Well it looks like we have lost Remy our first choice, lets hope we have a plan be and qucikly act and get him signed on. After this saga it needs to be someone special not an unknown. Hopefully the supposed 3 other players who are alledgedly warming up to us get red hot quickly and sign. Realistically two strikers (don't know who now as I thought Remy would fit into our team well playing wide as a three and with our strong french contingent), a centre back (two if Colo leaves) and a quality midfielder either Sissoko (how embarrasing if he goes to scumberland) or M'villa. Clocks ticking just over two weekd to go, we need six points from next three league games or we could be heading for Championship.

Ok. First of all, If remy goes to QPR we really shouldn't be bothered, he wouldn't be right for the club (money, money, money). Second thing, please please please stop mentioning Maiga, he signed for West Ham 6 months ago and failed a. Medical with us a year ago. Thirdly, can someone please tell me that an article I read that we were interested in Jeremie Aliadiere is false?? Moussa Sissoko that would be a great signing, however, I think Sunderland would put up more money.... I think we have an excellent first 9/10 players but drastically need to spend some cash and dare I say it, up our wage cap as we are going to miss out on many more players. It's sad to say but there just aren't many if any players that play for the shirt and not their pay cheque

Believable6 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2013 22:05:35
i hope newcastle sort it out remy isnt world class otherwise he would of been snatched by a top team not qpr but he would of helped who cares if its a business we are the business its in the board interest to keep the fans happy no fans no club if we don't sign some decent players that's it im done with newcastle ill leave and watch my local lower league team untill this cashley regime is done!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Just go and support them anyway, they could probably do with the money. As for never supporting Newcastle again, well if that is how fickle you are then please be our guest.

Col

Agree2 Disagree4

Never said never supporting again but why should i support a board who are running the club for finances not for the support newcastle is my team but how many seasons can this go on same is happening at arsenal to had enough we need people who are running the club for the club not the money its not fickle just not throwing my money at ashley anymore it might be unfair to myself and the club but that's my choice, you get people saying ashley done this and done that wheres the money from carrol why wouldnt we sort ba's contract out why did we let nolan go and why is pardew being a puppet now he's got his new contract because there all fat and comfortable on a wedge of money that we as fans provide

Agree2 Disagree0

Thats not fickle there's a lot of black and whites won't give cashley there money, doesnt mean he can't have an opinion.i havnt been for years cos of the man, but still kick every ball when there playing.i know its frustrating losing remy to qpr but i wouldnt be offering him 85k per week, they have him.

Agree3 Disagree2

Fair point just venting my anger in words its just annoying because we are a top premier league team and have the quality to be a top 6 football is crazy now and in some ways its good that we don't pay high wages etc but if we want to be in the top of our league we have to pay top wages etc otherwise we can not compete in my opinion ofcourse ill allways follow newcastle but its hard and frustrating to watch all the lies etc my rant wasnt because remy might not sign it was just a factor, who knows he still might sign

Agree1 Disagree0

Is Remy in Newcastle or London??

Believable0 Unbelievable1

14 Jan 2013 21:48:54
As a liverpool fan I've always had a lot of time and respect for Newcastle as fans and as a club... If you miss out on Remy (which looks very likely) would you take Darren Bent? Gets a lot of stick but to be fair to the lad, is a quality finisher...could get him on the cheap from Villa?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Ex Sunderland... Why not.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 21:40:49
Everyone seems suprised about Remy going to QPR this is typical newcastle I don't think he was ever set to come expect a budget striker to come in now no comparison to remy

Believable4 Unbelievable1

14 Jan 2013 21:28:43
I think remy has used us as bait to get a better deal remember de Jong, dirk kuyt and to be honest I don't want remy qpr have jumped on him Harry probably slagged us off to remy I think we should sign hooper sissiko Douglas and Aiden McGeady and good luck to qpr not

Believable4 Unbelievable1

14 Jan 2013 21:28:13
So remys going to qpr, so what, any1 who grumbles calling him a money grabber bla bla are morons, if any body offered you more money than another employer was offering you, you would off like a greyhound out the traps! Just complain we havnt got him, not for the reason why!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

If the reason that he is going to QPR is because he will be paid more, then surely you can question his character. Not every professional person always chooses money over professional pride.
Gone are the days when professional sportmen move to better their ability and standing in the game. Today the only thing that seems to matter to players is how much bling they can buy with their new salary without doing anything to justify it.

