Newcastle are going to consilidate this season in the premiership and pin any hope of european football on winning europa league. We are lining up three players to bolster the team next year in a push for champions league.
Ins:
various youngsters between 15-18 for development, aubameyang, can play up top and also as part of a front three. Wijnaldum, can offer cover in all midfield position and has great attacking ability. Sakho- replacing coloccini who will be leaving in the summer.
This could be the possible line up next year:
Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Sakho Santon

Sissoko Cabaye
Ben arfa Wijnaldum Aubameyang
Cisse

If you ask me I would say this as a starting line up would definately be worthy of Champions league

And not one home grown player among them. So we are going to buy success are we? Not on Ashley's bank roll we're not!

Agree2 Disagree12

It's the way the prem goes, but krul and saylor are probs the only ones who have developed into good players. Football today, you can't afford to not buy your way to success but bradford might prove that wrong.

Agree10 Disagree0

In some small way, we nurtured HBA and allowed Cabaye to become the player he is. It's not like they came in fully formed and at £20m!

Agree10 Disagree0

Theres a good reason there are very few homegrown players in the premier league, the coaching and facilities are behind other countries. The players that england are producing are not good enough to compete on a world level, apart from a few (wilshere, rooney). Also all english talents are overpriced such as zaha for 15million, if he was brazillian it would be half the price or less. All you have to look at is how many decent english players play abroad and succeed, none. whereas spanish, french, german and many other countries have players playing on different leagues to prove quality.

I don't think we will go down, the what I look at it, you have to be positive and say, right let's win as many games as we can and finish as high up the table as we can. We played some really attractive football against metalist. You can tell we are a top 7 side and we deserve to be. Although we lost against spurs, we went there, played with confidence, commited men forward and really attacked them, as we did agaist man u, arsenal, man city. You can tell we are not a mid table side because of the players we've got in, the football we play and the stature of the club. It's only mid table and relegation sides that put 10 men behind the ball e.g aston villa, wigan, sunderland etc.
We are slowly doing what Tottenham were doing about 4 or 5 years ago. Building a valuable, great buisness and a top football club and you never know, we might just be in the champions league in the next five years!
This is defo a top 6 squad

Krul

Debuchy M'biwa Coloccini Santon

Cabaye Tiote

Ben Arfa Sissoko Gouffran

Cisse

Howay the lads!-Bring on Derby day!

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Why do we deserve to be in the top seven? Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton and Swansea deserve to be in the top seven!
We deserve to be were we are in the league after bad management from Ashley down to Pardew and bad performances from our players.

Agree4 Disagree11

Top 7. you are having a laugh.
Some of you Mags must be cringing with comments like that.

Jeez.

Oh, and he missed off Champions league.

Agree3 Disagree11

To first comment after post,
What the hell are you on about? Ashley has now built one of the best buisnesses in the prem! We are 20th richest club In the world in terms of revenue. Pardew has built a top 6 side, and we finished 5th, there's no reason why we can't do that again next season as we do have a better squad.

Agree10 Disagree0

Dear Jeez, Not really we won't be in the top 7 this year, but hey neither will your Sunderland. But our aspirations far out reach yours, so no we aren't cringing, some of us have higher expectations, unlike your sorry lot under MON.

Agree10 Disagree1

Deluded?

Jeez.

Agree2 Disagree9

Yes Jeez you're deuded, get off our site. If I was you, you might as well come and support the toon, a lot more to cheer about, and you seem to be highly obsessed with us.

Agree9 Disagree0

So it wasn't bad management not strengthening our squad in the Summer? Pardew has cost us points this season with his defensive style. Ashley done well in January but it doesn't hide the fact that he has ruined our season and the best we can hope for is just getting into the top ten.

Agree0 Disagree4

To most recent comment:

How do you expect a starting 11 with 2 youths and 6 rotation players to play good football and thrash teams? Not once up to the reading game where we've been able to field a strong team. Yes our premiership season is ruined unless we can get 9th, 8th or 7th. But europa league is certainly not. Our season has only been ruined by lack of summer spending and tons of injuries!

Agree3 Disagree0

So only our first team starters know how to pass a football? and I never said anything about thrashing teams and if the club had signed players in the Sumer then injuries wouldn't of had as much of an effect as they have done.

Agree0 Disagree1

So you expect a team of Simpson, Williamson, bigiramana, ameobi, ameobi Ferguson to play like barca? NO. Yes that's what I said, if we had strengthened then yes we'd probs be in the top 6 by now but we haven't, and pardew, ashley and llambias have come out and admitted that they should of spent. They held their hands up, no need to cuff them. But this is a one off season, everytime we strengthen well, pardew is expected to get us into top 8

Agree0 Disagree0

I certainly don't expect them to play like Barcelona but I'm sure players in a Premiership squad should be able to do better than three passes then a long ball forward.

I'm not sure about other geordies, Ino he's a bit old, but one day, I'd like to see a return of a legend, obafemi martins, a striker for backup maybe. But i'd like to see martins just holding an NUFC shirt up.

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Loved Martins though he says he was born in 1984. I'm thinking 74.

Agree1 Disagree1

Legend? really?

There are two players that we need from Celtic fc and there are left-back emilio Izaguirre and central-forward Gary hooper both would cost £10-12m and I like santon very much but it time he go to play right back and be back up to deubary sorry about the spelling!

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I dnt think debucy done a great lot since coming feel he's quite slow dnt get tight to players and santon is just moving closer to cb and when he gets forward we are short at the back. feel santon needs to put more in latley he's a great player but getting caught upfield and more central in defence otha teams finding loads of space on right. time for tiote to go stupid yellow on thurs night just get rid and make a profit and get two decent strikers in. question is what is our best cb partnership? taylor playing well at the minute colo not as good and yanga played well the other night so what do you people think?
