Michael Owen has us down to finish 16th this season. Thoughts?

Hope we do that well. It's not looking like it at the moment.

We are probs only just ahead of the 3 newly promoted teams.

If we're as unlucky with injuries as last season that's a strong possibility. Hopefully not though. The regime is gambling again and I'm feeling very down and worried about next season. By time the window closes the brave face will be back on and I'll be behind the team again.

Michael Owen's cheese it not quite on his cracker though. It never has been.

He could have been an English striking legend, but he has some strange ideas which ruined his career.

You have to laugh at Ferguson almost taking him hostage and never playing him, he had that coming.

Don't expect any cup runs this season. Last season shola the day after the Brighton game he went into Mercedes and was asked why they didn't even put a shift in and why he was just laughing with one of there players, his reply was 'it's only the fa cup'

Rubbish. Absolute rubbish. We didn't put the effort in for the FA cup last season because we already had the Europa league on a paper thin squad. Pardew has said today he'll be going after the FA cup as he's been close to winning it in the past with West Ham United and at Palace.

Pardew said that every year, and rightly so, footballers or just overpaid lay abouts

Shouldn't that be a better side on the day? Especially as it was practically the reserves.

i feel a bidding frenzy activity last few days. ince not worth mentioning because he wants to stay put, I think bent 3rd sriker will come, gomis 2nd striker, cisse 1st striker and remy on left wing or striker when folk get bored of cisse offside all time. and cabeye going for around 17 mil, top pre season scoring ameobi going, as won't get footy ahead of world cup,

A bidding frenzy. You must be the most optimistic fan out there. I think the rest of us have settled for what we have. Sad but true.

We won't sell cabaye unless its like 25m

Agree that will be a lot of deals going through late in the window, but won't get Gomis (I'm glad) or Bent. Don't think we will even get another striker before the window closes.
I think Cabeye will be sold in the last few days of the window not giving us time to get a replacement. The big teams after him will offer too much cash to turn down. Will have to hope Marveaux can step in as he is the only other midfielder that can pass.
Was hoping PSG would offer us a swap in Verratti for Cabeye but he has just signed a contract extension. Probs no chance anyway as he is one of the to defensive young CM in the world at the moment. He may not be the strongest tackler but his creativity is second to none.

Doesn't seem that we are even considering selling Cabeye as have not been linked with any replacements. So if he is sold late on we are totally screwed.

Why 25 mill for cabaye? he ain't that good, 18 at a push

Yes he's not worth 18m but 25m is our asking price as we don't want to sell him!