Col

Agree3 Disagree1

Gone are the days of shearer, he turned down fergie, the chance to win everything in the game and to be on silly wages, t play for his home town and wear the black and white shirt with pride

Agree4 Disagree0

Shearer was not only English but a Geordie, oh and we paid a record transfer fee for him.

How can you even compare Shearer to Remy when Remy is French for goodness sake and also has not been offered a big amount of money.

The deals could not be anymore unalike.

Agree0 Disagree0

We had a local lad who loved the club and we pimped him off to Liverpool.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm not comparing shearer to remy, i'm merely stating the fact that money talks. Remy had the chance to join ateam with a strong Frenc contingent, and the backing of 52,000 geordies every other week. Instead he's joining a club who are destined for relegation yo make a quick buck then do.one when.someone pays his get out clause. We need a player like shearer who would run through brick walls for the club, someone like graham, local lad and would wear the shirt with pride.

Need to do everything they can now to get aubameyang NO EXCUSES

Believable3 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2013 21:07:22
well, pardew said we won't be outbid by other clubs. We've just been embarrassed by a bottom of the league club, can't believe how much money is involved in football. Totally ridiculous. Ed, is there any chance we could still get remy or has practically signed for qpr? I'm so agitated, losing out to remy to qpr is ridiculous. We need a new striker soon or someone to go on the left wing for reading and don't get me started on a centre back.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Don't want remy now he's made his bed he can wake up to the kiddy catcher everyday now good riddance .its not about the money money o yes it is

14 Jan 2013 20:59:59
hi lads do you think we are just going to make do till end off season. who's going to go down instead of qpr because they are determined not to go down they have fire in belly shame we didn't

Believable7 Unbelievable2

14 Jan 2013 21:21:36
Don't blame him choosing qpr, we offered 60k he was on that in France . The only people to blame is Ashley and his lapdog. Championship here we come. Expectalot of players to leave in the summer

Just wondering if anyone here thinks that AP needs to start changing his tactics ? He constantly plays a 4-5-1 formation .This for all to see is not working and actually causes us more problems than benefits i.e lack of support for the loan front man, players being caught out of possition due to not being wingers etc, no true width, players to compact and not enough movement ahead of the ball, I could go on but overall its just a shambles. The only time we seem to play a 4-4-2 is when we go behind that in itself says to me that AP thinks we are more dangerous playing 4-4-2 than the 4-5-1 that he starts with. Before anyone replies that this was the formation that we played mainly last season and it worked, my reply to that would be that was last season and for me personally it is not working and it will ultimateley be our downfall this season

Believable9 Unbelievable6

The 4-5-1 system is proven all across Yewrope, we have the players to be able to acommodate this, however they just seem to be lethargic in their approach. I say play Shola Ameobi up front as he has the physical attributes required and play Cisse on the wing to supply the ammunition

Agree1 Disagree2

What do you mean play Ameobi up front and Cisse on the wing, that's what AP does anyway. I have to agree with Mr C's opening comments.

Agree3 Disagree0

He needs to start playing 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 and as with most teams when playing these formations, when they don't have the ball one of the attacking 2 will drop back into the centre of midfield to help out not out wide on the wing SIMPLES!.regardless of our opinions one thing is sure the tactics at the moment are a 100% not working..any thoughts on this Ed? {Ed013's Note - If things aren't working then I would go back to basics and try the 442 although who can play up front? Maybe Cisse is better on his own with 2 attacking midfielders playing off of him}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, have to agree with you that AP needs to start playing 442, as for who can play up front, why not play Cisse alongside the Walker Pele (Ameobi), after all he still has potential. Ed your thoughts? {Ed013's Note - He is a grafter mate and loves Newcastle, I just sense the fans are sick of his lack of goals}

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 20:44:37
why would you sign for qpr unless its for cash. maybe relegation clause in contract he's got a lot of friends at newcastle and could settle very quickly also he refused to talk to arry last week. i think barton is stirring the sh*t because toon and qpr didn't want him.if remy had gone for cash well good ridance there is better players out there

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He hasn't gone yet, ed, has remy made his decision to go to qpr or is he still yet to decide? {Ed013's Note - He hasn't signed for QPR yet}

Agree1 Disagree0

Just shows how much of a mercenary he is. Beginning of the week he was all for Arsenal. Wenger didn't want him and he was back in love with Newcastle now QPR are offering bigger wages he off to them.

