ed what do you make about the report just been on tv that mike Ashley has released on his tw*tter account that he has held talks with rooney's agent about signing him though no contact has been made between the clubs. {Ed003's Note - Nothing whatsoever,It's been rubbished and wasn't it on a website not social media? not that it matters really lol}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My God, Ashley really treats Newcastle fans like children, thing is, he has done it since day1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sportsdirectnews.com was launched last week, they just wanted publicity

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course it's rubbish but how many people now know that Sports Direct has a dedicated Sports News website?
Job done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like he will be able to get on his wages, and to not expect other rip layers to ask for a pay rise

Agree0 Disagree0

Canny businessman and no denying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Canny businessman? If he has to create unbelievable rumours to sell his website, instead of selling it on its strengths, that says to most modern punters that the website is gash and not to bother with it! Its not the 1980s anymore people don't swallow this rubbish nowadays!

Agree0 Disagree0

This website is based on ridiculous rumours and boy do we love coming here!

a lot of talking Newcastle going to sign wayne rooney, only doing this looking for publicity and we haven't a hope in signing him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Chelsea, arsenal and Madrid are going for him
No way in hell

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney?

Does anybody remember the wage struture in place at Newcastle, no more than 60,000 a week.

Isn't Rooney on 220,000 at Man U?

Agree0 Disagree0

Our wage cap is between 70 and 80k. Obviously this rumour is a joke, don't take yourselves so seriously.

What are people's Ins for this summer's transfer window?
Mine would be
Remy 8m
Carroll 9m
Rose 8m (Santon pushed up as a winger and cover for RB)
Kouyate 5m
Sakho 8m
Alex McCarthy 3m
Maybe Sinclair 4m

Geordie Moses

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dreamer 130m 20m out get real will ya

Ashley owns this club not an
Arab or Russian This end season will be his biggest windfall so why change it
Leave the 2 clowns to appease the fans best way they can and win a few games

Which is why we will be mediocre As long as good old Mike has not get to get his hands dirty or in his pocket

Agree0 Disagree0

Carroll isn't worth 900,000 never mind 9million!

Agree0 Disagree0

Geordie Moses, could I interest you in some magic beans, dear me, God help us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you think he's called moses start beleiving

Agree0 Disagree0

Mine would be
Balde 5m
Aubameyang 11m
Ince 7m
Okore 3m
Sakho 8m

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this just because of Carroll? I could change it to Aubameyang! Plus remy might be steered so there's a guy called Amido Balde we could get

Newcastle to raid QPR for:

Remy, Hoilett, Taarabt & Granero (to possibly replace outbound Cabaye?)

Remy & Hoilett will have realised there mistakes by taking the wages.

Taarabt will be great behind Cisse in the hole.

heard it here 1st! Up the Toon!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Taarabt?

He cannot even get in a QPR team that was the worst team in the league.

I can honestly say this, if you asked me to name 3 players in the Premier League I would not want at Newcastle he would be 1 of them.

Showboats (even though he is no good at), will not pass, sulks, overweight, ego problems, cannot shoot etc.

Hoilett could be an interesting proposition.

Remy is a no go, he will want the same wages he gets at QPR, if we were going to offer him those kind of wages he would already have signed for us. It is blatantly obvious Remy's wages are too high.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want hoilett he's been relega ted with two different clubs. geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoilett and remy would be just fine!

Agree0 Disagree0

Granero is woeful

Agree0 Disagree0

If you lot making predictions have not learned by now that ALL transfers will be done behind closed doors (after the Remy debacle) you are in cloud cuckoo land and typify desPerate fans willing this club to step up.

Pardew stays so everything remains the same except Ashley will take in 60m
from TV money no wonder these persons running the club are happy again. The Gloom has gonr

Agree0 Disagree0

No, no, no and no. You heard it here first!

I was thinking about how can we improve on this season. I had some very simple things come through my head:
Players!
Scoring Goals!
Goals Conceded!
Injuries!

The players we have got, just don't look like a team, someone is caught napping all the time, or caught out of position or ball watching.

A VERY big problem, we havn't sciored as many goals this year. how can you win if your forwards don't get the ball off your midfielder's? Or how can you score when your forwards are always offside or just plainly can't shoot!

Conceded far too many goals, could be down to the injuries. But when you see our lads play most of the defenders are chasing the ball or ball watching, leave far to many gaps that need to be filled.

Injuries - Taken a bad hit this year, really understaffed. I know we still made teams to go out on the pitch but bringing the likes of young Biggi on, Trav, Sammy, Fergi - I know they are getting the playing time, but they are 18-21 - this has been some of their first season, how could they be expected to fill the boots of Cabaye, HBA so on.

Players
We have some out of contract, we have some we need to get shot of, and we need more fire power, in terms of speed, strength, tricks.

