Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

Hear what your saying Ed but no season ticket for me until the chairman delivers on his promises. There is no will whatsoever to "re-invest" transfer funds if we can only offer £4m for Nzogbia. It makes us look a laughing stock. He needs to get real and listen to people who support the club & know what it takes to stay in the Prem. We can have a go at the smb's all we want but we all wish we had a chairman & owner who delivered on a promise. Ashley out asap & please god pardew grows a pair and demands some cash to strengthen the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good goal from what I hear

{Ed042's Note - Didnt see it unfortunately but supposed to be a nice finish from the edge of the box with his left}

If you're talking about Sammy's goal it was decent just been shown on SSN lashed it from edge of the box.

Just seen on ssn that Everton have entered the race with villa to sign Nzogbia. How come Everton can find 10m when we can't after we sold our only decent striker for 35m. A tough season ahead I fear. A midfield creating lots of chances that aren't converted into goals with poor strikers like Ameobi and Best. And leaking goals at the back

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Weve got Ba

Agree1 Disagree2

Sorry didn't mention him as I think he is a decent player but won't be able to go thru the season on his own

Not so much a rumour more an opinion we will not sign any big named players for one we won't pay wages, and we won't pay an asking price over 7 or 8 million if u look at what's happened over last few weeks that's been confirmed by the 'targets' we've failed to get. Secondly which big name player would want to come to Newcastle with no promise of European football or the likelihood of winning anything, having said that we look like were going to be a feeder team which may not be so bad if we bring the rite players in hopefully the players we have already got and the 2 that were supposedly getting turn out to be as successful as tiote, if that happens then we will be one of the better perm sides this season hopefully giving us something to build on for next season, then we'd be within our rites to cry out for these more well known players afterall it's worked to a degree at arsenal so hopefully we'l follow a similar path.

Sick of hearing all these doom and gloom merchants, regarding transfers. I'm glad club doesn't want to sign these overpriced average players, lets take our time and find players who want to play for Newcastle. We need another striker, but so does every other club £15-£20 mill for Sturridge is just too much, only Liverpool would pay that for player who has very limited experience. Just face it Newcastle united no longer pay silly fees for players, been there done that and it almost bankrupt the club. Remember N'zogbia left us for a so called bigger club, our priorities should be a strker and left back. We don't need to sign any old player just because we can, (sunderland) we need to sign players who want to play for Newcastle and take the club forward.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

The players we signed WILL take us forward

just read the gaffas explanation on the carroll money this is a joke, he says "the money is being spent on players contracts and so on".so what happens to the sky money, money produced by the club , sponsors, and so on. the way he is talking if carroll had not of been sold we would of got knowone this season. The guy is a mug, a puppet or what ever you want to call him, he needs to get some back wheels on him and stand up to ashley [who has just give a 60 mill win fall away to sports direct workers] he is as tight as a crabs butt when it comes to newcastle united.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Totally right mate, Ashley says who we sign, Ashley says who we sell, Ashley picks the team NOT that sorry excuse for a thunderbird puppet Pardew The man is a spineless front for our Fat Lad owner. The sooner he either leaves or passes away the better. Ashley, Lambias and Pardew, PLEASE sling your hook and go and destroy a club in your own part of the country.

howay man lads keep ya chins up still plenty time left till window closes....just heard ...NEWCASTLE UNITED have today put a bid in for messi...billy messi plays for byker bottom club...speedy little forward....(trying to lighten the mood here ) i still think we'll get a few more players in before season starts....but not the players the fans expect...might be surprised ( i can dream cant i ) ....anythoghts on who we should go for ...you heard owt ed ?

