Surely PSG have to sell some players to balance the books (financial fair play).

Pastore would be a great buy to play in the no.10 position. Without Shelvey we lak creativity. Pastore could well lose his place due to the signing of Neymar.

But it looks like we won't be getting anyone else until all the crap is moved out. And me are going to have to have a couple of years back in the premier league before we could even consider spending over £20 million on 1 player.

I could 100% guarantee Ashley would not pursue someone like pastore let alone pay a 25m+ transfer fee and 120k wages.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 13:54:11
No money man Ashley is not interested in Quality players or paying for them
Rafa accepted what is happening
His heart to heart with Ashley was full of contradictions and he should have known better

Building Newcastle from the ground up was the deciding factor but as is now known Ashley's idiotic way

I'm only human Rafa's swansong.

Who do we go for in the window to try and keep us up?

Are so many positions that we need to strengthen the list could be endless.

Need a centre back, a left back, centre mid and striker.

Can't think of many British players that would want to sign for us. Want us to get Shelby as he can tackle, pass and score a few but he is probably better off at Swansea.

Willems and Guerreiro both look like good full backs but are untested at a high level. But we need to take the risk.

Austin and Remy have proven that can score in premier league but Remy has turned us down twice and Austins injury record isn't great.

Don't have a clue about centre back, whoever we could get would be a risk as will be foreign and take a couple of seasons to get going like Colo did. Although Mbemba is looking good already.

Still looking at too many Frenchmen for my liking.

Am not convinced that the squad he have can keep us in the league.
Need to get 4 in in January and get the trash out.

If we lose the derby again I think we have had it. Whoever loses is down.

Again we are tactically inept. You can't play the same way away from home as you do at home.
We think we are better than we are.
Should be sitting back with no space behind the back 4. Where was the protection from the midfield for Janmatt? Is obvious that Montero is on form from last week.
We seem to think we can beat anyone anywhere.
Away games should be 10 men behind the ball and hit on the break. That's how Chelsea have been so successful.

Not yesterday they wern't

are you advocating we go back to pardews tactics?

Seems we are going to miss out on Micah Richards now. Is Aston Villa really a more attractive club than we are or are we not even in for him?
We are going to end up with the usual shocking cheap second rate players.
The club needs to make a statement of their intent and pay the money for 2 top signings.
A lot of talk how good firminio is. Is he any good? Worth 18 mil? Instead we are just being linked with promising youngsters. When was the last player we developed into world beater?
It's going to be another depressing year.

DR Toonman

{Ed001's Note - McClaren has worked with Richards before, so knows how poor he is in training, when he bothers to turn up. He doesn't want him, nor do most managers.

Firmino is excellent.}

1.) 16 Jun 2015 07:01:28
Ed our players are great in training (according to Carver) but rubbish on the pitch, if they decide to turn up!

{Ed001's Note - that is down to not having an actual manager, everyone knew Carver was just filling in until McClaren became available. Anyway it is not about the quality showed in training, it is about making an effort to improve yourself, which Richards does not. He has a horrible attitude.}

2.) 16 Jun 2015 13:01:07
doc we will lik ly miss out on austin, bas dost, trippier, juanmi, van dijk, in fact any player we are linked with, the reason is Charnley as he is more concerned with impressing his boss by trying get cut price deals. if a player is in demand he will go to the highest bidder, not the lowest Lee?

Doesn't matter what happens over next 2 weeks, things are going to stay bad.

If we stay up, will be exactly the same next season. Poor players, poor coach, poor medical staff, no good signings and another relegation battle.

If we go down, Carver will be appointed permanent as know one else would want the job, and again all the above. Perhaps may be good enough to stay in the championship with the amount of poor teams in it. Armstrong may become top notch playing regularly. Would probs win more games so wouldn't be so depressing.

If we stay up everything at the club has to change. Staff, players, owner etc. but it's never going to happen. Ashley won't go, he won't change the way he runs things or spends money. Links/rumours with players will come out getting people to renew tickets. The only way to get Ashley out is to go down.

Never mind at least you've still got your protests to keep you happy.
Things are a,long way from right but its not so long ago you were the one last big pay day club for players the big clubs no longer wanted.
Players who strangely enough always managed to be fit around international time but injured when it came to playing for you but still picked up massive wages from you leaving your club with big debts.
If back your club through this tough time you've a lot more chance of seeing a rainbow at the end than if you follow Leeds into obscurity.

2.) 13 May 2015 13:37:01
I see the chronic le is doing its usual pandering, saying we are looking to sign big players that arsenal, liverpool and the mighty Southampton will be the preferred destination. shame keegan never got to sign thierry henry, he might have been one over the hill player we would have loved. We got Sol Campbell instead.

3.) 13 May 2015 20:08:40
What you have now is terrible I know but what could follow may be a lot lot worse if you get relegated.
To me it would seem ideal if you stay up and don't renew season tickets or buy shirts and pay as you go to support the team you love but not the owner.
Too many protests just makes you unattractive to a potential buyer no matter how well intentioned who might well think do I want that sort of treatment if things don't go well straight away.
Subtle dignified voting with your wallets and feet would say much more plus be less scary to anyone who truly wanted to build a better Newcastle over a period of time that didn't last just 5 minutes or completely bankrupt them overnight.

4.) 13 May 2015 22:37:31
that is a very valid point gunner, I think the vast majority of fans agree. But sky only show the minority who scream and shout. I think you will see a big dip in attendances next season.

5.) 14 May 2015 21:00:00
Not buying tickets but peacefully and respectfully standing outside the ground during games listening to commentary on the radio supporting the team as closely as possible but not Ashley's bank balance by even 1p.
Point made brilliantly to the watching world and most importantly any potential buyer, come and get us were here and ready to go as soon as your in place.

Haidara could be an good left wing back if he could stay fit and could be a useful squad player as we won't get much cash for him and his wages can't be as much as the other dodgy left backs we have.

Would try and get some bargains from other top teams who have good players who can't get a game. Delph from Man City is a good example. McCarthy from Everton another. Good home grown players that need a new club.

We need to strengthen all over the park.

Are so few good wide players around now that I think we would be better off going to a back 3 or 5 with wing backs. Yedlin is an ideal right wing back so just need someone on the left and a good wingback costs a lot less than a good winger. Shelvey, Hayden and Ritchie could work as a central 3 which then still let's you have 2 up front.

Would love to see a player like Pastore sign for us but he would have to play off a lone front man.

Still think McCarthy from Everton could do well and he is a step up from Hayden or colback.
Are so many better players out there that would improve our team yet we still no nearer getting anyone.
