Mark Douglas is saying there will be some positive news on the transfer front in Tomorrows Journal about Newcastle.

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Yup heskey to sign on the dotted line

Agree0 Disagree0

W.bridge is prime suspect for jose replacement.Long waiting for our bid before entertaining leiceter (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll be waiting a LONG time.....tumbleweed rolls by

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Tiote, he's coming back from Ghana tomorrow so he'll be back in time to train for the Fiorentina game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone said that and he then said it's transfer related.

Agree0 Disagree0

What, that nufc are finally going to give Leeds Mr Smith for nowt? ;)
joking guys jokiiiiiing

Agree0 Disagree0

Just been thinking to myself it seems a bit funny with tiote so wat has been officially wrong with his visa because not much has been broadcast and i thought he was stuck in the u.s now find myself wondering if tiote and barton have fallen

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah they fell out so badly Tiote went all the way to Ghana.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - Haha yeah couldnt see Tiote running from the likes of Barton tbh.. That lad looks like he would seriously do you damage if you crossed him}

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote once killed a rhino with his bare hands..thats a FACT......:P

Agree0 Disagree0

Bridge wouldnt be good news... my guess we have decided to replace joey with a badger black nd white and bloody tenacious

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah and didn't even touch it lol.

cameron jerome, barnettea and wayne bridge the players AP looking to bring in before start of the season " loans and permanant deal fo barnetta the likely deals AP said only wanted 2 more players but now JB looks like he gone he stepped up his chase for the swiss midfielder Jerome deal looks on now fulham have pulled out

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Just heard from a guy i used to work with and now works for the journal that the jerome deal is true and he interested in coming to the toon

Agree0 Disagree0

Bull Crap Cameron Jerome is Rubbish Id belive it if you said Shane Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Cameron Jerome please...shane long, barnetta and warnock would be my shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shane long is also not prem quality, we need someone like sturridge if we are going to get anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

His stats say different, better than andy carrolls in the championship at a worse club, not saying hes better than andy but hes definitely premiership quality and is never injured

Agree0 Disagree0

... and is never injured... until he joins newcastle

Newcastle will increase their interest in midfielder Ziani, due to Barton being transfer listed, and the fact that he is available on a free, despite him not being under the age of 24. Chances are we won't go for Barnetta, unless Ashley suddenly has a change of heart about spending money. We are no longer interested in Erding, with more interest probably being placed on Shane Long. I think we should try and sign Warnock from Villa, as even though he is older, he is experienced and will do a good job for a few seasons until we get a decent long term replacement for Enrique, or until Shane Ferguson develops some more.

Believable5 Unbelievable13

Cant see it happening, him and HBA hate each other, yet another person who hates HBA

Agree0 Disagree0

Ziani wont sign him and ben arfa have previous, and despise each other

Agree0 Disagree0

Big names I see

Agree0 Disagree0

Ziani has already signed for a team in the middle east

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 16:15:28
Ed Alan Brazil was saying he's heard from his sources that we are set to bring in a striker, a midfielder and a defender. He seemed pretty confident.
Any names you've heard that are targets for each postion?
Rondon, Barnetta, M'Bengue?

Believable14 Unbelievable11

Dont see it happening to be honest. I think we will sign a left back when enrique goes and that will be it. Shock Horror im an ashley fan and think if right move is there he will do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - Barnetta the only half realistic one of the three I would imagine, mBengue seems happy enough at Toulouse for now, already rejected a 6m bid.. Rondon getting first team football at Malaga who have all that Qatari money now so I would say hes sticking around.. and Barnetta, been linked since 07 on and off so who knows on that one.. Very hard to know what the targets are with all the controversy as of late dominating the papers but if there was any truth what Brazil said I would stab an educated guess at it as follows.. the defender could be either Mangala, Hubnik or Bassong... midfielder, linked with Brown but would say most likely targets could be Ziani on free or Canales on loan, at a stretch if we were to spend I would say Boudebouz or Badelj.. forward I would say Shane Long is the obvious choice, other targets may be Tetah Bangura and possibly Petric, very small chance of Sturridge on loan still but doubtful... but as I said pure speculation on my part, very hard to know this week}

Agree0 Disagree0

Canales would be a pretty good deal actually.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen man learn your lesson
We might get a 17 year old from france or willie mc sporran from Glasgow labour club but we won't spend a penny so forget all about anybody that anyone has heard of

Agree0 Disagree0

Let it go son, go have a whinge down the boozer and if youre right in three weeks time then come back and say I told you so all you want, until then be quiet, its getting old

