Pardew is attracting intrest from the middle east with qatari f.a who are looking to raise its profile and popularity after becoming embroilled in the bribery scandal (i.e world cup 2022). if those guys come knocking they pay well...................
we'll be looking for a new manager again in the next 8 12 months.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

I will give him a lift....Taxi

Agree0 Disagree0

Aaaaaahahahaha you are the stupidest mackem in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

If Pardew was to go Fat Ash will just bring in another puppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew may not have been my ideal choice when he joined, but so far he's been good in the market and we look stable

Agree0 Disagree0

He has not been good in the market...Graham Carr does all the foot work...he is the one finding all theses players. There's nowt hard walking around S.J.P and telling players we get 50,000 in here home games, play for us and we will give you 40,000 a week...the shear fact that this man is only a tool in Cashley's chubby little hands, is good enough reason for me to say they can have him...and while they are at it...take lambsarse as well...

ed any ideas of players coming into newcastle in the near future? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing right now.}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Rumour as it karl henry...to replace barton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Emile heskey seen in newcastle near the gates, might just be visiting newcastle or he may be signing. quality signing, powerful, would certaintly do better than Ranger

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha another mackem failing at a joke and tbh i recon u lot should have signed him instead of wickham would have saved you a lot of money for a similar quality player lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Wat a load of tripe

Twitter talk is that next friday Qatari Investment will announce the takeover of the club. They have a club in Spain(Malaga) France(PSG) and want to add an English club to there portfolio. I have no idea if this is true-Jimmy Toon.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

It would be good to happen but it wont

Agree0 Disagree0

What twitter accounts have this news?

Agree0 Disagree0

Qatari investment don't own Malaga, a different Sheik does. I personally hope this does not happen, I would rather be a club that hated their miserly owner and retained some sort of soul instead of some billionaire arab's 'experiment'. Plus Uefa rules mean that we could not enter in the same competition as another team owned by the same person. If PSG and us qualified for the europa next year, who would they chose, I'd rather not be in the situation. Maybe it is time to stop looking for the quick fix?

Agree0 Disagree0

Halelujah, I thought it was just me. I also hope our club isn't sold to Arabs. We have a soul, a culture and a heritage that belongs to us. Our support has built this club. It would be terrible to have our identity taken away like Man City or Chelsea's has been. Fat Mike is running the club like a football club should be run (like it or lump it). I don't like the guy but I actually think he's put the club on the right track with a sensible busines model and a build to develop a good team for the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope its true

Agree0 Disagree0

I was told some guy called toonmania. But someone also told me it was on arab tv that they had a shortlist of us, everton and spurs and the talk is that we have been picked and there is "HUGE" news next Friday.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance I bet Ashley would ask to much

Agree0 Disagree0

Under fiffa rules this is wrong as you are only aloud to be involved in one club at any given time if this was true the clubs would not be aloud to take part in any european competitions incase they face each other

Agree0 Disagree0

Too true mate, as nice as it would of been to be in man city's position , I honestly believe the Fat One is doing the right thing for wor club, just wished he would spend a wee bit more and tell us personally what his plans are for the next couple of seasons We can only wish.. The original ToonSoldier

Agree0 Disagree0

F*** that I'm all for being like City given otherwise I'll spend the rest of my life watching us get beat more often than we win.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye none of us like the way ashley goes about things and he's made some cut-throat decision before and got some right some wrong (hughton) but in all honesty its what our club needed we have to be self sufficient and yer mikes tight on the purse-strings but i think itll work in the LONG TERM im hoping its a signing as with all our others we didnt kno who until twas done so heres hopin but i wdnt be shocked if this massive announcement was that the stadium rights have been bought or somethin welcome to the citroen@stjamespark stadium (bleurgh)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope ITS true big toon fan Douglas M

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we're on the right track now, but I'd rather we could buy the worlds top players to play for us, even if they are mercenary (ie Manc). They just won the F.A. cup, it would be nice to say we have won somehting since I was born at least...

