If Milan are interested in Santon and the price is right I would be tempted to sell him. He just does not do it for me, he is the weak link in our back 4. let's play a left footed left back in his natural position and it will tighten us up no end.

Agree yes he is a good going forward but defending is sometimes a liability

Only other down for me was Krul's sometimes risky distribution it has been poor at times and yesterday there were a couple of times against stronger sides it could have been costly.
Sure he can put it right to add to his other great abilities.

He is a weak link defending Watch his last 4 games but for sure Pardew knows that and if you want him to go forward it will eventually cost us
Haidera Mwbia Ferguson or Dummet can all play there & are better defending.

No way would I sell santon. I've always said this, he needs to go back to his old position of being a wide midfielder/winger, then haidara can come into the team and we can get rid of jonas

So you agree then JToon who would you drop for Santon to play there
We can only play 11 players and we have 6 good young players trying to break through and that does not include established Marveaux Jonas Gosling and Taylor or Cisse

Haidara can play at left back and dummett can cover

Again Guys, we all are simply forgetting the fact that he is a right footed player who played in Right midfield and then later on moved to a right back, but for Newcastle he plays for Left back position, that's why he has to cut in to give a cross and remember the Wigan game he scored he was in right midfield/Right Back position when he scored.
From my view our team set-up is the one limiting his talent. I think Pardew has to give him that chance sometime, when we have a comfortable lead he has to bring in Haidara and push Santon to Right midfield.
Just my thoughts.

So who's place would he take?

We could put Santon RM against Stoke and move Sissoko inside with Tiote being suspended and see how he does. Can't see Pardew changing a winning side but it seems most people on here agree that Santon is poor at defending.

SC7 does not HBA or even Marveaux not bring more to that position?

Vida, we'll probably never know can't see Pardew actually playing Santon RM was just suggesting but it seems Pardew and Marveaux have had a falling out or something as he's not even getting on the bench and personally I don't think HBA can play a fixed position as we saw on Saturday the effect he had when moving freely around the pitch.