Players Out (or I would like to see gone in the Summer)
Harper - Out of contract
Simpson - Out of contract
Collo - Wants to return home
Willo - Please just get shot, terminate his contract
Perch - Please do the same, terminate his contract
Jonas - Less said the better?
Obertan - My good god, Man U are good at selling us s**t
Gosling - No point him been at the club, has he ever played?

8 players out - they will need to be replaced.

Players in (only by position)
GK - Harper moving on we need a third goal keeper
RB - Simpson out of contract we need more cover.
CB - Collo (if he goes) Perch and Willo we need at least 3 new ones to cover
LB - I would love to see Hadaria (spelling) being used more and Santon pushed further up on the left wing
ST - at least two new forwards of top quality! (not world class, just someone who can hit the target, make his runs on time and not get caught of side (***cough*** Cisse)

8 New players in, I'd still say having another two Midfielder's wouldn't hurt, someone who can play Tiote's role and not think he's a gladiator. And someone with that special spark.

Loans
Sammy
Fergi
Biggi
Help them build, they need games!

What does everyone else think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Things went down hill after ba. simple

Agree0 Disagree0

You're correct it did go downhill after Ba left that's because Ba was carrying us.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have very short memories if you think Ba was carrying us.

Our season has been bad since the 2nd game of the season, not since Ba left.

In fact, if anything our all round play has improved after Ba left, we just have not settled and synced up.

Agree0 Disagree0

But if it weren't for Ba we'd have been in the relegation zone.

questioning pardew. whether you be pro or anti pardew, let me know your thoughts.

Organisational management key. Do we look a well organised team?
Could be argued organisation comes from consistency of team selection.
Could also be argued it's something that should be judged regardless.
Good organisational management means whole squad able to play system.
Squad players well coached slip seamlessly into well organised system.
The knock-on of this is most injuries not being such a massive problem.
Even in terms of our strongest players, do they look well a well organised unit?
Vitally important to attack and defend as a team unit. Do we do both well?
Do our central midfielders and wing players have good link play with forwards?
Do our central midfield or full backs win their respective battles often enough?

Can be argued this has been done well in off the pitch cultural integration days.
Football related teamwork and team building a vital aspect of good management.
Most of squad been together over a year now. Do they have great understanding?
Does the team look more or less of a cohesive unit than it did in 2011/12 season?
Have new players been integrated well into system and utilised well positionally?
Do we look a proper team or team of relatively highly-rated and talented individuals?
Have partnerships been developed well between positional partners on the pitch?
Do our central midfielders compliment each others strengths as they should?
Do our full backs have good understanding and interchange with our wingers?
Do centre backs have good understanding with full backs and defenive midfielders?

Ability to motivate players, staff, fans, everyone involved in club extremely important.
Tried with fans, but wrong approach? Constant calls to support the team ill-judged?
In terms of players, have they looked highly motivated/energetic with high work-rate?
Did the team look motivated for relegation fight? Was there reponse in intensity to play?
Does the team regularly look noticeably de-motivated in second half of games?
Have squad and younger fringe players been motivated in the most effective way?
Has stating publicly numerous times they're not up to scratch destroyed confidence?
Said to provoke reaction, but best way to motivate players who had to be called upon?
On the flipside, for key players not performing, best motivation to pander to their egos?
Should any of this really be done publicly in interviews or press, or be kept in-house?

Tactics and strategy have been long called into question, even during last season.
Have pre-game set-ups been right and in-game tactical decisions been effective?
How many tactical masterstrokes have there been in comparison to clear errors?
Have players available been used effectively in suiting chosen tactical approach?
Have line-ups/set-ups showed visible plan to stifle oppositions key players/threats?
Have line-ups/set-ups showed visible plan to exploit opposition weaknesses?
Does the tactical approach look like a plan on how to win or on how not-to-lose?
Is there conflict of beliefs between players and manager on best tactical approach?
Does team selection and tactics get the best out of our creative and technical players?
Have key players questioned the tactical approach both in the past and present?
Is there a reliance on likes of Ben Arfa to win games instead of good team tactics?

Lack of time on the training ground at times has been cited as reason for poor form.
Should this hold that much weight or be something that good management adapts to?
Is training showing an improvement in individual performances and team cohesion?
Is training showing an improvement in fitness levels, work-rate and intensity in-game?
Is there clear positive signs of coached movement, patterns of attack and teamwork?
Is it simply coincidence that there's been so many training related injuries this season?
Have injuries been adapted to well enough and squad used in most effective manner?
Have in-game circumstances, deficits, injuries, etc been adapted to well enough?