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for the reply Ed.
Mangala or Hubnik possibly, I cant see us re-signing Bassong as it would probably cause quite a bit of unrest in the team after he left when we got relegated, plus i think he's a bit overrated, people think he's class because he was one of the only players who was "decent" the season we got relegated, most other were cr*p.
Ziani has already signed for some random team, canales is set to join valencia on loan i think, however Barnetta and Boudebouz could be possabilities.
Long maybe but i think he's probably too expensive for ashley, Bangura could be an option, Petric very unlikely due to age i would say, Would love Sturridge but again probably unlikely. Your also probably right about Rondon being unlikely if he's getting game time at Malaga.
My guesses:
Striker-Long, Crouch(hope not), Rondon.
Midfielder-Barnetta, Boudebouz, scott Brown.
Defender-M'Bengue, Wayne Bridge on loan(hope not).

Agree0 Disagree0

Im gona repeat wot i said 2 weeks ago wen window opened " when are yous gonna wake up and smell the roses " ashley is takin yous for a ride and yous are that thick yous deserve it

Agree0 Disagree0

Your the thick one here mate, then again, Sunderland don't have decent schools.

Agree0 Disagree0

'yous' isn't a word re***d and yet you use it three times in one sentence. Who's thick again?

can any one shed any light on whats going on with tiote.has he sorted the visa prob out ?...ED any thing going on with players coming in to the club or you as much in the dark as all of us.m8....geordie tom

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed042's Note - As I said to the previous lad Tom mate, still hard to know since Joey wont shut up for two seconds, and now with Enriques impending departure.. all I can do is speculate based on what Alan Brazil said about a DF, M and FW coming in.. so at a guess I would say the targets could be as follows.. defender could be Mangala, Hubnik or Bassong... midfielder, linked with Brown but would say most likely targets could be Ziani on free or Canales on loan, at a stretch if we were to spend I would say Boudebouz or Badelj but doubtful.. forward I would say Shane Long is the obvious choice, other targets may be Tetah Bangura and possibly Petric, very small chance of Sturridge on loan still but doubtful... but as I said pure speculation on my part, very hard to know this week mate sorry}

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - As far as Tiotes situation goes, he is due back this week sometime, prior to the Fiorentina game is the only info out there.. a lot of the conspiracy theorists out there say there is more to it, dont buy it myself but whatever the case if he isnt back by the weekend then something more serious is up regarding his visa}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed m8 just the silence is killing me.but like we said theres 3 weeks left to get people in cheers again... geordie tom

{Ed042's Note - no worries mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

I Don't believe we would sell or he would want to leave. hes on a five year deal. no?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - Would imagine so mate.. reason hes on a five year deal is more so because the club want to make a massive profit on him in 3 years max and didnt want to be put in the same situation as they are with Enrique}

Agree0 Disagree0

pardew close to quiting nufc

Believable24 Unbelievable19

No he's not, don't be silly. He is 6 months into a 5 year contract worth lots of pennies. He'll stay, we'll do well and all you silly people upset at Barton/Nolan/Enrique moving will be feeling very silly indded. Either that or we will get loads of injuries, have to play loads of kids, get loads of defeats, AP gets sacked and gets loads of money as a severance.

Agree0 Disagree0

One can only hope, but my gut feeling is that once he has gone no one will ever want to manage this club under the current regime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone will always want it, I imagine Mr O'Bleary would jump at the chance as would Joke Kinnear again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah right, I doubt Pardew has even made a negative comment about the situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he will stay to be sacked rather than walk without compensation. If he had any cojones he would have gone long before now.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the best job he's ever had or will have, he loves it. We should give him our full support cos he's doing he best he can. Haters can get effed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we forgetting Carrol?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 16:01:43
If we want Shane Long we better pull our finger out as Leicester have offered £7.5m for him.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

We will not but anymore players...AM and AP are happy now as soon as Barton and Jose leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see shane long at the toon i think he has all the assets to be a top player in the premiership TOON TOON

Agree0 Disagree0

Not worth 7.5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Joey Barton wants his contract paid up before he leaves £2m.
Agent talk

Believable14 Unbelievable9

He cant thats the difference between him being released and being transfer listed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Total s**te bartons on 60k to 70k a week more like 3 million and who can blame in i would just to piss the board off

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you say this cracker is worth 3 million in wages so we had a handfull of good games from him last season what about te other 3 ??jail suspensions etc give ya head a shake

Agree0 Disagree0

No doubt he'll be negotiating for a hefty bit of his contract to be paid up. However the NUFC board will wait to see who he signs for and what pay he's on. They're only obliged to pay him the difference if his new club are paying him less than NUFC were. If he's on more he gets nothing. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Friend barton pulled the same stunt on city

Agree0 Disagree0

Look person not saying he worth 3 million saying if it was you, you would want your full contract to be paid which is what he is entitled to its the law he was told he can go for free and never asked for transfer....

