One of the main things I would love to see happen at Newcastle is a manager to come in who will bring a philosophy / style of play. What I mean is that Man U have a way of playing, Arsenal have a way of playing, Liverpool lost their way but now have it back under Rodgers, Everton have a way of playing and even Stoke do. I would like to see a manager who would demand that from the senior team down to youth teams will learn a system of playing the game to coin a phrase the "Newcastle way" of playing football. This method is the only way to transform the club, Klinsman did this when he was the national manager for Germany, he went round the German clubs and asked them to adopt a philosophy of football a "German" way of playing, which 10 -15 years on is bearing fruit, German club teams are now overtaking Spanish teams and the national team look like the strongest German team I have seen since the World Cup in 1990 (I am not old enough to remember Muller and the 1970's German teams).
The simple fact is that a philosophy can be taught from youth teams so players who remain at the club know exactly how to play in the position they play in. Look at Barcelona, when Messi or Xavi gets injured they don't suddenly change the way they play! What they do is the person who plays in the place of the injured player knows the Barcelona way of playing because they have been taught it. Don't get me wrong they might not be as good as Xavi or Messi, however the club remains the same. I truly believe that Newcastle will never ever be able to move forward until this is addressed. We need a manager that will be at the club for 10+ years and for fans to back him, for owners to back him and be in it for the long haul. Or it will just continue going from one manager to the next every 1 - 2 years.

I do agree mate, I would really like to see a counter attacking, fast paced, direct style of football aka mourinho style which I know that's the kind of football we played last season and we couldn't play it this season because of injuries and lack of fitness and so many youth player etc. I hope pardew brings our sort of "mourinho football" back next season unless its someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

To play mourinho style football you need a solid defence if you go one or two up its shut up shop not nice to watch but effect can't see Newcastle fans liking this style but if it gets wins who cares

Agree0 Disagree0

You need realise we have only knumbskulls in management at NUFC Today is today and we are an awful football team lucky to survive relegation,

Ashley wants to keep balanced books so where that leaves us I don't know but some 140m will come in TV Gates Sponsorship and furter TV 2013/14 withoiut selling any players which will be afurther bonus as and when they are sold and replenished with cheaper versions.

It is watch and wait time because unless a decent sum is spent on quality players AP will lead us into possibly a slightly better season and Ashley and co will all be happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you waant to counterattack at home you should be taking the game to opposition

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt Ashley will spend much on transfers in summer didn't he buy 20 mil worth in january that all your fans said were quality buys, he might spend 10-15 tops, struggle again next season for you's

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we struggle next year? We finished 5th the season before. This season has been down to horrific injuries and bad management.

Agree0 Disagree0

To above also bad players, they are not as good as you think they are.

Newcastle can't keep sacking manager after manager it just not going to help in the long term. If Newcastle sack Pardew they need to think not just about what manager would come and take the job, but a manager that will bring a philosophy of football to the club and will be at the club for a long long time. Liked Fergie did at Man U. Long term solutions rather than short term fixes

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pardew can still take us forward. Fergie and moyes were almost sacked at the start of their man u and Everton careers. In fact moyes did even worse than pardew in their second seasons.

But, the alarming thing is, if u look at Pardew's managerial history, its the same trend. He gets a good start and then its down hill from there.
What we need is a manager with his own ideas and experience to stand up to the owners and ask for the players he needs to bring in, not a puppet like Pardew who says yes to what Ashley and Llambias says, so he can be a manager of a Premier League team.

Makes a nice change to see some sense on here instead of the usual mindless 'Pardew out s***. We need a manager who can build a solid team from the back, with cultured, skilful defenders first. This takes time!

Agree0 Disagree0

It may be mindless crap to some who can't read between the liones. BUT Pardew is NOT a good manager that can take this team anywhere close to silverware and his football tactics and style of football are shocking. So if fans are happy with mediocrity I am all for keeping him but to want to a decent team playing on a level playing fiels the manager is the first issue to sort out.
We have seen Ashley's choices Keegan, Pearson. Hughton, JFK Shearer and Pardew. Only one stands out with a great pedigree
and we did not want his style or cost to establish his proven style of great football on the field.

Give us a break AP is poor to say the least so yes keep him and continue in the inept performances on the field and Lambias brainwashing of how positive things are. Can only happen at Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that oxlade chamberlain is unhappy at arsenal about not getting enough first team football. i'd like to see a loan move for him, he's the type of winger we need.

I got slaughtered last week for suggesting we should try and get Lukaku and although I agree with you about the Ox I think there will eb flack coming your way from unambitious fellow fans. By the way I see West Ham have enquired about Lukaku, would'nt that be a kick in the teeth if tehy got him and we did not just from lack of trying?

Agree0 Disagree0

West Ham can ask all they want they won't get Lukaku, and as for being "unambitious" no it's more to do with Lukaku stating he wants to play for a team playing in the Europa league. Are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice idea but totally unrealistic.

I do not like the idea of developing another clubs players anyways.

Leave that to Sunderland, it worked alright for them with Rose who kept them up this season. LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Aha, they basically just caught massive fish on their rod sunderland have. Now that rose looks a good player, there will be teams like man u newcastle etc. coming in for him, plus tottenham might now want to keep him!

Agree0 Disagree0

They might well come in for Rose, but the big thing is he loves it here and there's a good chance of him signing.

To the fella below, if you have the picture of Martinez with Ashley & Lambias, get it posted! Just checked the current odds for Newcastle next manager:

Lee Clark 6/4. Rafa Benitez 5/1. Steve McLaren 7/1. Di Matteo 10/1. Roberto Martinez 16/1. Blanc 20/1, Poyet 20/1 & Redknapp 22/1. 33/1 bar.

If you have the pic, post it so we can all put some money on it at 16's.

Also heard rumblings that we have watched Wissam Ben Yedder of Toulouse.
