{Ed042's Note - Obertan deal looks all but done... played no part in Scholes testimonial tonight}

Believable24 Unbelievable3

I hear its a initial loan Then 3 million fee

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - Good deal if thats the case, if he doesnt perform dont have to buy}

Agree0 Disagree0

Any idea as to the source for this Ed?

{Ed042's Note - Grapevine not media ha means there actually could be some truth to it.. was whispers all day about it, watched the testimonial to see if he was involved and wasnt.. could be 2+2=5 but more than likely will be a toon player v.soon}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he play in scholes testimonial... was never a regular player

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard it on the gossip columns Could be true cos true to NUFC form they staying quiet

Agree0 Disagree0

Any striker leads ED? Hoping we get someone soon man

{Ed042's Note - No leads of substance on a striker yet mate sorry, for the post about Obertan not being a regular, reason he would have played if he wasnt going is because he has played a part in every pre season friendly and they used around 20 players in the match tonight, he wasnt even on the bench}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold on a minute.NUFC signing Obertan?
I thought Man Utd do not let good players go Or that is what you knowledgeable mob spouted quite vociforoucely across on the Sunderland page.
Oh sorry SILLY ME Because it is NUFC it iis a totally different matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mail say he's agreed a five year deal with club fee is 3 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not can't even control a ball why would Ferguson sell him for the same price they paid for him if he's anygood.

{Ed042's Note - Because they just spent 20 odd mil on Young, and have Nani, Valencia and Park.. its more so Obertan looking for first team football not SAF looking to get rid}

Agree0 Disagree0

Does that mean Tiote away as will not play in game today?

Agree0 Disagree0

So another parcel of s**te we are gonna buy oberton man utd mug Ashley f*** off

Agree0 Disagree0

So we have bought another midfielder...What about our striker crisis? Ed do you think this is United left over is all we will get?

{Ed042's Note - No it wont be the last.. and would hardly go as far as to call it a crisis, we are looking to play one up front this season, we need another good striker signing yes but crisis is a bit much.. wouldnt agree with completely writing off a 22 year old either.. didnt hit it off at Utd fair enough, but judging from what certain people have told me its not the ability hes lacking its the confidence, may be a run of games would help the lad.. he fits the mould of what were looking for, young, french ha, versatile player.. put it this way, we got rid of Routledge for £2m and supposedly getting Obertan for £3m.. cant complain IMO, give the lad a chance}

Agree0 Disagree0

I put my fate in your words then Ed. May our team prove this season that no matter the internal fights and the problems in the club, in the end it is all about getting one more ball in the net then the opponents and that it is just a game

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard that the mackems next signing is Captain Mainwaring from Dads Army

Agree0 Disagree0

Set to sign Gabriel Obertan on a 5 year deal from Man U from what i hear.

Believable29 Unbelievable8

Not sure about 5 years maybe a loan deal but there is talk that hes very close to signing

{Ed042's Note - Looks very likely}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sigh... I doubt this will bring the hopes up amongst most fans, seems like a panic buy to me

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's a talented lad, there's no shame in not being able to break in manutd's side

Agree0 Disagree0

Defs got potential and whod u rather hav, routledge or obertan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are these the same fans who said Man U rejects ect. now good deal for a player who hasn't been near a first team?

Agree0 Disagree0

scott brown to newcastle and fraser forster to celtic in straight swap deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable29

Aye, only scott brown's worth at least three-fold what fraser is.

Agree0 Disagree0

...and he's on the verge of signing a new deal with Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep him, he runs around like a headless chicken lifting people with , just what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic's best CM for a keeper who was pretty much average there. He wasn't even in the top 5 SPL keepers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I swear we have said we would never get rid of Forster.