{Ed042's Note - Nothing today as the focus is on the match tonight, think it will be used to really look at where the team needs to strengthen, anyone that doesnt perform well against Darlington (no offense to them, we`re just a bigger club) will show that we may need reinforcements in that area, as far as striking targets go, Shane Long seems like the most feasible deal right now, with maybe some negotiations going on for Bendtner, targets are said to be in European clubs outside England though which would suggest the likes of Moussa Sow or Salomon Rondon, and maybe still negotiations with Erdinc, but as we have seen with all the paper talk there has been, the actual signings we made were never reported in English media, and barely in the foreign press, Marveaux unreported, Cabaye was only on Canal+ when he himself confirmed he wanted to sign for us, Demba Ba was but only very close to the day he signed and because there was an awful lot of focus on who would get him with a lot of English interest, so on that basis its really anyones guess who it will be, personally would be happy with Bendtner or Long and then one if not two of the Banguras}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would personally love to see Rondon and Sow... Maybe even a cheeky bid for Vela and would also love to see Giovani Dos Santos from Spurs. However Ashley needs to loosen the purse strings and it's only early in the market. Another option we could look at is pushing through the likes of Abeid Vuckic and Airey who could show potential. I don't think we should sell Ranger either because I think once he gets a goal he could get the confidence to fire on all cylinders maybe just send him on a 6 month loan deal to a championship side.

{Ed042's Note - Agree with going for Gio, think he would be a great signing for 6 or 7 million, and would definitely bring Vuckic and Airey through, think Abeid will be part of the first team squad this season, has gotten glowing references from the staff since being there and has been rewarded with being brought to America}

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe even Clynne to cover Simpson and a new left back incase Enrique decides to do a runner.

Couple of free agents may just help squad depth e.g. Upson, Reo-Coker and possibly even Carew (although I hate to admit it)

{Ed042's Note - Think we could get Clyne, good young prospect, definitely need a left back for Jose, chap was a hero until his antics of late, think he needs to go at this stage, think instead of Arsenal approaching us we should go to them, ask for Armand Traore and Bendtner, ideally straight swap, but realistically would have to offer a few million with Jose, as for the few frees, dangerous game to play on the basis we could end up with three Smiths on our hands come next season, none of them three would be on small wages, but the right free transfer or swap deal for someone we plan to sell, why not?!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the Traore and Bendtner idea, Traore now has experience after being at Juventus for the season and Bendtner could be lethal if he has the run in a time a top forward needs. I know the free business is risky that's why I would prefer Gio but doubt Ashley will pay out 12m which is being banded about. If we delve into the loan market I'd like us to go for Sturridge (loan to buy) and maybe Welbeck for a season

{Ed042's Note - True, 12 mil is paper talk though, if he wants to go and the club want to sell price comes down, look at Jose as prime example, 8 mil latest valuation for a player that was valued at 12 just over a month ago, sturridge and wellbeck would be two great loan deals, but could see them at the same clubs they were at last season if they do go out on loan}

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed Ed it would be nice to see something positive happen as it seems to be all doom and gloom at the minute. I think we have a strong chance of getting Sturridge and I'd love to see him here as long as it doesn't involve Tiote going in the other direction and Welbeck would be decent however I don't think we'll even offer if he becomes available

{Ed042's Note - Ah definitely, Tiote is the main man, cant let him go, and fair play he seems set on being with us this season and giving it his all, Wellbeck I think is available based on what Ferguson said today about Utd having a major goal threat this season, mentioned Hernandez, Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Macheda and Diouf, but no mention of Wellbeck, think he is in the process of going to be honest, and as much as its not nice to hear, would be almost sure its back to the mackems}

Agree0 Disagree0

No harm in trying to steal in under the noses of the mackems as unlikely as it seems but we have to try and keep the faith

Agree1 Disagree0

Nearly forgot iam off to turkey on tuesday ..think i'll go over see mevlut erding at his auld mans villa and have a chat see if i can talk him into signing ..on a serious note on sky sports their saying the carlton cole move to stoke is off (oh no) that mean he's coming to us..whats your take on that one ed ?

