So, we are back in for Gomis. but don't worry, if we don't get him this time we will try and get a last minute loan deal for Demba Ba. How pathetic is this. Why have we left it so late - we have needed a striker since last summer yet here we are again, at the end of a window scrambling around with no guarantee we will get anybody.
On Cabaye, Pardew says, "if we do sell him we will get in someone as good". Please explain with the time left, how we can do that. Who can we find and can we actually get them. More importantly - why would they want to come.
This whole club is now a joke and it breaks my heart.

SOS

1.) Shola just played well. No more strikers.

2.) Did Pardew really say that, or did he say'We will need to bring in someone as good'?

3.) Easy to get someone in as good as there are plenty of average players floating around, give yourself a shake Wenger.

4.) Obviously the whole transfer strategy this summer since JFK returned was based on flogging Cabaye off to PSG for silly money and now that doesn't look like happening they're shrugging their shoulders. I reckon if they can't tie up Ba or Gomis for under £7m they'll just wait for January.

£30m for a wannabe neverwillbe. Bet Rafa is opening a bottle of bubbles tonight. Well played Maestro.

Spurs think he is and he is their problem now.
On his day he can be an asset, problem is he never has too many of those days.

Live and Let Die!

John Carver

Lost the fans (the day you got the job)
Lost the team
Lost the players
Lost your head again (todays after match press conference was an embarrassment)
Lost the plot

Wish you would get lost

Reading the Chronicle posts about fans comments on social media. A lot of positivity from fans about Carver being honest in his post match interview.
Well let's be honest. Carver is not up to the job. That was his team today. His choice to play Goufran (again). His choice to play Colback at left back and Jonas in central midfield. His tactics. His subs - I mean, Riviere, really. Armstrong - 5 minutes? His inability to get the team motivated and in the right mind set to take on our oldest rivals. His sheer lack of any ability, tactical nous, leadership or man management.
So please, do not praise the buffoon for his failings just because he admits to them and criticises the (his) team

Minority I think. Reading Twitter I think every fan has just about had enough.

I hope that game will finally give some fans to try and organize some protests, and to also maybe boycott the last few games

2.) 07 Apr 2015 11:40:29
Not another protest :-) carver is a stop gap between the last man you drove out and the one you will drive out next.
Your loss is Palace's gain, surely its time to stop protesting and start backing your next manager who ever they are and no matter where their from beit north south east or west or even mars.
Spurs Newcastle

3.) 07 Apr 2015 13:28:14
can we swap carver for we ger please?

4.) 07 Apr 2015 14:57:16
:-) I think you'd have trouble swapping Carver for a pork chop or even Brendan Rodger's desree, but while your going backwards yet again Pardew carreer is very much on the up.
There has to come a time surely when you at least stop to consider " could the problem be us? And not all these managers.

5.) 07 Apr 2015 15:33:50
gunner62

These protests are against the main problem, Mike Ashley, Pardew was only part of the problem. Ashley has killed all the passion out of the club, and its time for the fans to make a stand, and get our club back.

6.) 07 Apr 2015 16:14:50
JT I sympathize to some degree as Ashley is a business man not a Newcastle fan and that's never good.
But to go back to buying the likes of Michael Owen paying them mega money to play for England but not Newcastle days couldn't go on and there's no doubt a lot of star players saw your club as one last massive pay day when they couldn't get a better move.
If someone buys Ashley out it won't be a money no object billionaire it will be a steady progress man or woman that will take time to build anything sustainable and successful and that may mean you having to back a manager who has no former connection with the club and dare I say it even from the south of the country :-) could you handle backing a southner for 4 years if it ment success further down the line?

7.) 07 Apr 2015 18:49:07
Pardew came to the Toon took over a good team got us to 5th, ruined the team and we went backwards. He has taken over at Palace a decent team left for him let's see how they do over the next couple of years before we over praise him (I will admit so far he is doing a great job)

8.) 07 Apr 2015 22:31:42
Pardew has a track record of purple patches. And the majority of fans just want a modern day coach who can get the team to play decent football and get some belief in the team.

Non of us expect huge signings, we understand this is a business. if it is a sports business, then the regime have come out and said we aren't even trying to compete for silverware. If we are an entertainment business, well trade descriptions act should be enforced.

I don't think protests are the answers, boycott games, don't renew season tickets and stop buying shirts if you have had enough. If you still want to go to the games then that's cool too. But I agree, the protests never reflect well on the fans, especially when Pardew has hit a purple patch. And let's not forget, had the leadership at NUFC acted responsibly and hired interim managers we would not be in the mess we are in.

9.) 07 Apr 2015 22:59:52
That's an excellent post desree, you can only have so many protests within a certain time scale and be taken seriously, its a case of
The Newcastle fans are holding a protest!
What about this week?

Sick. Sick of Ashley, sick of Carver, sick of Goufran, sick of losing to them, sick of seeing my team being white. Sick, sick, sick

From what I saw his team played better football in the 2nd half than we did. They scored 3 goals and had 4 shots hit the post plus several other attempts on goal. I would settle for that

Performance was ok for a pre-season friendly. Another good game for Cabella, Janmaat was impessive and some nice football at times. I don't go to look at the advertising so it does not bother me.
Looking forward to next Sunday