Agree0 Disagree0

So y did yous try to resign him

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2011 18:31:29
ive heard that we might be signing

long 8-10mill
sturridge loan or maybe sturridge and 5-10mill for tiote
rob green 3mill or 1.5mill and fraser forster
albrighton season long loan from aston villa
and maybe a defender

Believable2 Unbelievable35

Do you even have any knowledge of football?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes and sorry about the albrighton one i made a mistake

Agree0 Disagree0

Should've written that in caps, would have ment its true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Change your meds

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow your a dumb@ss

Agree0 Disagree0

None of them are french we cannit be interested

just heard that john carew is a possible target free agent and bit of a power forward looking for cover as nile ranger is on his way out by start of season

Believable10 Unbelievable29

Yea heard the same wouldnt mind having him at the club did well for lyon still think lovenkrands will be the prefered option to partner shola or sammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Would not want him and isnt he in talks with a chmpship side

Agree0 Disagree0

He's got the required long injury record and there is no fee. Could the fat jockstrap salesman attempt to get his glove puppet to justify this as a "blue chip" European international striker? I suspect he could.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather have seaton carew,than john carew,gas masks provided off course lol

Agree0 Disagree0

WHO IS THE GUY WEARING NO 49 ON NUFC.CO.UK ITALIAN PIC SPECIAL??

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no picture with some one wearing 49on nufc.co.uk italian pics

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah think its a youth team player think it lualua

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the third pic in

{Ed042's Note - Its not Lua Lua....}

My mate is a porter at the Gosforth Hotel, Thomas Hitzelsperger has just checked in with his agent He is available on a free as out of contract with West Ham.

Believable19 Unbelievable24

Hope so. good player & proven in the Prem

Agree0 Disagree0

What, the pub on the High Street?

Agree0 Disagree0

How many games did he manage last season...was proved 6 years ago...dunno now... plus aint we got enough in the mid

Agree0 Disagree0

The so called hammer? tell that to peter sutcliffe

Agree0 Disagree0

Any new or potential signings are put up in jesmond dene house. Therefore you and your porter friend or clearly talking poop

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this next door to Seaham Hall.

Agree0 Disagree0

Knowing Ashley, i reckon the new signings are staying at a whitley bay b+b

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, Premier Inn by the airport.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're both wrong. theres nee new signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Hotel, no B+B, if Ashley has his way, he would be staying in a caravan, tent, treehouse or a cave.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit luxury still, he'd be sleeping whilst he rode back and forwards on the Metro with the daysaver that he bought himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's too old

Agree0 Disagree0

Hw signed in Jan for West Ham, so dont give it how many games did he manage last season. Him and Ba signing in Jan nearly kept a terrible team up.
Come back when you know anything about other teams than your own, you tit

Agree0 Disagree0

I work in a hotel have checked in neild ruddock and phil taylor amonst other, toon aren't signing ruddock and taylor ain't gna play in my pub team

Agree0 Disagree0

He actually signed for them at the start of last season. but didnt play til jan cus ov injury. wud love him to sign. but very much doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reading have had no bids for Shane Long confirmed by Reading boss. For all those saying we had a possible cash+player bid rejected

Believable19 Unbelievable4

Ed any news on the striker front?
Ridiculous how long we are taking to get another striker in. The season begins in just over a week ffs.

Believable14 Unbelievable1

{Ed042's Note - Lost out on 3 main targets to be fair, did take way too much time in trying to get Erdinc though.. Nothing definitive as yet mate, 3 or 4 names being banded about.. may not be a striker but I would be very surprised if a signing wasnt made either today or tomorrow to appease the fans prior to the Fiorentina match}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are the 3 or 4 names you've heard?
Ive heard Erding(still?), Long, Crouch(Hope not), Carlton Cole(Hope not) and Jerome(Hope not).

{Ed042's Note - Sturridge loan, Jerome, nGog, and Crouch}

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt anything will happen today like Ed think we would of heard

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed.
Im sorry but if those are are actually our targets that is an appalling list and obviously no effort has been put into generating a list of potential strikers.

Sturridge on loan-would be great but is the least likely to happen.

