ed i thought ryan taylor played good and he wants to play for newcastle we need players like him nd not players like xisco who can't be bothered. ed how many goals did rodallega score last season? was it something like 3. I think we need to sign a player like lacina traore tall with pace or yannick djalo who has pace.

Yeah - we need players like R Taylor who are committed squad players. But we also need people who can fill the starting 11.

Rodallega may be a good addition if him and Ba can get a good thing going. Ba and Shola definitely havent - never saw a ball go between them on Saturday.

I think Ryan Taylor gave a good account of himself considering he was out of position and I do agree he wants to play for the club.

Although it was apparent that our 2 wide defensive positions are very weak. Every time Simpson got the ball I was biting my nails and Gervinho was giving Ryan the run around a bit. If we get Pieters I still think we need a new RB. Someone like Hutton.

Played well? obviously you have never played at a decent standard, admittedly he was at left back, which is not his position, but the skills are transferable, from the man who says he no longer wants to be known as a utility player and be our long term right back, he made every single mistake in the book, short of smashing an own goal in, caught square on every time, and beaten in every challenge, his performance was summed up by the volley in the second half, which he planted nicely into the sir john hall row z, but other than that, an A* performance

His volley was the closesgt thing we had to a shot in the first half gervhino slipped past him a bit but in the second half he tightened up

A name that's been mentioned on here before, Tim Matavz he has just scored a hat trick for Groningen today.

Good goalscoring record for Groningen last season and he is young. We should be going for someone like that just now.

Alright Geo. I have put his name up a couple of times with his stats. I think his quality. Would be a Big hit here I think:

2010-11: 18 gls in 31 games.
2009-10: 14 gls in 24 games.
Slovenia (full int'nal) 4 goals in 5 games.
Still only 22 years old.
Cannot see why we should not snap him up before a big team does. Seen it happen with a couple of players in the Dutch lge.

Well if pieters will cost £7m and Maiga 7mill. That means ashley will have to fork out £14m. Which means that no money will be spent for another two years.

Come on, if Ashley spends £14m on these 2 then people need to get off his back.

1st it is he ain't going to spend anything, then when he does spend, people want him to spend more.

I don't think we can complain to much if these 2 signings happen this week.

me mate came back to the pub after game last night and said its the first time in over 40 years as a season ticket holder he fell asleep during the game. predicts a relegation scrap if no signings are made and is not looking forward to next weeks game as he fears the worst.

Yeah but if Nasri and Fabregas had been playing it would of been a brilliant to get a point i'm guessing. I'd take a point of them now rather face them when they've got upto speed.

No its that barton is a t***er. if he never played for you lot then you would feel exactly the same way and dont try to deny it

As a visiting Macem, watched your game to see Cabaye never turned up, Barton still your best midfielder but possible liability. Got frustrated and reverted to rough tactics but you need that sometimes. Keeper not to much to do OK. defence Coll good, apart from that STaylor? not sure but total arse of a man as for rest you need defenders. Up front Ba none existent and Shola has been going fulfill potential since the start of football,Keegan era. A Mackems view, good point against Arsenal what ever team they put out decent midfield but wafer thin squad and if Colli goes from defense this will be a long season for you. see you next week FTM

Notice you left out obertan and wat you on about cabaye did do well show he could defend as well as attack and he made some sweet passes all in his first prem game see gd things to come from both these lads
