.
This is the same man who said in a press conference earlier in the pre-season that he would be open to any players going out on loan (specifically Carroll, who he has made no secret is not in his plans).

He already sounds like a man under pressure, and way out of his depth. He has made a complete arse of putting a squad together, and is panicking that he has neither the funds, or the squad to compete. Muppet.

Taking liberties is also having an agreement with your previous about not taking any players for a 12 month cooling off period. Then going back for 2 and signing one within 2 months of leaving. Stones and glass houses come to mind. Clown.

Agree3 Disagree0

Not sure how that is taking Liberties, If Rodgers does not like the offer then just say no. You would think Mike Ashley was blackmailing him or something.