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him rot in the reserves

Agree0 Disagree0

Just sack him

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree but if we sack him the lma get involved and we pay is contract in full then costs its much easier hoping some one comes in and buys him then we are roughly 3 mill up.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 11:18:52
Enrique will go to pool for 6m thats it no player in return. Barton will prob just be a pain to nufc but he wont go to liverpool maybe stoke/wham/bolton or even celtic for free. (WelshToon)

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Oh aye, Celtic pay £55k a week on a 5 year contract don't they. Think it through before you start making ya guff up man. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

No way Celtic are paying Bartons wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 10:36:52
barton hinted we may stay at newcastle to see out his final years contract. sourse SSN

Believable23 Unbelievable4

Dont want him to He wont get to play so just a leech of finances Will be doing it on purpose cos he getting a good wage and wont wanna lose it The lad is showing what a liability he is Yes he played well last season but he upsetting the apple cart and should just go if he is going or shut up if he not If he worked in a factory or office he would be already gone

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, it just showed his twitter thingy and says he will may just stay where he is as its his right to do so. money is all he is after as he probs knows that not alot of clubs will put up with his attitude

{Ed042's Note - He wont stay, all mouth, sympathy votes.. if he did that would make him look very stupid and money grabbing out of spite, whats he going to do? rot away in the stands for a year? who will have him then?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I love how u r saying this about our player of the year and now u dont want him he still has the pride to wear the toon shirt and it should be ashley u want out not him

Agree0 Disagree0

I would keep him and play him At the end of the day, he is our best player by far.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems there are still many people willing to believe the club's smears. Carroll gone, Nolan gone, Barton going, Enrique going and Tiote mysteriously absent.

But no mention of a concerted attempted by the club to get rid of the better paid professionals in order to a) save on wages and b) save on them pointing out that the club is being undermined.

Who do you want to believe, Joey, Kevin, Andy, Jose or Derek Llambias and his mates in the press?

Agree0 Disagree0

Joey's anger towards the hierachy has been building up since the break up of contract talks. Can't blame him for wanting the bets for the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop kidding yourself that Barton is on some kind of righteous crusade. Same with Nolan, Carroll & Enrique. They wanted to go for more money & longer contracts. That's all. To say he wants the best for the club is at best naive. At worst plain stupid. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the SteveToon, he's being a self-righteous prick. Just trying to make himself a martyr. Most likely wants to be released from his contract so he A) Gets paid and B) Makes Ashley look even worse.

I don't like Ashley but there is no way that this saga is 100% his fault.

Agree0 Disagree0

HANG ON, WHEN WE WENT DOWN BARTON WAS ONLY PLAYER TO TAKE PAY CUT AS HE FELT TEAM HAD LET CLUB DOWN, HE ALSO WANTED A 4 YEAR CONTRACT WITH NO FINANCIAL IMPROVEMENTS...NUFF SAID

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr caps lock - Joey publically put on twitter something along the lines of - seen the new contract and didnt even offer a penny more.

So to say that he didn't want more cash is a lie unless your saying WAIT GOD FORBID JOEY BARTON MR OH SO CLEAN CUT lied ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he wanted no financial improvements. Thats why in a statement he said "it wasn't about the money" and "they wouldn't even offer me a penny more" in the same sentence.

Are you forgetting we paid him to sit in a cell? He pretty much owed us some loyalty considering how much of a f*** he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen to one thing ashley has spent no money........ simple as that where is are centre forward?? we have had since jan to sort this give yourself a bigg shake

Agree0 Disagree0

Demba Ba is a centre forward, you may or may not know this. And they will use that as an excuse not to sign someone expensive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Caps lock wasnt meant to be seen as OI SHOCK... couldnt be bothered to retype.. Just coz he mentioned 1p wasnt offered doesnt mean he wanted it.. U just worry about Oshea n other manuire £££££ grabbers

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we not all back shearer when barton was sent off at liverpool and shearer was going to kill him...barton should go now..and shut half his mouth

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one didnt back shearer, , , his "this is my club attitude" was what caused half our problems...where was he as club capt when Bobby (GRHS) got sacked for losing the dressing room..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would I worry about Sunderland players? Oh I get it, only a Mackem could insinuate that Barton isn't "St. Joey The Great" right?