{Ed042's Note - Hard to know what the truth is regarding this one, the media are the media, if they dont have a story theyll make one up, but taking what each side has said about it, Stoke said that it broke down due to wage demands and Pulis making a remark about Coles injury problems, West Ham have said that this is ridiculous as he played over 40 games in the last year, but also said that it wasnt wage demand related as in he wanted too much, more so Cole making a point about wanting wage parity with certain players in the Stoke squad, which depending on who it was he either had a point or didnt, but I think whatever the case Pulis and Cole didnt hit it off and the deal may be dead, as far as him coming to us, there is no factual information or enquiries to back it up, only thing to suggest it is that he once played under Pardew, if we were to go for him, it would be as a back up player, and personally think we could do better, plus I dont think Cole would want to come to someone not giving him first team football at this point in his career, would be as well off staying at West Ham and having a good season in the Championship, regaining some goalscoring confidence, so really cant see this one being true to be honest}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed m8 i know one thing taking me lappy with is on tuesday talk about soap operas lmao...i'll bring you a stick of rock back not red and white stripes though .. {Ed042's Note - Haha cheers lad, enjoy}

Announcement? Hope there is and I hope they do change the East Stand to the Sir Bobby stand.
But why now? After all this time? Probably to appease fans for not spending.
Jose to Arsenal looks likely. Cant see Chelsea signing Tiote. Not after1 season and poor disciplinary record. As for a striker. Anyones guess. Someone in a European league such as Belgium, Holland etc.. so only a small increase in wages. Or they will put Best in a deal with cash for Long/ championship player.
Nothing changes. They know the poor quality in the Prem this season and that we should not go down. Pardew has not got a clue. His not manager of the club. His basically head coach. FC Basel were willing to let Shaqiri go for £6m weeks ago. Now after a great tournament, thats nearly doubled and alot of clubs after him. So frustrating when we are all hoping for a decent transfer window after the Carroll sale and the club said there was extra funds available. Next excuse will be some of the Carroll money went on air fares and hotels for the USA & dutch tours..Petrol for travelling next season and a new club chef
But..still early days..Still hoping. Psycho

newcastle are a joke. I am so gutted with what the outcome of all this expectation and hope we had a few weeks ago with all the rumours and speculation, and in june we done some quik business and signed 3 players. it has gone dead now with only doom and gloom coming out of the club. all this bull**it with wages comin out of our 35m. what other club in th world does that? so if we never sold andy carrol or kevin nolan we would have not bought anyone this year. I seem to remember last year that mike ashley said he would give us 15m if we stayed up. we have basiclally let carrol and nolan leave on free transfers.

Ashley claims we have spent all of the 35mil on these new players, last I heard they were free, clearly he has calculated this by toting up all of their wages over the next 5 years, but with this, we've received season ticket money, and the 40+mil from TV rights, I may be wrong, but last time I checked that 40+mil will more then cover their wages over their contracts, show your true colours and man up Ashley, you've just made 200million profit and I'm sure you could spare a little of that on your "other business" or if not, sell to someone who will

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I seen it coming all along we can all dream on that ashley will ever spend money but he always shows his true colours. we will neva progress as a club until ashley is gone

Tbh were still good enough to beat sunderland with the players weve got were just adding players to beat the many other bigger teams in the league

Agree1 Disagree0

Hahahaha, LMFAO, still good enough to beat S/land, ya team is weaker than last season, and please dont bleat on about, Cabaye and marveaux, cause no one knows what they will be like, only seen on you tube, you lost ya 2 top scorers, Nolan and Carrol, so where's the goals coming from certainly not BA, he'll only last a couple of month and be injured, and there is no money to spend, so you will not be getting any big signings, What we signed are all experienced EPL players apart from 2 Wickham is rated highly by most people in football, and Don Won, if he does good will raise the profile of S/land in his home country, which will increase the shirt sales making more money for the North Easts TOP TEAM, so you SGB find a rock and crawl under it, hope you are not one of them that ashley mugged into buying ya season ticket for the next few years.

Agree0 Disagree2

Haha just cause Mackems can't afford Skysports and ESPN so they can't watch Ligue 1 football hence the reason they all say we've only seen Cabaye and Marveaux on Youtube haha

As for big signings, i wont hold my breath, Puppet Pardew says Bid in for a striker, ive searched the market at all the 1m to 3m strikers on offer to try and find out who it is. In the midst of all this where has the £35m gone I have tried to have a look at the figures, they a rough to say the least.