Apparently Huge news expected b4 the darlo game nxt fro (WelshToon)

Believable8 Unbelievable10

It hasnt been confirmed wether its huge news for newcastle or darlington.. and its probz a load of tosh anyways we wont be getting taken over END OF.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody said takeover people assuming the takeover wont happen i can see a signing happenin nxt week tho. (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

WelshToon, , if it is the same news I have been told about, then I think it will defo be a signing we can look forward to, he was meant to have signed as last season ended, but asked for a few extra weeks ( as I said a while ago) before committing , get charles n'zog in and I think the future is looking very good indeed Last note, I would like us to attempt to sign Gibson from man Utd, he would be a good buy plus it would upset the SMB's big time Ex Toon Player..

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle are hoping to link up with darlo in the hope of getting first option on some of the youth they are bringing through ashley thinks newcastle could learn something from darlo who have sold one of their young lads to fulham and look like selling one to stoke darlo on the up promotion next year

Agree0 Disagree0

For the person who said he would like us to sign Gibson, I'm with you, He was left out of Man Us tour of Asia, perhaps to close a deal with toon?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you hear about this 'big newsm mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibson is poor mate don't no why People are saying For us to get him are midfield is to good to put Gibson in it he is slow for a young lad. Just because he plays for man utd people think he's good but he's not. We need a good striker a new number 9 .

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guys i was misleaded the news i been told is non nufc related so i asked why he was mentionin it to me. but striker will be signing in the nxt 10 days gotta feeling could be El Arabi but also hearing Erdinc is not a dead deal and still think Nzog will be nufc player

Newcastle are said to be interested in Hajduk Split forward Ante Vukusic...20 year old and already made captain...

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Would love for this to be true, he looks like the next messi, we would face stiff competition though with chelsea and arsenal interseted aswell

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha thats prob right we get this every season lads no layout for players till good one, s sold barton, jose, best, ranger maybe tiote to chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

We need sturrige

At last, Pardew is opening talks with a proven Premiership striker, who won the Golden Boot and is now a free agent. However Blackpool are also showing interest, which could be just too much competition for us

After reading pages on this website from other clubs it seems that bids of around £10 million will be required to sign charles from wigan. While most fans think mike ashley is tighter than a kippers backside, i feel newcastle will make a bid in the £10 million region. Sunderland likewise, ellis short seems to have ambition.

Believable11 Unbelievable10

He might have ambition but not much money wow they've spent lots this window but were already on debt? Money you got from bent mostly went to tottenham

Congratulations Sunderland can't even fill the stadium to full cap how will they afford wages ? More dept I see

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know a lot do ye, short has an estimated fortune of 1 billion plus the same as mike ashley before he took over at newcastle due to the current economic climate ashley has dropped to 750 million as his fortune is tied up in deals where as short is retired but still kept his title as president of loan star loans the biggets loan company in the world so his money is in the bank. As sir alan sugar said recently ye can have ye fortune wrapped up in business deals and companies but if we have a big crash like we did before its only worth the paper ye can wipe ye arse with. people like sugar and short as sugar said i can go to the bank tomorrow and withdraw 100 million pounds something people like short can do but ashley cant

Agree0 Disagree0

You dont half talk some crap....

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle don't have 10m, you only got about 7m left of that 35m and thats got to be used on wages and agents fee's aswell. Jealous geordie's pathetic

Agree0 Disagree0

Jealous..? are you mad..? your on a road to nowhere...short will NOT continue to bankroll 9-10 players a season, and in two years your average age of player will be up in the late 20's early thirty's....we are building a young squad of present and future internationals...your employing Man Utds second string...get a life...jealous...hahahahahaha

Agree0 Disagree0

The more you rant, the more jealous you sound.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 10:35:29
are we gonna buy any more players..time will tell ...need a speedy little forward to play off demba ba ..any thoughts ? {Ed014's Note - Jermain Defoe? Robbie Keane?}