Agree0 Disagree0

No one said he's a saint.... but he aint only player to do time or F up... he in my mind has or is trying his damnest to pay us all back.. Its ashley once again removing a player or as like hughton a fans favourite1

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay us all back? Like causing trouble and punching gamst pederson on the pitch? He is paying us back alright.

Agree0 Disagree0

Punching...only a tart thinks thats a punch..... how'ay man.. what u expect... one bad thing outta 2 seasons.. not bad cosidering the times he was kicked all over the place.. against wolves for example.. cant hold it against him for ever.. you were probably against the invasion in iraq toooooooooooon

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for his performances last season and I wouldn't negate that because of this situation.. But he has actually in a totally unprofessional manner.

I don't care what anybody says, mouthing off on Twitter is not the right way to go about airing your grievances. Mike Ashley EMPLOYS Barton, did he think there would be no consequences? Maybe the reaction was extreme but its his own fault.

If I got caught on twitter or facebook slagging off the owners of my company, I'd get in trouble too.

Also, the comments about Ashley forcing our best players out for the cash. Do you really think if he wanted money, Nolan and Barton would be at the top of that list?

I have respect for how he's sorted himself out, but I'm not gonna side with him just because he's on some crusade against Ashley and thinks he can say what he likes.

Agree0 Disagree0

enrique and barton will join liverpool to link up with carroll and ngog is part of the deal coming here 5 mill plus ngog for enrique

Believable9 Unbelievable21

This had better not be true I'd rather have Sammy as our number 9 than David N'Gog.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we get ngog we would be worse of, i think xisco is better than that fool. sammy is lookung good, maybe loan him out to a championship club first and then see how he goes

Agree0 Disagree0

No it wont happen, if Joey Barton wants another club with the same roots and fan structure as Newcastle then he has to consider Ipswich both were Sir Bobby's teams

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 08:18:37
Why would Barton go to a place he Hates (Liverpool) he'll go to a club where has good support and manager, totenham

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Who cares, as long as the poison leaves the club ASAP. He'll be trouble wherever he is without Nolan keeping him in line. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Wots with all this slagging off of barton of what ive heard for the last year or so hes been a model proffesional according to pardew and more recently beardsley , hes obviously been made promises which wernt kept so yous hav to blame the hierachy not barton oh how fickle yous are

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't have to be promises bud, only Bartons own expectations.
Which is likely due to what u can refer to of his past.
He's a 15 year old trapped in a 29 year olds body.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if promises werent kept why have a public slaggin match with the people signing our pay check, What he should have done is kept his mouth shut, played his heart out for the club and fans he suposidly loves and in doing so at the end of the season another club would have offered him a bumper payday to leave on a free transfer. but now anyone taking on Barton will have this in the back of there mind, I actually think the clubs done the right thing ( and i dont say that often )they have set an example to the rest of the team that discent towards the club will not be tollerated.

Agree0 Disagree0

GOOD..... we dont want the thug.. he would'nt even get a game for the blue s***e :) keep him mate. he is not welcome on merseyside.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, Its Ipswich

Agree0 Disagree0

Enrique to Lfc for 10 million

Supposedly a player exchange most likely this player will be David N'Gog and that will be our striker in a part exchange so he costs nothing and french and on low wages, it all matches up. Mind he is hopeless

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Hopeless eh . That's never stopped us before. Looks like it could be on. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds about right doesn't it, before window opened we were linked with allsorts of players, good and bad, now we're not even linked with anybody Bit worrying but never saw the Cabaye deal coming so hopefully they've got some sort of strategy in place otherwise come next may we could be booking those train tickets to scunny And nobody wants that, not even people from scunny want to go there

Agree0 Disagree0

So glad to see st james sinking ha ashley keep wearing ur safc top ur a top bloke haha

Agree0 Disagree0

He's actually on huge wages at liverpool which is why they havent offloaded him yet. CL money in the region of 45k im led to believe {Ed001's Note - correct, that is way more than anyone thinks he is worth or is willing to pay him. Though there is a chance that Liverpool will end up paying a percentage of his wages just to get rid, like they did with Jovanovic.}

Agree0 Disagree0

St James' isn't actually sinking. You may have it confused with Mexico.

Agree0 Disagree0

enrique off to liverpool for 5million lol. ftm

Believable16 Unbelievable11

It's sad how the Fat t**t Mackems (FTM) have to give themselves away with their OCD obsession about the big city club up the road. Man up son, and learn to live with it. Some people are in the parade and the others stand jealously on the pavement. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Man its sad life when you are happier about players leaving your rivals than you are about your own signings, lmao. Thats some ambition there, Sally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland fan obsessed about NUFC......now there's a change. If they spent as much time on their own club as they do ours I might take them seriously....

Agree0 Disagree0
