I'm considering whether I should buy the new shirt with wonga on it. I don't like the company either. Can you buy a none sponsorship version? What do other people think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I didn't like the taste of Mckewans, Newcy Brown, The fact the tax payer bailed out Northern rock. I still bought the shirt. I support the club. Just because it has Wonga on it does not mean i'm going to advocate pay day loans. I didn't start banking with Virgin.

Truth is persons use Wonga and that won't change because we have it on our shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't looking at it that way. I suppose there's more unethical companies that sponsor clubs. I'm sure alchohol and gambling has had adverse affects on people's lives than payday loan companies.
Qball

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy the old retro shirts predating sponsorship, fifties style then you are still supporting the club sales and also showing ash you don't want wonga

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not just wear your old shirt, I bought mine years ago, the old blue Northern Rock one featured in "Goal" - cheap nylon cost me £9. 99 in Ashley's Emporium Bargain Bucket. I wasn't about to pay £39. 99 for a new one!

Since the team sponsor probably contributes (in some ways) to a players salary is Cisse now refusing his pay?

Anyone else think we are looking at relegation if we don't sign a few players don't get me wrong our first eleven when all fit are top
eight, ten but you can't go through a season with only 15 good players you need at least 20 in my opinion

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tell Ashley not us fans WE KNOW

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate, but trust me we will be very busy in the next few days.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally with your first sentence. The rest of it, that is, about your first eleven etc is total garbage. You are doomed with JK and AP running the show.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who will be busy? You?me no i'm off work for 6 weeks from 2moro, the club doubt it.

We will end up with no one and by january it will be too late to save ourselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know we will end up with no one? Man u and arsenal have only signed 1 unknown player, but that doesn't mean they're not going to spend. Trust me, we will. All negative fans on here will eat their words.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people keep saying "trust me" as if they know we're signing players? Were you saying this last Summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

There's reports in france that we've made contact with Marseille over Andre-Pierre Gignac. Please, I do not want him, his record at marseille is shocking, plus he's 27. He's slow as well, which is not what we need, we need more pace, strikers like Loic Remy.

Please Joe, Alan and Graham, don't sign Gignac.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you mean CoCo Puppet & do as your told. Any striker is better than what we have right now except Campbell

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot Mike, nice to see you calling them by their Christian names but The Three Stoogies would have sufficed.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 18:51:14
Well lads looks like we close to signing cignac that will round off everything for me a striker who has 32 goals in over 100 games what ambition our owner has. I'd love to see rent snapped up he's got great pace and he's good with the ball. We nearly got relegated last season we will for sure this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

100% agree on that apart from the end, with our squad atm we won't go down but could end up mid table, but we want top 8, 6 so 2 or 3 decent signings should get us there.

Agree0 Disagree0

villa will be looking for two strikers, tottenham are, toon are, and arsenal, infact nearlly every team,. supply and demand we will have to pay over the odds or end up getting nobody. should be simple for ashley to understand as a busines man, and sports direct raking it in. just do it,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The thing is that this could spark a transfer merry go round.

If Benteke goes to Tottenham, Rooney goes to Chelsea, Man City sign Jovetic and Negredo, we could see a few new strikers on the market.

There could be players on the market in a few weeks, which are unobtainable at the moment.

Hey eds,

Liverpool fan in peace here.
Just wondering what you think will happen with Papiss Cisse reportely refused to wear the shirt due to the wonga sponsorship on religious grounds. Do you see him leaving? Because presumably if he's unwilling to wear it in a friendly tournament he'd be unwilling in the premier league.

Also, just want to say, can we borrow some of your scouts please? They aren't doing a bad job pulling out Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Santon eh?

cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have a feeling Papiss is off, Liverpool. I think his heads been turned by Russian money but have a feeling he'll end up in London Spurs or Fulham imo. He had no probs with NR or Virgin, both money lenders so I can't see the issue really. As I see it the club have two options, let him ware a blank shirt or transfer list him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah they are good helped us finish 16th

Agree0 Disagree0

But they also helped us finish 5th.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be shocked to see Cisse play for us again, the decision to let him play with a charity or no sponsor on his shirt is wonga's to make and there's no way they'd let our main goal scorer play without their sponsor on the no. 9 shirt.

We will sign no big name players, we MIGHT sign Bent but that is it. the excuse will be too high fees or too much wages as per usual transfer window. anybody sticking up for Ashley needs to wake up & smell the coffee. Every player we allegedly go in for signs on somewhere else, It can't be bad luck all the time. our transfer deals take weeks to happen unlike everyone one else something wrong somewhere. if you pay peanuts they will go elsewhere FACT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How do you know we won't sign any big name players? i'm not defending ashley, but we've signed cabaye, cisse, coloccini, ben arfa in the past so why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

Big name players no chance!