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Put me in a zimmer frame and i'd be faster than keane

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 09:30:38
ashley doesn't care he hasnt even spent 10 mill trying to keep the money to him self need a striker if ashley dont want to spend big money get peter odemwingie or dj Campbell

Believable11 Unbelievable5

09 Jul 2011 09:24:51
I must say, so far I ma happy with the signings we have made in terms of wheeling and dealing for raw talent. However it is time Ashley brought the big guns out. He has just bought USC and Cruise for £7 million and invested a further £20 million. (I hope that ain't the Andy Carroll cash)

Sunderland have shown there intent and it's time that we challenge them in the transfer market. We have already missed out on a couple of players that were good last season like Garra Dembele (36 goals for Levski Sofia now signed for Freiburg) and Pablo Piatti (raw talent with great tekkers Almeria to Valencia)

I just hope we don't sign the likes of Carlton Cole, Cameron Jerome, Shane Long etc. We need someone who is going to be scoring goals regularly with the quality midfield we have. I would be happy with Sow, Defoe, Osvaldo, Jelavic, Gomez.

Geo

Believable21 Unbelievable3

I feel your spot on their Geo. Those 2 players you highlighted wouldve fit the Ashley mould of young profit based players. I would love one of the mentioned players, but I feel we will be left waiting. I beleive that is the Puppets spending finished for now, and our back up to Ba will be our new homegrown no. 9....Shola....

Agree0 Disagree0

Deluded I'm glad I can call myself a realistic Mag.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sow, nope
Defoe, nope
osbaldo

Agree0 Disagree0

Well let's hear your "realistic" thoughts then? What you think we should re-sign Kuqi and Sol Campbell and hire Usain Bolt to train them?

Only a major pessimist or a mackem would say it is deluded for us to get the likes of Defoe, Sow.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle go foe quality, not quantity like sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

Need cash to do that ...unless we go back to the days of johnnie Hall and fat ffreddie shepherd who createrd the debts ther club have been struggling with for years. Heres a great idea lets bring our own kids through rather than bring through a bunch of French misfits ?

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no reason for the club to be in debt, if we hadn't sold Carroll in January would we be 35m in debt just now? No, so surely there's at least 25m available for us to spend without taking the club into debt as you say?

I do agree with you on the young home-grown front. When you look at Barca's La Masia, it is about time a prem league team embraced that structure and I would love the Toon to be that team.

Erdinc has confirmed that he's not joining Newcastle. It was obvious he wasn't that keen after all this time.

So...who do you think is next on the list? reports are consistent in saying its a European based striker (not in England).

Just a thought but to my mind it doesn't mean that the next one on the list is necessarily worse than the ones gone so far (Gameiro, Erdinc) - might just be seen as less economically sound i.e. more expensive and on higher wages.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Offer for Gameiro was £10 million, Erdinc £7 million next striker offer will be around the 3-4 million mark no doubts..... and lets be honest proven goal scorers cost far far more than that......

has everyone forgot about steven ireland?
great player no?

Believable5 Unbelievable16

Er no Not a great player

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you?? His Agent?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a mess and a clown of a man and not that great of a player

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't afford another player that spends more time in the treatment room than he does on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

You answered your own question..great player NO?

Agree0 Disagree0

Had good potential once upon a time, but injury prone. There are better players out there for the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ireland is a w**ker with a almighty chip on his shoulder. on top of that hes injury prone and prob realy going back to villa because we wouldb't match his wages...good ridance

Berbatov wants to be newcastle number 9. This has been his dream ever since he was a kid, Mike let us get him you tight f**k

Believable15 Unbelievable10

Let me guess kanu lol lol lol haha knowing us it prob is

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov dreamed of playing for Newcastle?? Are you mental?