Have new signings been utilised effecively, played to their strengths, aiding adaptability?
Have changes been made to try get the best out of players like Cabaye and Sissoko?
Has the issue of conceding early or first been identified and dealt with well enough?
Has there been any improvement or signs of creativite ideas in solving set-piece issues?
Has there been willingness to adapt and change tactics or system when it isn't working?
Has there been willingness to drop clearly out of form players regardless of name/status?
Is there signs of favouritism in selection, with liked option playing over the arguably better?
Have younger squad members and backup options developed/progressed or regressed?

Was europa participation adapted to and managerially planned for effectively enough?
Has there been a good enough change of fortunes/results post-january window/spend?
Is there signs of effective ability to communicate tactical strategy or ideas well enough?
Is there indication that the team understands, more so believes in the tactical approach?
Has touchline communication and instruction been good enough if strategy not working?
Is the visible relationship with manager and players as good as said or it should be?

Has responsibility been accepted enough by management for season/shortcomings?
Have excuses been used to deflect attention from errors in management/coaching?
Is it in fact sign of poor management not to accept responsibility instead of use excuses?
What example does it set to players with constant use of excuses for poor performance?
Have players started to relay these excuses/use them as crutch as season has gone on?
Has the media exposure/pressure that comes with the job been handled well enough?
Was media criticism post-derby and since good move or has it created negativity in press?
Have constant requests for fans to get behind the team been patronising to ever-loyal fans?
Has communication with fans been honest and open, with justifiable criticism accepted?

How much trust and faith in management and staff is there among fans and players?
Is stability something solely based on keeping management or is it multi-faceted concept?
If big players have frustration with manager/tactics, how long before they request moves?
If big names do have issue/look to move, does that not halt progression/breed instability?
Is there a genuine belief that management is of caliber to take the club to the next level?
Is the club/team at a stage where that step up in caliber is needed to progress further?
Does the new TV and commercial deal allow budget to secure manager of higher caliber?
If there are reservations about current manager, how much is he going to be invested in?
If change to be made, better to do so early in summer rather than ten games into season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I do not really have time to comb through all of that.

I will say this though, Pardew appears to style his football on the football that Mourinho plays - Long balls with Fast and Direct play.

I can see what Pardew is thinking with our style of football: basically if you cut out all the messing around and play more direct you are playing the numbers game and getting more through balls over 90 minutes.

Here is the big problem that I have:

Using this model of football, it is absolutely crucial that there is support upfront, there is no point playing Mourinho football with Cisse up on his own, Cisse needs a man each side of him and one behind.

By not supporting our attacks we are in effect adding pressure to our defence. Giving the ball away so cheaply by not supporting our attacks and having men sitting deep is basically setting up to let the other team play.

If Pardew would commit to the style of football he wants Newcastle to play then I would back him. This half hearted attacking with deep laying players is suicide.

Either go for it, or just move on and let someone else come in that will.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first poster. god are the the ghost writer for the harry potter books lol. geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus, war and peace was shorter than that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with 2nd poster. Pardew is never known for simple hoofball, its obviously the players still settling in, not having enough confidence and too tired. We will be better prepared next season and we will work on the mourinho style football over the summer, as every player will have pre season and stuff to settle in, we'll have a clearout of deadwood and some new attacking and defensive, technical coaches.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boring with no point!

Agree0 Disagree0

Need to watch more of Mourinho teams if you think Pardew 'tactics' are anything like it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do, and our football last season was very much like mourinho style, it's what pardews trying to establish at the club now. So that the new boys will be more settled and will have gelled more

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't it be really funny if the original post didn't get past the review stage after all that

Agree0 Disagree0

I do, and our football last season was very much like mourinho style, it's what pardews trying to establish at the club now. So that the new boys will be more settled and will have gelled more

Are you a Mackem on the wind up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Google : Pardew Mourinho

Pardew talks about Mourinho being his influence and how he stays in touch with him.

It is obvious Pardew attempts the Mourinho style football, but like I said, the execution is lacking because of the lack of support in attack.

To the person that said: ''need to watch more Mourinho teams if you think Pardews tactics are anything like it. ''

It is clear your statement is devoid of fact, if you do not know what we are talking about when we link Pardew to Mourinho then you should not really chip in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because you google searched something doesn't mean you suddenly become enlightened and knowledgeable about football or any subject. I have been on here before talking about style of play or philosophy of football which has been lacking in any Newcastle team for a long time! Its my view that if the club really want stability and progression the club have to establish a philosophy of football I. e. The Newcastle way of playing the game, like Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool had in the past and have now got back so on and so forth. Once we do this the philosophy must run from the first team right down to the youth teams so everyone is playing the same way and as players grow and come into the first team they know exactly how to play. This is what Klinsman did in Germany about 10 - 15 years ago, now look at how good the German players are coming through. Its down to philosophy of playing the game and being taught properly. English football from youth upwards are not taught technical ability or positional play, just how to kick it and run after it. That's what is really needed to change not just Newcastle but English football