Hi guys, an Everton fan here, just wondering what you lot think of dan gosling? I always quite liked him at the blues to be honest and he seemed to be progressing quite well. Anyway just wondering what you thought of him, he doesn't seem to be fancied from what I've seen. Cheers lads
BlueClarkey

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Peaceful comment :) nice to see, gosling for me, does not have a future at newcastle, every time i see him he just doesn't seem suitable for any position, i reckon he'd be better off at villa, considering they pick a bunch of 10 year olds every week.

Agree5 Disagree0

Hes a sick note, don't think he ll get a chance at nufc now, possibly if we were to get relegated .would like him to stay fit for a season to see what he can do ..del

If nothing else Redknapp is a hypercrit. Complaining of paying players over the odds in wages who have no fight for the club. And then he try's (gets) Remy. Just think of Remy's awkwardness in may when qpr go down and he has to look for a new club or better yet experiences of English tier 2 football.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Im a mackem and harry redknapp is a manipulative wheeler dealer and fills potential targets with crap, plainly speaking he is a bit of a slimeball, safc have learnt from this and i hope he goes down with qpr and we never see his saggy face ever again

14 Jan 2013 20:17:48
as i told all the fans that remy wouldnt sign only got offerd 60k contract and things are bad when qpr 18.000 stadium paying 90k a wk to remy players don't care how big the club is its all about the take home pay they don't care about football,,, i said all along would want a player that plays for the pride of the shirt not the money,, bring in graham..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Hear, hear id take any good player that want to play for the shirt and pride of newcastle..... howay the lads up the toon be postive we deserve people that want to play for football reasons not the money...

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't think he's decided yet, he's going to have a medical at qpr and will probs make his decision after that. But if he chooses qpr then that just shows how much loyalty and pride has just gone out the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

I 2nd that, Danny Graham is similar to Shane Long and is lethal infront of goal.

I know there are a lot of fans that want the big name signings but I assure you, Danny Graham would get the goals.

His signing would be a bit like Craig Bellamy, people not getting excited by the signature but being surprised by the form.

he we go again i can just hear the patter now the market was difficult we could not get them over the line a mean how can we compete with a big club like QPR !! if we lose remy to them we might as well go down coz we are not second rate but third rate we will never amout to anything with this current regime all that ashley wants is cheap transfers on even cheaper wages and if they show promise sell them on !! i believe we have signed our one and only major transfer the rest will be nobodys coz pards says we have got all our big guns coming back but maybe he has forgot they have failed to deliver all season and we have sold our one and only consistent player plus if we do lose colo well say goodbye to the premiership !!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Thats rubbish pal, remy gone for massive money, that's all at least we know it now rather than later ! We should club pay him stupid money, what has he done to earn it ?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 19:52:16
hey do you think we will get sissoko

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I am not sure I care at this point, we don't need anymore central midfielders right now.

We need strikers and centrebacks.

The only reason we would buy Sissoko is because he is available on the cheap meaning Ashley is getting the pound signs in his eyes.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 19:52:07
remy signed for qpr.....pardew or rednapp no choice rely.....he based his decision on who he believes has the best chance of prem survival and we nufc lost.....never mind we still have shoala

Believable1 Unbelievable2

No m8 he has gone for £££££ coz we won't pay stupid over the top wages

Remy now off to QPR,
"Reports in the North East say Newcastle are unlikely to be able to match the excellent terms which have been offered by QPR."

More like won't, Once again NUFC penny pinching.

Newcastle may as well be in the Championship, if we can't compete with QPR (Becuase as we all no QPR is a big club!)

Believable5 Unbelievable1

So you'd prefer to pay a player over the odds just to get them through the door. Personally i want players that want to play for the club, and play infront of big crowds etc, rather than players looking for a pay day. We've been there and it didn't work.
If Remy goes to QPR it is down to money, and his contract will have release clause after release clause when they go down.
Harry Rednapp seems hell bent on destroying smaller clubs, Portsmouth, and now QPR.

