ok so going back to a post I made the other day regarding some inside info I had been given that Newcastle were interested in a player from stoke but I would know more in the next few days. I sat and wondered who it could be. looking at striking options I drew a blank as to who we could be after as none would seem to fit the bill so I considered defensive options. obviously the first thing I thought was shawcross. but I couldn't see stoke letting him go or us being willing to pay the money. I actually wold have seen that as a good move. however from what I am being told. it would actually seem that it is Robert Huth who we have been in touch about. I don't really know what to think about that. he lacks pace so him and collo I think would struggle and I have to admit I havnt seen much of him over the last 2 seasons so can't really judge. but he does have the experience and seems to have been around for ever. would anyone else welcome this move?? is he better than what we have??
I thought we should have gone for him at boro. He is consistent and efficient which we have seen with williamson is half the battle. I think he tends to get injured a bit though.
Most defenders get injured it seems. , I was going to say keep your tabs on Ben Gibson at boro. However he injured for a month after first game ha ha. Think you will usual see quiet a few injuries at beginning of season because nobody fully fit for competitive football I believe.
Kostas manolas of olympiakos is available for around 5m. I think he would be a good buy for our defence.