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously someone is not informed about their Football players, Berbatov has been a Newcastle fan since he was a kid, This is common Knowledge. Anyways his wages are too high for a lazy player. Its time people realised throwing money on 4 and 5th choice names on our target list is just a waste of money, If we cannot get the players we need then wait until they become available. We are not Man City.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lazy player?? baring in mind he was premier league top goal scorer last season and spent half his time on the bench? okay m8

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not newcastle fan, at all. never has been. he even said it himself in an interview with alan shearer, who he idolised as a kid. said he'd have supported whatever team shearer played for. he will not sign for us. and not just because he isn't a fan, you all know ashley's business model. berbatov is not a sound enough investment. i'd love him to be a newcastle player, but anyone with any sense knows he won't be

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatove LMFAO havdenmt got a hope in hell of getting a player like him...besides....cant afford the wage bill

Charles n zogbia.. I have it on very good source that he wants to return to nufc. There is a difference in what we want to pay and what Wigan want. Although we bid 10m for him in Jan this was rejected and this leaves the deal in a difficult position, this time next year he will be on a bowman hence we are only offering 5m, Wigan want 10m, my source informs me villa are prepared to pay 10 as they have lost Ashley young. Fingers crossed fat mike pays what Wigan want as I would love Charlie back

As I said in my other post just now, been taking it all in today, been a strange day regarding the rumour mill for the toon, nothing with real substance, just hear say, so rather than reply to any particular post wanted to just put it all in one and give my take on the names been thrown about, so here goes...

Lewis Mcgugan... Apparant 1.5 million bid... about 4.5 shy of what would be required I think... to be honest i d say its more likely we tried to do a Routledge plus cash bid and Forest wernt having it so that ended that... we wont pay 6 million for a lad to sit on the bench

Khouma Babacar... Not sure if theres any truth to it, young lad from Fiorentina, rated as a prospect for the future, broke into the Fiorentina side at 17-18 which suggests he does have potential... mostly came off the bench though and his goal and assist ratio is very poor for someone who is rated... admittedly havnt seen enough of him to judge properly but nevertheless if he has potential and is rated for the future, Fiorentina wouldnt let him go cheap, and he wont be playing first team football at the Toon next season, so falls into the McGugan category again I think... we wouldnt pay the money theyd be looking for for a lad to sit on the bench... which makes me think there isnt any truth to it

Wilfred Zaha.... Could be some slight truth to this one given Pardew is looking at maybe bringing in a couple of young talents from the lower leagues... 3 million is whats been said, dont know about that... know a little bit about him, very raw but is still only 17-18, decent skill, a lot of confidence, but a bit greedy, head down type, but again, hes very young... cant realistically see this one being true, dont see why we would take the chance on him yet, especially for 3 million

Banguras... There is truth to this to an extent... we have been watching Ibrahim for a lot of last season, he does look like a good young player, but in an average league so it would be a slight gamble, but think we could get him cheap so may be worth a punt, also think he would be willing to be 2nd string for a season or so to develop so makes me think there might be a chance... as for Mohammed, dont think we ve been too interested in him, but obviously have got a chance to watch him while watching the other... has been dubbed by some the new Drogba, which is more on stature and strength, and slight looks than on ability I think, but again, is very young, could be got on the cheap as Birmingham and Lokomotiv Moscow have apparently made 2million bids... would have more faith in us going after Ibrahim to be honest, and from what i ve seen he has more potential, better all round game

In more common transfer news and links...

Shane Long... Is definite interest and an offer, and I do rate him, has turned into a very good all round player, but Reading are trying to price him out of a move I think... only way I can see this one happening is a Leon Best plus cash deal... looking at 6 or 7 million plus Best, might be worth it in my opinon, hes a better player than Erdinc I think without question

Charles nZogbia... Again interest is or was there, and he seems to like the club, but dont think we are willing to pay what Wigan want, would maybe be able to negotiate it down a bit and strike a deal if it wasnt for Villa being interested... think they are under serious pressure to replace Ashley Young quickly or risk losing Downing too, which makes me think they will pay over the odds and give him a good deal to secure him as soon as possible... other rumour is Sunderland are interested, dont know exactly how much truth there is to it or whether theres a solid offer being readied, but if he chose the mackems with what hes said about the Toon I would be very very surprised