Does anyone ack know if Remy in in Newcastle, I have heard rumours but can anyone confirm it? Edd you know anything? I am in Iraq and don't get the local news so keep me posted. {Ed013's Note - He may have an offer from another club now}

players that sound like there leaving nufc just heard in an interview hatem ben arfa wants to go to psg as its his child hood dream colo looks to be on his way out family reasons can't imagine simpson wanting to sit on the bench all season with debuchey coming in can we really afford to let any one go our squad is so small im honestly really worried i want to be positive but i just cant

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Hatem won't go to PSG this season, maybe at the end of the season if they make an offer, but that's it. Colo might go, but again he'll stay til the end of the season, then go. Simpson can do one for all I care. I'd rather have Tav as a back up RB anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sais eventually like to play for them

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 10:28:50
Is there any truth in rumour Ben-arfa wants to leave for psg (ed {Ed002's Note - It was a comment made in an interview with a French magazine that his childhood dream was to play for them.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

He does not want to leave right now, he said that he admires PSG and would be open to playing for them one day, which is normal considering that he is French and it is his homeland.

Most players that are abroad return home to finish their careers out.

Agree5 Disagree0

He said he had to "save" newcastle first, so won't move until at least summer

Agree3 Disagree0

He made it clear PSG is a potential destination for the future IF they come in for him.He said he wants to help keeps us in the PL first though, so no he isn't leaving us yet . Still 3 or 4 weeks away from starting a game too.

Agree3 Disagree1

So maybe he's giving PSG a hint to come in for him in the summer. after he secures PL status (or not) for us.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 09:48:32
i would like to see tomkins but only for the right price, 10m far to much, but if colo goes need someone like hangeland or samba who can lead the back line with prem experience..del

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree £10mill is too much. I also agree that getting someone like Hangeland if Colo goes is essential. I know Hangeland is over our age policy but he would be my preferred option. He's strong and tall and ticks all the boxes we would need if you ask me. Problem in bringing in an unknown player to do the job would be that everyone would judge them in relation to Colo but if we got an experienced PL player in then they have their own reputation that we already have knowledge of.

Agree5 Disagree0

14 Jan 2013 06:34:23
Guys I agree get anyone in atm to get us to safety. But I feel in future we need some english/british players
. Would like to see Tompkens and Danny graham in the squad.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

I agree get Tomkins in, looks to be a great player and think he would be able to settle in the newcastle squad quite well. Danny Graham on the other hand is not a great player. Yes he works hard but what has he brought to Swansea? Not the goals that we clearly need. I agree we need to start looking at English and British talent but this won't come in this transfer window and we can attract the better players if we are still in the Premiership at the end of the season.

Agree2 Disagree2

Tomkins is no better than Willo. With West ham in the clag as well, do you think they would let him go if he was a solid, dependable fighter? I hear Chris Samba wants to come back - now that's what I call a stopper!

Agree1 Disagree0

Danny Graham did not bring goals to swansea?

His goals per minute ratio last season is about the same as Ba, maybe better.

Ba scored 16 goals in 34 games, and I would say he averaged 80 minutes field time per game.

Graham scored 12 in 36 games, but probably only managed an average of about 45 minutes in those 36 games.

Why do I know this and you don't?

Because you cannot be bothered to figure out how good a player is before running their name into the ground.

Please do a bit of research into a player before bad mouthing them, you never know... they may be better than the odd highlight you seen of them on MOTD.

I would bet my house on the fact that Graham could come in and score more goals where Cisse just isn't doing it. (Graham would cost about a third of what Cisse did)

Agree0 Disagree2

Cisse has been played out of position all season and even though he's now been moved had little service V Norwich . This is a guy who scored for fun in Germany And with us last season, some people have ruddy short memories, get behind the lad, you never know it just might pay off.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cisse has been played out of position all season and even though he's now been moved had little service V Norwich . This is a guy who scored for fun in Germany And with us last season, some people have ruddy short memories, get behind the lad, you never know it just might pay off.

Agree2 Disagree0

I have nothing but faith in our number 9 and believe he will come good, the point I was making was about Danny Graham, not Cisse.

You are going off subject.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we want a mediocre striker when we have the likes of cisse and possibly remy might i would rather have leon best again, no one cares about researching him because he isnt interesting lol
