we need to play a sold 4-4-2.
None of this rubbish front 3, resulting in Ba or Cisse being like a duck out of water on the left. Makes them completely ineffective.
Gutierrez is lost in the middle of the park when in a midfield trio.....he needs to be out wide on the left, he has nothing to offer in the middle.
And HBA is best out on the right, we cant get the ball to him when he's playing up as part of a front 3. When HBA is on the right wing, his tracking back is superb and he plays this position very well.

Sorry but you say that having Ba or Cisse on the left in 4-3-3 makes them ineffectual and that playing them in 4-4-2 will work but have they ever once played well together in 4-4-2? I can't remember any time where they were so your solution just creates more problems as we'll have 2 ineffectual strikers instead of one. And I don't know why your so against the front 3 when it's been proven to work. We went on a great run at the end of last season with a front 3 and if we can rediscover that form, we'll start climbing the table.
Are you talking about a different team? We have been sh*t in a 442, HBA is best on the right wing in a front three but ba and cisse need to battle for the CF role. But we need a proper left winger and ur right gutierrez isn't very good in the middle so maybe sissoko or bigi needs to replace him but anita is defo best at RB.

Well looks like the 442 worked.
Solution is to sell Ba or Cisse. Trying to accommodate both of them to keep them happy is costing us dearly. We played 4-3-3 last year and won 6 on the trot. 4-4-2 is a terrible formation with no fluidity about it. One of them needs to go, and someone younger needs to be brought in because that performance ( against West Ham ) was nothing short of abject.
Ba and Cisse can't play together in a 2 they can in 4 3 3. Look at last season we were awful again today. Williamson, Simpson woeful, Pardew got the team wrong Fergie was invisible till they scored and sat back. He needs to start playing the first eleven in Europe because at the minute it's a bunch of strangers
Newcastle are pushovers in midfield so 4-3-3 wont work for us
we need to play four across the middle otherwise we'll get dominated week in week out, like we have all season so far!!
Pardew needs to wake up.......he has enough players to field a very good first 11, and to have a strong bench! but this season is passing us by.
i cant believe that up until the west ham game he was saying the europa games were disruptive, when he was making wholesale changes, practically playing a reserve team.
We need to stop worrying about our opposition and just playing our own way.....but Pardew is so defensive. Not enjoying this season at all....we are lucky to have as many points as we do so far, both in league and europe....in fact we were lucky to even get past Atromitos.....thats how bad we are.