Mevlut Erdinc... We re like the sleazy bloke that keeps getting rejected by the pretty girl on this one... definite interest and approach with constant knock backs, yet we still come back for more... from what I have seen he isnt even worth the effort or money being touted but maybe im wrong... either way he has said he wants to fight for his place at PSG, and they want 10 million for him, with 8 goals last season quite simply too much of a gamble I think

I will leave it that for now anyway, any more you can think of please do send them on, or any feedback on the ones I have mentioned, cheers

Believable15 Unbelievable1

N'zogbia looks like he is choosing to use his talents at Sunderland, I know SAFC have agreed his £75k wk wage, which in all honesty I can't see Mr Ashley being willing to pay, also I know Charles Nzogbia likes the North East but have you forgot how he was treated when he played for you guys last time? Nsomnia ring any bells? So it's been mentioned to me that its not something he has forgotten. He was bought by Bruce from you guys and made it public knowledge at our last game against Wigan, when at the end he came over and passed his shirt, boots, and arm bands to Sunderland supporters spending 5 mins doing so, while he was shaking hands with the fans a round of sign him up Brucey went around the ground. So take all that into consideration and im told he will be a Sunderland player by next tue/wed at the latest. I'm a proud Sunderland supporter who goes with my Father and son, we are all season ticket holders, I also have a lot of Newcastle fans who I have worked with or employed and never had any trouble, and we all like some banter, just as long as its constructive, defeo has also been up for a medical and that one may just be released at the same time, fingers crossed.

Anyway and as a passionate NORTH EAST SUPPORTER I want Newcastle to do well (just as long as it behind us in the tables, the carry on with MA will be Bourne out soon, as you need a few big name but big names with talent, you were once a huge club, but those days are gone, it's going to take hard work by Team and management and you the geordie faithfull to get behind them all. HONESTLY the last thing a real Sunderland FOOTBALL person wants is that we both remain in prem. So to that extent I pass on some info I heard, 3-4 more signings in way to Nufc and a couple seem tasty. As for the constant putting down of who we have bought then let the football sort that argument out. Wish you guys success in the rest of the window and look forward to some good derbies ahead, especially as we have a score to settle, beaten up by a 5-1 derby win, well wounds are clean and boys ready to battle it out once again. Keep the Faith guys, banter is fine but abusive stuff don't belong here by Newcastle or Sunderland. Lastly zog looks like he is signing and Defoe in the following days. Stranger things have happened, and you guys should be pushing for Shane Long think the kid would fit in great. Cheers Steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Zaha is raw yes but only 18, and with all the foreign players we have been adding to the squad think we need some english players. heard John Flanaghan could be involved if Jose goes liverpool. want a few more british lads if im honest trtoon

Agree0 Disagree0

I would agree about signing British lads, I think Bruce worked that out last season, unfortunately some foreign players take for example trinadad are by nature laid back and don't seem to share the same enthusiasm, now that's not all of them, but I do think both teams need to get back to signing home grown talent, guys who know what a derby means and are not as hot headed as some of our foreign brethren. You need to find a good mix of all characters, but I have seen Bruce bring in alot of British players this window so maybe he thinks the same. I'm sure Newcastle will be fine, just get this feeling that your best stars will be raided in last weeks of window and pardew needs to strengthen squad for that scenario alone

Agree0 Disagree0

Another good rite up krtoon do you work in the press not taking the mick as i have praised ye on some other post ye put up from that smb

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers mate.. ha no dont work in the press, would be nice though... just have an interest in writing, even bigger interest in football, looking to design and launch a newcastle site in the next few months and just trying to get known and get some feedback from the toon fans, hopefully get to do a few write ups for football blogs and sites in the future as well as my own stuff... cheers for the support anyway mate, much appreciated