Jerome-Would be a terrible signing, works hard but is just not good enough and doesnt score enough goals.

N'gog-Although hasnt been given a proper chance and gets some over the top criticism he's seems pretty average to me, not been overly impressed with him. Suppose he's still fairly young though and may improve.

Crouch-Again would be a terrible signing. Not the type of striker we need at all, he's old and on the decline, would cost a lot in transfer fee's and wages and hasnt got a great scoring record in recent years.

As i said if this is who we've identified as are targets, excluding Sturridge its a very poor effort.

What happened to our scouting trips in Europe?

{Ed042's Note - You asked who were the names been thrown about, thats them.. noticed how none of our signings except Ba has been reported in English media? wouldnt be too disheartened just yet.. personally think if we got Sturridge on loan, as unlikely as it is, or one European talent, along with nGog or Jerome, thats not bad, only plan to play one up front this season when HBA is fit anyway}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasnt having a go at you there btw Ed, its just frustrating that they are the names being thrown about when we could and should get better.
Yeah i was thinking the same about not a lot of our signings recently have been mentioned in the English media, most of them either come from reports abroad or just come out of nowhere.
Id be very happy with Sturridge on loan, but i just dont think it'll happen.
Hopefullly we are still scouting other leagues as i think there is better value for money in other leagues.
Cheers again Ed.

{Ed042's Note - Haha I know you wernt lad, frustrating for me too believe me, been translating foreign papers on and off today trying to suss out some info, English tabloids are just full of crap or Joey stories.. yeah think if Sturridge goes on loan could well go back to Bolton tbh, actually wouldnt mind seeing Obertan and nGog, both young, something to prove after not getting a proper chance at big club, both french ha so will integrate with other frenchies quickly}

newcastle to put a double swoop in for crouch and defoe £15m, then turn to gary cahill for 10m, SWP on loan and 2 other loan signings

Believable4 Unbelievable53

On yer play station again

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont be daft

Agree0 Disagree0

And ashley is going to have a heart attack funding any of those moves. please come off the drugs lad

Agree0 Disagree0

And then you woke up from your dream because the nice Nurse had to give you your calming medication. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance mate, only thing likely in that is crouch as no one else wants him, defoe wont leave london and cahill is wanted by other clubs like arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Would really hate crouch coming

Agree0 Disagree0

BANG out of order posting stuff like this.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish

Agree0 Disagree0

Take your medication

Agree0 Disagree0

Defoe has already stated he wont come North. Cahill... aye.. whatever
Dont want SWP or Crouch. Pardew has already stated he wants a fast striker to play off Ba or Ameobi. Its looking like it will be Ben Arfa at this rate.. When he's fit.
Hope we dont get Obertan either We cud go for Long, but i still dont seeany of our strikers causing any bother. Apart from Sunderland cause they're s**te

Agree0 Disagree0

B a l l s

Agree0 Disagree0

Fat mike wouldnt part with his own s**te if it was possible,panic deals off washed out players near the end of the window,ambition is a swear word,plod plod plod...

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep talking crap you horrilbe little smb's,

hey ED, why do you print what these saddos are putting on? surely you can tell the difference between toon fans and mackems?

{Ed042's Note - Being a mackem isnt a good enough reason to not post something mate, im sure theres plenty that wish it was ha}

Agree0 Disagree0

Defoe has not ruled out a move North even if he has just got planning permission for his new house (it will still be there in 5 years or so) Crouch, maybe. SWP no way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see defoe in black n white shirt but he will not leave big smoke

Agree0 Disagree0

Who the hell would want to move to newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

ALLthe good players that dont join the scum down the road in Blunderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2011 11:28:21
Apparently were after keirisson from Barcelona 3million
Joined Barcelona for 9 million in 2009 still yet to play
Was out on loan last season to samba scored 4 gls in thirteen games
You heard anything Ed

Believable11 Unbelievable19

{Ed042's Note - Caught Offside rumour, generally very unreliable mate, but will do a bit of checking around and get back later today on this post with an update}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Barca take a £6m loss for a player they bought two years ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

Becasue he's not been able to make the grade at Barca.
same reason why Newcastle bought bouumsong for £8m and got rid for around £3m.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - Nobody else running the story on Kerrison in England or Spain.. suggests CO full of it as per usual}

Agree0 Disagree0

barnetta wants to come to newcastle. he is up for sale at batern leverkusen for 4m fee agreed but the problem is its his agent. barnetta wants to move for first team football.