Agree0 Disagree0

We made them in to big name players because I bet you did not know who they were when we signed them

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact is 75% of our fans had probably never heard of Ben Arfa, Cabaye or Santon plus several others before we signed them. They are good and even great players but some are s*** to be blunt. Just like the mackems now. They will have bought some class and also some crap but at least they are having a blast and it could pay dividends. We on the other hand are asleep.!

do we want cisse or not, Believable for yes. me i'm fed up of him been offside to much, if he can't get head around that then ta ta, don't blame slow through balls, he just can't see in a straight line, hence that banana shot against chelski ha ha

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you do a quick stats search of last season he is by no means the most offside striker. There are a fair few big name PL players at the top of the list also. It's worth baring in mind he had a lot 7 I think wrongly ruled for offside and saved our bacon as without the goals he did score we'd of been doomed. How can people have such short memories the second it looks like some one may leave us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most decent strikers would bang more in on the chances he wasted

Im sorry but I am not buying this whole cisse thing. For one I know numerous people who have seen him in the casino in newcastle. 2 if he was that botheres about his beliefs then surely he wouldn't be with a non-muslim partner. 3 sissoko and tiote are also both muslim yet they have not made an issue of the wonga sponsorship. In my opinion he has used the shirt deal as an excuse to leave newcastle gor whatever reason but is hiding behind this as an excuse.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup, dead right. To my mind we were always going to be looking for a first choice striker (Cisse is a second choice striker in my opnion - he showed his lack of a clinical finish last season). I would gladly take £13m.

Agree0 Disagree0

And 4 he didn't go with your squad so he is off!

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the case, we'll soon know. It could be that he doesn't want to ware it whilst going through Ramadan though, this was suggested to me by a muslim pal of mine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse and Ba where still playing last year when they were in Ramadan!
I honestly think Cisse wants out, Tiote and Sissoko aren't saying anything, and they will happily wear the shirt.

Cisse can't be that true to his Muslim roots as his girlfriend isn't Muslim

Cisse had no complaints about wearing a Virgin sponsor on his top, so why is he starting to complain now.

I would say get shot off him, but I really don't think we are going to sign anyone, and we REALLY can not afford to be light in the strikers department this year!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 12:33:07
If Cisse leaves for say 15 million, who will you replace him with.
I will want newcastle to focus on Doubia and Luk de jong or Remy.
Move for Bent should be scrapped and sign a youngster on loan

Out
Ameobi-2mill
Cisse-15mill

In
Doubia-15mill
Remy or Luk-7mill
Gudietti on loan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The funniest part about that is - Ameobi - 2m

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't rate Guidetti, just get in remy, doumbia and ince and maybe kouyate

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2013 03:16:39
why get remi? knocked us back not long ago greedy person

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 10:49:29
This Wonga business with Cisse is one of two things. He either wants out OR is after a hefty pay rise and is using this as an excuse, or should I say his agent is. WHY? Surely his beliefs/Religion would be against him gambling in Casino`s MOST weekends and be against his ex girlfriend who was a porn star and maybe against his current girlfriend who is non muslim? If he doesn't want to play for Toon let him go. The Badge on the front of the shirt is far bigger than the name on the back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

SAFC fan here. Good point fron faircomment there, Cisse had brill 1st season followed by a minga of a 2nd. Could it be he himself is sick of all negativity that has followed you lot for a while and he wants out or has he heard of a bigger club sniffing about.
I was jealous you got him instead of us but now am not so sure, could he be a mercenary player. Will be interesting next few weeks in lead up to the new season. Will any of you lot be watching the Asian cup on Sky next weekend to see how the mighty PDC has done in the transfer market since you have not bought yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, this cisse thing is ridiculous. He cannot possibly be so offended by the wonga logo after playing with virgjn and in the BPL. I Work in Asia and you would be amazed the amount of Muslims that go drinking and smoke but get offended by the word pig. However, I haven't heard a single quote from
Cisse so it could all be b*******?

In response to the sunderland fan, I'll definitely be watching, in fact I'm pretty jealous of your activity in the transfer window but in all honesty I would love to see you guys do well, it's good for the region and I think most true fans would say the same!
Peace

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree mate, why would he kick up a fuss about Wonga but didn't about the virgin money? I think he just wants more money and a london club

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough but he has offered to wear an unbranded top are one with a charity logo don't see why there such a big fuss about this it's happened before {Ed001's Note - because he knows that the contract between Newcastle and Wonga would make this impossible. It is easy to make suggestions you know the club are unable to comply with, in order to make yourself look reasonable.}

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2013 10:01:33
Cisse can't sign for Fulham as they are now sponsored by Marathon Bet and betting is also against Islamic rules. Surely if this situation was for religious beliefs then he would not be in the EPL at all being sponsored by Barclays and they loan money at an interest rate. He is looking for a move he has been tapped up it is as simple as that.

A mate of mine is doing some elecrical work at SJP and he told me there is a lot of internal talk of Newcastle being at an advanced stage with regards to the signing of fernando torres - yes I wasn't sure whether to belive it or not but if chelsea are that keen on rooney then why wouldn't torres move

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aye O. K.

Agree0 Disagree0

Might have something to do with a player like Torres is on over 100K a week. Sorry But we will never pay this even for the cut price that Torres will (could) be sold for.

Agree0 Disagree0

HA ha ha ha ha, god mate get out the sun your brain is frying lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you sure he's not just hallucinating after accidentally holding the live and neutral at the same time, thereby making him the earth wire?
