Newcastle lost 3-1 to braga tonight. We were terrible in the first half but pardew actually seemed to motivate people for the second half.

It was rio ave

See the tactics have not changed. Still missing out the midfield good to see Pardew has learnt from last season. Doesn't matter who we sign with this clowns tactics.

Last night confirmed lessons have not been learnt.

whats worse Joekin talking or Joekin being quiet
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Just him in general
His empty promises of getting players
Across the line is worse than lam bezel
As he would call him
Very worried
Losing in Portugal
And still no players in
Our already weakened squad
Agree0
Disagree0
Being in the same room (bar) as the loud mouthed ignorant fool.
Agree0
Disagree0
Big deal we lost in portugal. its about getting match fit, yes its nice to get a wining mentality, but man u and cited lost to unknown teams
Agree0
Disagree0
The result is not important but the fact Pardew insist on using the same tactic as last season is important. I guess his statement of learning from past mistakes is the same as JK being a top DOF.
Agree0
Disagree0
We once lost 6-1 to leyton orient, we didn't have a bad season after that.
man utd recently lost to a Thai all stars team, does that mean they'll get relegated. no.
man city have lost bothe their friendly's so far, will they get relegated? no
take a chill pill, friendly's are about fitness, we still have a lot of time to get a few transfers in. yes I would prefer them early but we know that isn't happening.

Am I the only one excited for the new season?.
I think Newcastle will have a good season finishing between 5th and 10th. Also a good cup run.
Its also good to see Sunderland signing some quality, I think Newcastles and Sunderlands squads are pretty equal in terms of quality so should be good for the two clubs and a competative derby and great for the region.
Too many London clubs etc so the northeast big 2 can compete this season.
Oh and don't start all the rubbish who said sunderland are signing quality etc blah blah blah, because whether you can admit it or not THEY ARE.
I think Newcastle 6th sunderland 7th Newcastle Sunderland cup final. (wishfull thinking).
Believable0
Unbelievable0
How are they then? Explain. I just don't see it. Very average players they are buying.
Agree0
Disagree0
Going by tonights friendly v RIO AVE, so far i'm none too confident like: (
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree with you about being excited, but i'm sorry sunderland are signing average at best, just what qpr did. giacherrini and altidore are good signings but that's it.
Agree0
Disagree0
Im the original poster. By the way saying newcastle 6th Sunderland 7th was tongue in cheek although possible unlikely and as for both in a cup final more chance of winning euro millions.
But I do think we will both do very well and surprise a few.
Agree0
Disagree0
At best we signed quality in january but also some dross and it nearly got us relegated. We had no time to put it right. if the mackems have signed some good and some bad at least they can put it right in january. We failed in last summer transfer window big time.
Agree0
Disagree0
I don't get this Sunderland comparison with QPR. Its completely different. Qpr signed mercenaries only interested in money and glitzy London etc.
Sunderland are scouting players who fit in with Dicanios tactics and vision for next season, they have been picked carefully and they have scouted 5 players for each position and picked the one that's best for the club ie value for money etc etc.
Dicanio is strict and the players will be super fit, he is also making them bond with each other. None of that happened at Qpr.
Sunderland are far a more professional club than Qpr with no disrespects intended.
Its a completely different approach to Qpr.
Agree0
Disagree0
It always makes me laugh when the mackems keep saying we are going to be super fit under PDC. Are other clubs players not fit?
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes but sunderlands will be fitter, Dicanio focuses on fitness. You will soon see when sunderland win games in the 90+ minute.
Your right with what you say everyone should be fit but it doesn't work like that.
Agree0
Disagree0
So it's down to fitness when you win games in stoppage time? Funny that as when we scored in time added on to win games the mackems cried luck. Which is it? Or is it just luck for us and fitness for you lot?
Agree0
Disagree0
So if Di canio just focuses on fitness, what about tactics and match plan? Poor management.

I honestly don't get Ashley, his estimated fortune is now up at 2. 3bn, so if he gave us 100mill (less than 5%), that money would transform us into a top 4 club for atleast 1 season and then set a platform for us to stay on, which would surely enable him to get his money back within 1 season and then making profit during the next
Believable0
Unbelievable0
He's already spent 100s of millions why would he give more when all u do is moan about him. would u if the fans hated you and it was your money. I don't think so
Agree0
Disagree0
He's fortune is tied up in businesses its not in he's bank account.
That's irrelevant though, why would he as a businessman want to give newcastle 100 million. he wouldn't recoup that money by selling the club. He wants profits and to spend as little as possible to get those profits.
The only owners who spend big are either rich owners in the business for a hobby ie man city, Monaco, psg or rich owners who actually care for the club or support the club. Ashley is neither.
I bet Ashley's eyes lit up with the new TV deal. he's using that money in he's other businesses no doubt.
Agree0
Disagree0
"Why would he give more when all you do is moan about him".
If he's so sick of the fans why doesn't he just do the honourable thing and remove himself from our club and sight - permanently?
Why would ANY Toon supporter stick up for Ashley at any time? Do you like being disrespected, ignored and treated like an person?

