Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign remy Cabella from montpellier for a fee believed to be in the region of 12million euros. Cabella is set to fly in over the weekend to complete the formalities before signing a 6 year deal with personal terms having already been agreed earlier this summer.

Mathieu debuchy is set to complete his 10 million move to arsenal this week, he has already completed a medical & agreed a 3 year contract with the deal set to be announced once newcastle have sealed the cabella move. Newcastle will receive 9.6 million upfront for the frenchman who could nett the club a further 3.2 million in perfomance related bonuses taking the potential fee to 12.8 million for player who only cost 6million 18months ago.

Daryl janmaat is first choice replacement for debuchy but it may take longer to complete a move with feyenord playing hardball over the fee with Manchester United also rumoured to be interested. Something close to 5million should be enough but we are also looking at alternative options should Manchester United decide to make an offer for janmaat. Micah richards is available on a free transfer but his astronomical wages would make any deal difficult to do unless he was prepared to take a big wage drop. We have also scouted serge aurier of toulouse & ajax's ricardo van rhyn who are available at similar prices but it is janmaat who remains our top target.

Emmanuel riviere is also said to be close to joining newcastle this week, according to reports in france a fee has been agreed with monaco of between 6-10 million euros. Riviere has already been heavily linked with a move to the permier league this summer with stoke or west brom but it is newcastle who are in pole position to sign the 24 year old having been tracking him since his early days at st ettiene & toulouse.

Demba ba & loic remy have been linked with a return to newcastle this summer, with ba suplus to requirements at chelsea & remy starting to look a bit naive waiting for a champions league team to come in for him its not hard to see where this rumour has come from. It is however difficult to imagine either player returning unless it represents a very good deal for the club. That would probably mean ba having to take a wage cut or getting a cut price transfer fee and remy being prepared to lower his wage expectations & move up north permanently things both players seem reluctant to do.

There are other stories that have been circling the last few weeks with newcastle being linked with everyone from enner valencia to guilermo ochoa, clement grenier to lewis holtby there's nothing concrete to these stories so don't expect any of them to happen its just the usual mix of agents & journalists trying to posistion players for moves and come up with what if scenarios.

Even if the deals mentioned above are completed newcastle will still be short upfront so expect the next few weeks to throw up some more interesting names but the only one's I would expect to have a realistic chance would be lacazette, bacca or maybe a loan deal for joel campbell.

Update: Newcastle are still interested in borussia dortmund striker pierre emerick aubamayang. Should the german club decide to let him leave this summer newcastle could face competition from chelsea for the highly rated forward. Although aubamayang has had a reasonable first season in germany, it seems that he isn't part of jurgen klopp's plans & given that he has failed to settle in to life in dortmund a summer exit could be on the cards. Newcastle are hoping to complete a cut price deal of around 9 million euros, 3 million less than dortmund paid for him this time last year.

2.) If we get Aubameyang then someone needs to own up about who stole Ashley's wallet

3.) I really hope this is true P. E. A is a seriously good player! Great skill, awareness and can score goals! Got bags of pace and a decent head.
