A lot of people saying we've got a real chance against city. Me head is saying that as art said, we're lambs to the slaughter, but me hearts saying that we can surprise city. I'm going with 1-3 city anyway, here's my team if cabaye is fit.

Man City are far too good going forward even without Aguero. There is no chance of us keeping a clean sheet and we never come back once we go behind.

If we can score first we may get a draw at best.

Why does everyone want to play santon in midfield. He would be as much use as Jonas.

I would like to see Tiote dropped and play Cabeye, Anita and Sissoko in CM with a front 3 of Gouffran, Remy and Cisse or Ben Arfa.

We are never going to develop the team into a good passing possession based side with Tiote in it. He can't pass and is caught out of position all the time then gives away fouls try to get back. Pardew loves Tiote so it's not going to happen. We will get stuck in a rut again with no way of getting out.

Everyone wants us to sign a new striker but if we do that pardew will start to play 442 and look what happened to Swansea when we last did that. Need to stick with the 451/433 formation and get the players out that don't fit and players in that do.

Toonman I can't agree with your opinion on Tiote. He has been one of most consistent players this season and is a must in the middle of the park. A lot of his work goes unnoticed but he is key to breaking up play and for us getting the right result against City.
Agree with the Santon point though. He has been found out. Haidera is much the better fullback.

Toonman, so you'd rather play santon LB, he has been awful there and as fnuklnuk said he's been found out, i'd much prefer haidara defending against navas, aguero, nasri, silva. and I don't know if you saw our first game of the season but we tried playing 433 against city and got DESTROYED down the wings.

Man City destroy everyone at the etihad. It didn't matter what team we put out against city away from home we were always going to get thrashed.

Tiote needs to change. Needs to play more like mikel of Chelsea and medel of Cardiff. If he sat deaper then he would be attacking the ball all the time. At the moment he gives away fouls trying to get back, he can't score, create or attack so why try and get forward in the first place.

Tiote has been fantastic this season

Let's assess the squad:

• Krul - seems very up and down lately
• Elliot - Average backup, not seen enough of him really
• Alnwick - Looks a top prospect
• Debuchy - Top, top right back, statistically been one of the best in the league
• Santon - looks very promising, but he's a winger not a fullback
• Haidara - Really like the look of him, solid, strong and pacey
• Dummett - Needs more time
• Mbiwa - He's a top centre back and we are very lucky to have him, but again the coaches aren't getting the best out of him
• Coloccini - obviously doesn't want to be here, sell him in the summer
• Williamson - what a loyal player, and has done a great job for us
• Taylor - He bleeds black and white, but he's average and has poor decision making
• Cabaye - wants to leave, don't blame him, quality midfielder
• Tiote - tank, say no more
• Anita - Does a great job for the team
• Sissoko - we don't seem to know what his position is, coaches not getting the best out of him
• Bigirimana - A top prospect, send him out on loan
• Ben Arfa - One of our best attacking players, again we're not getting the best out of him
• Obertan - sell him, say no more
• Jonas - Sell him
• Marveaux - very creative player, looks like we're going to sell him
• Sammy Ameobi - looks promising but hot and cold
• Gouffran - A grafter and a great utility attacking player
• remy - He'll probs leave for arsenal at the end of the season, don't blame him really, but looks like he can be the next Thierry Henry
• Cisse - Coaches not getting the best out of him, a good striker anyway
• Shola - sell him, waste of space in afraid
• Campbell - top prospect, he loves Newcastle

Elliot, S. Taylor, Obertan, Jonas and Shola are not good enough and should be sold or let go of either this transfer window or next add Cisse to that list unless he drastically improves.
Marveaux is good enough to be part of the squad but Pardew thinks otherwise so he must go.
Can't see Colo, Cabaye and Remy being here by the end of the Summer transfer window.
When will Sameobi step up if he's ever going to?
Why has Bigi been completely frozen out from the first team? he was more than good enough last season playing 25 games for us.
Will Ben Arfa stay if he keeps playing a bit part role? Same goes for Yanga-Mbiwa.

Whatever happened to Vukic? I remember when he was a kid and it was being said he was going to be amazing, I saw him in a few of the reserve games and he looked good but when are we going to give him a decent shot? He could be good, when he comes back from loan he needs a few games or what's the point? He's22 now! I know he's an injury magnet.

Yes, if it's just to bolster numbers we shouldn't either, need to get rid of a few hangers on (Obertan for example) before the fat one will put his hands in his pockets.