nice to see our scouts globally searching according to pardew to bring us the best players, so far they gone to france again and villa park,
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Wish they would look global. All the top teams around Europe are bringing in players from brazil and Argentina.
Bernard of brazil looks great, young left winger. Just what newcastle need. But is no chance we would be in for anyone who hasn't already played in Europe.
Why not take a chance on some South American players.
Agree0
Disagree0
Bernard? Tats an example of good scouting? One of the most sought-after Brazilian players there is? See? Harder Than it looks this scouting lark.
Agree0
Disagree0
Exactly sunderland are about to sign the most highly rated right back in south America in Peruzzi from Argentina.
Agree0
Disagree0
If Bernard is a major player who is one of the sought after Brazilian going why is it that porto and spurs are the only 2 teams that have been linked with him.
If he is that well known and that big how come Madrid, Barca, PSG or any other mega rich club haven't bought him.
Am not trying to be a top football scout as previous poster makes out. Am just wondering why are we not in for such players, do we not have scouts in South America who see these players developing.
Agree0
Disagree0
So why are our scouts so highly regarded? finishing near relegation hardly inspires me for the future signings, if their is any
Agree0
Disagree0
Yeah 2nd choice Jonas lol
Agree0

Scouts find the players they don't pick the tactics or play players out of position. That is down to Pardew.

I must have missed those signings.
When did Cisse, Cabaye & Ben Arfa sign for their new clubs away from Newcastle?

Our 2nd 11 should be good enough on paper to beat a first team Sunderland side.

Agree with 2nd post.
Agree0

Lol ya first team couldn't last year remember. gomis going to villa anyway so why put in players u ain't and won't be signing u might aswel stick ronaldo in
Agree0
Disagree0
U think u are way better than u are my friend take the blinkers of. cissy kebab and arfa going. 3 best players going and who u gona get to replace em?ur doomed. comments like this is why u get laughed at
Agree0
Disagree0
U should be dreading it. half ya team either be sold and the others ain't even in your squad. there is confident and down right arrogance but this is just stupidity
Agree0
Disagree0
One derby win and the mackems think they are world beaters another false dawn awaits for the unwashed. The players you have signed are average at best and have done nothing in there previous leagues never mind they PL. come Christmas you will be in the bottom 3 and your stadium will go back to the usual empty void.
Agree0
Disagree0
Not 1 safc fan thinks we are world beaters. we are doing good business and u are doing none at all! I suggest u do ya homework the some of the players have won more trophys and titles than your whole team combined. your either stupid or high. and we have officially made a bid for insigne that shows the ambition of the club. where is yours?
Agree0
Disagree0
Agree with 8th post, sunderland to do a qpr
Agree0
Disagree0
With the toons calamitous defence, you should rethink that statement, it will be the toon in the bottom 3 by Christmas. Give our regards to the cockneys, they have our full support.
Agree0
Disagree0
Agree with none of the above but as a neutral I would be more excited if I were a mackem than a geordie about this season. Excitement does not of course mean success. it could be an exhilirating battle v relegation for the mackems but with PDC you just know it will be lively. Newcastle on the other hand are in a coma.
Agree0
Disagree0
Re the second post. Footballers must learn to play on grass not paper. perhaps that's why you screwed up in april. 0 -3.
Agree0
Disagree0
Stupid or high? I guess you never you visit your page to read the drivel that is posted on there. Spending to much time on ours seeing what we are doing. Unlike the unwashed Newcastle don't need a whole new team so no need for us to panic buy unlike you lot. Another false dawn awaits for Sunderland.
Agree0
Disagree0
We did screw up no question but despite that we still finished above you. Again.

We have really missed out now we could of had bony and/or aubameyang now we have to go for two strikers (gomis gignac) who aren't really proven goalscorers, typical newcastle! We should have wrapped up the deals earlier on!

No Chance, he is too good for Livepool

Hes too good for Liverpool then why is he playing for Newcastle a much Smaller club.

If he's to good for liverpool and he is at a mid table club like newcastle surely he will be moving on this summer my guess is monaco