Players out - Tran Fee - Annual Wages

Carroll - 35m - 3m
Nolan - 4m - 3m
Campbell 0 - 3m

Total Cash £48

Players in - Tran Fee - Sign Fees - Annual Wages

Cabaye - 4.5m - 2m - 2m
Ba - 0 - 5m - 3m
Marveaux - 0 - 2 - 1.5m
Abeid - 0 - 1m - 0.5m
"New Striker" - 8m - 2m - 3m

Total outlay £34.5m

Spare Cash £13.5m

New Contracts - Sign Fee - Additional Annual Wages

Tiote - 1m - 2m
Enrique - 2m - 3m

Total Outlay £8m

Spare Cash £5.5m which they claim to have spent on the training ground etc.

I'm not saying these figures are correct but a rough guide.

It's safe to say we will now need to sell before we buy....

ToonBarmy

Believable1 Unbelievable1

TV rights, ticket sales, merchandise, sponsorship deals....

I'd imagine there's plenty of money to be spent. Whether or not Cashley will let that money be spent is an entirely different matter.

Agree2 Disagree0

Try doing this with liverpool/sunderland transfers.im sorry i dont believe for one second we have to sell to buy.proof of that is the fact we are still bidding for players erdinc zog etc. the fact is we wont be getting any of our first choice targets because MA is a fat lying bar steward, our next striker target will be our 4th choice.
in january we bid 12m for nzogbia obviously a top target so why not worth 10m now, reason greed of MA not nzogbia.
villa sold young/downing go straight to wigan with a bid of 10m for nzogbia knowing its alot for a player with only a year left, but they ll probably get there number 1 target.they only recieved about the same money as what nufc got for carroll.
we have a massive income compared to sunderland via crowd size and ticket prices, yet safc can spend money on transfer fees, wages and sign on fees they also sold players with a similar valuation to that of carrolls.
erdinc and n taylor deals have added to MA portfolio of cock ups which include making fools of nufc heroes keegan and shearer, sacking hughton, bringing in wise, relegation and loads of broken promises.
dont forget we finished 5/6 points above the relegation zone last year, yeah that sounds comfortable but if you take into consideration we got 13 points off the relegated sides, and the fact weve lost nolan and possibly barton, when either of these two didn t play fact nufc did nt win, combine the fact we won only 3 games since the sale of carroll must give the most optimistic fans cause for concern.
anyway at least his pal and our manager can have a good excuse for failure this season when we sign our 10th choice no.9 probably on a free......del

Agree1 Disagree0

You forgot to put on 1m a year on greggs pasties and 4.5m a year on casino chips

Agree1 Disagree0

Last season alone was rumoured to be worth 90 million to the clubs that came up which we were included in that so after paying all bills and taking into account wages we should be left with around 30 to 40 million that should be at least in part re-invested but not looking likely 35 for carroll just about gone and can understand it covers few years of players wages and fees but where is any other investment needed to push any business on to the next level?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley said he would re-invest the £35m, not give us anymore. "The new striker" is included in the figures, what I am saying is that after the "New Striker" I don't expect any anymore mew players unless we sell. When he said he wouldn't take any of the £35m out of the club he told the truth, what he didnt say was that he was going to take a sht load of the other earnings out instead.

ToonBarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

It really doesnt matter how many equations you try to work out to see haow much money you got to spend, the truth is there is none to spend, you heard ya owner and his parrot say the 35 mil has gone on wages for your new signings. Ed why the hell or newcastle trying not to spend because they will not get anywhere without spending money :S

{Ed042's Note - Only Norwich and Sunderland have made more signings than Newcastle so far, and there is still a month left before the start of the season, obviously fans want to see the 35 mil spent but I actually think we have done some good business so far, and we have a definite bid in for a striker at the moment with three other forward targets if it doesnt come off, think tomorrows friendly will also be a good indicator to the staff as to where exactly needs to be strengthened apart from up front, very hard to know from a weeks fitness training, honestly think fans are jumping the gun a bit and getting unduly worried, if we are in the same position in two to three weeks then there is cause for concern but have faith, genuinely think we will make two to four more signings before the season starts, but we are being smart about it for once, why spend 15 million on a player just for the sake of saying we have spent money?}
