the toon are back in for remy as liverpool were the only champions league side in for the french striker. remy will sign for toon aslong as no other champions league clubs come in for him.

FFS he does nit want to play for Newcastle let's get someone who does

Agree12 Disagree8

We won't pay the 1415 mill for him. Simple. End of

Agree6 Disagree7

His buyout clause is on 8.5 million, and I think he'll be happy to play as long there is no champions league clubs after him. Also with the players they've bought + Remy they could push for Europe

Agree4 Disagree2

I'm pretty sure his buyout clause has been set up so that it gets higher as the clubs get nearer the same level as QPR i. e it's £8.5 million for CL clubs but £15 million for teams aiming for survival meaning we'd likely be somewhere in the middle based on last season's finnish. That being said we should absolutely go for him.

Agree2 Disagree1

After his lack of effort towards the end of the season I would say no thank you.

Agree8 Disagree3

8.5 mill! Yes have him. but it will cost 14 mill. For a player who is more interested in other clubs, let him go. Plus his wage demands seem to be a stumble block and probably puts off other teams too. Ashley certainly ain't going to fall for it.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think that Remy's admission that he asked not to play against liverpool maybe the big problem? Wenger apparently sought references and pulled out after doing so.

Agree4 Disagree0

For the money that remy would cost I. e 12-14 mill plus high wages 70+ I would much prefer hernandez from United similar fee and wage but much better attitude and would prob score at least 12 goals a season

Just a quick one, somebody asked about targets for Newcastle or if this was it for the season, so I asked and got one name given back to me as a definite target - Diafra Sakho.

I can't say I know anything about the lad, but having had a chat with a few people that do, he was apparently attracting between 15 and 20 scouts to each game he played in France's Ligue 2 last season.

I am told Everton are also interested in him though, plus there is a lot of other interest, but Metz have now admitted they are likely to lose him this summer.

Suppose names will just keep coming. and offers will be made as they have been BUT with 4 weeks to go something has to happen just hope Charnley has not been on the recent Jolly and has been doing some serious talking with Carr about a CB and Striker because if the 2 positions are not filled then recent players bought could be a waste of time

Agree10 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Sakho is a striker, Carr is the one who recommended him. Scored a lot of goals last season apparently.}

Yes we all know Carr knows his football let's hope they act & get these 2 pisitions filled & we can have a good competative season

Agree9 Disagree0

Didn't the club deny any interest in Sakho about a month ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no idea but they are defo interested.}

Papers reporting that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku are under serious consideration from Newcastle.

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Lukaku. he's obviously off to Everton. But I suppose it is a rumour page?. but let's stick to rumours with some credit? instead of what we may wish to happen.

Ed, is there anyone else that we're actually interested in buying or is that it for another few years

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the club are still seeking more players. There has been a delegation talking to Dortmund, hence the Aubameyang rumours. Though I don't know if the discussion was regarding him or not, it would make sense though.}

Where are you getting this PEA stuff from? All I've seen is Dortmund are willing to let him go and we've been linked since we tried to get him last summer.
