Rumours on sky and twitter saying Ashley is looking to buy a 10% stake in Rangers!! Maybe he should use that money to strengthen our squad instead of investing in sunday league football.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Don't worry about it. It is all to do with getting the exclusive rights to sell their manky strips. Their deal with JJB has ran out...........

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope so so he can be struck off
He should be concentrating on NUFC and if he won't spend 20/25m after 120m (including AC) last season and not far off this season we don't deserve to be a top club which will become apparent in the weeks to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same rumour on sly but tbh i,m not worried every buisness ashley has and he has a few are all run seperatly so dont worry we have money just can not get them for the price we want....k

Agree1 Disagree0

Shrewd move. 10 percent stake to have exclusive rights to sell rangers shirts. They have fans everywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a stupid comment. So Ashley investing a couple of million into Rangers will mean that he isn't strengthening NUFC. How much do you think he has invested into Newcastle, without making any money. The Rangers deal is all to do with merchandise, and selling shirts in sports direct.
I presume the only way some people will be happy is if Ashley stops his business interests, sells everything he owns, and invests every last penny into buying players and paying them the wages they want. Great strategy, that will definately work long term.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop twisting the job he,s doing at nufc is working thats all i,m bothered about not rangers......k

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest who are we to tell HIM how to spend HIS money, we as a club are financially sound now and we will stay that way by not paying too much money for players I for one say well done Mike this is the way to run a football club imagine being a pompey fan right now that could of easiley happened to us

Agree0 Disagree0

If he does buy a stake will not be a bad place for some of our young talent to gain experience

Swansea's Manager Michael Laudrup has said he is intrested in Gabriel Obertan. Please have him.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

I think obertan will come good !! a few more goals like that against hpool, still young and french players will help him on a bit,

Agree0 Disagree0

What a stupid suggestion.
That would make us needing ANOTHER player in this window. It may have escaped your notice that we haven't even brought one in yet. (And don't say Bigirama, Good and Amalfitano please).

Agree0 Disagree0

He is 24 now isn't he? Slowly running out of time for his "potential" to shine through. I would put him behind Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Jonas, Amalifanto, Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi in my list of wingers I would rather see on the pitch than Obertan. But I hope he proves me wrong and becomes a legend for the toon, I just seriously doubt it will ever happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Gabs will come good this year, and would be disappointed to loose him so soon..

Agree0 Disagree0

Gabby will become good this season especially with the europa league games fool we need to bring players in and not let players go, i think personally obertan will become a good useful player and he is one fast player