Believable13 Unbelievable17

Really hope that we can sign Barnetta. I reckon he'd b a quality player 4 us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually the problem now is he is injured. And it turns out that guy yesterday wasn't even his agent lol. His real agent says we acted well when we made our move.

I don't really see why a muscle injury should hamper him moving though...

Agree0 Disagree0

Not coming false rumour, got an injury now which will scupper any move made for him. another one bites the dust

Agree0 Disagree0

We should still sign him, he's only out for 3 weeks We need bodies in

{Ed042's Note - I think the concern on Newcastles part is, unlike the supposed injury prone players we have bought, that this is a recurring injury that Barnetta suffers, not a one off serious one or result of a bad challenge.. still a possibility we could sign him, just being careful about it}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah, I didn't realise it was recurring.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that a bit like marveaux injury

{Ed042's Note - Marveaux slightly different case, the bad pitch in the US affected a number of players, him included, but Barnettas is apparently a long running thing, misses games every season over it}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh that was what put us off a move in January I think. However, when he's fit, he can be a great player

{Ed042's Note - Has put us off every year since 2007, thats how long the nufc interest in Barnetta actually goes back}

Agree0 Disagree0

Injury drama's in same context as Dyers

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet we still sign Ba who's knee could snap at any moment. The world of NUFC makes no sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote,enrique,barton,all gone before end of window
Looking at loan options as unrest is pushing up demands Billy sharp again being hinted at by itk not a great time is it

Believable9 Unbelievable32

Not a great time for you to be posting on here by the sounds of it. Go back to bed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah well, if they do go we'll just have to batter you lot without them. Shouldn't be too hard, as your team is worse than last season as well. The loan players that did a good job are gone to be replaced by old or average players. SMB
Col

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously why did you waste your time, posting this comment?? we all no tiote is staying, he has said he is happy at necastle and will be there next season, so rule him out if being sold. barton we all no is going o a free, but pardew would like to keep him and joey himself wants to stay. for joes, no one knows what is going to happen with him, and its certainaly true, THAT YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE BILLY SHARP GIVE US REAL TOON FANS A BREAK1

Agree0 Disagree0

Enrique and Barton will be gone and you know there are people interested in Colo and Jonas, Tiote may stay but you won't get in good enough replacements

Agree0 Disagree0

Mackam please mate get a life cos these fake rumours are just sad

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote not coming back lads ye ed said the other day he was due back in the toon any day now it could be 3 weeks his gone and where is marveaux think his turned into invisible man

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish you would turn into the invisible man and f*** off. None of your posts ever make any sense you SMB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Will you get a grip with your billy sharp, go out and play with traffic will ya

Agree0 Disagree0

Still not facing reality. More players are about to leave and no replacements in sight.
Nobody wants to go to Newcastle and everyone is slagging them off or wanting to leave.
Dont worry you may bounce straight back up after being relegated.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2011 02:49:50
AVBoas was willing to let sturridge join on loan and he was willing to come. The farce post leeds friendly has led to both manager and player backing out of the deal.

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Why would an arguement between a player and the owner/cheif exec affect a loan deal? If this was the case (which it isn't) then AV Boasw would not want Modric to arrive a stamford Bridge as he is a trouble maker. At least make it believable.
Col

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but Sturridge will fight for his place this year, he won't be going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0
