How funny it would it be though to see the big man back in the Toon with his tail between his legs? There is no chance we'd pay his inflated wages... he made his decision, now he has to live with it. He went from possible Toon all time legend to Liverpool striker that comes on now and again and does FA... A bit like Andy Cole when he was at Blackburn.

I find it funny people going on about how crap Carroll is then on the other hand calling him a Judas for leaving, So what is it the? 35 million was a good price we couldnt turn down or He left because he would prefer to sign for Liverpool? I think you know the answer to that one. Carroll was shipped out for Mega bucks, Be happy and show some respect for a Lad that loves Newcastle and will be back.

I actually like Andy Carroll .Unlike Nolan, Enrique and now Barton I don't ever think i have heard him slag off the club. For what its worth i don't think hes happy with Liverpool ,i think he played a game with Ashley regarding his wages and lost big time.I would love to see him back one day.

maynard from bristol city to have medical on monday morning ahead of a £5.7 million move will be a newcastle player along with roux and pieters by tuesday trust me on this one it is going to happen with defoe by wedensday

HI ,Bristol toon supporter here, rumour is that there is defo an offer from a prem club for Maynard ,trying hard to see if its toon ,really hope so as he would be great. would be gutted if another prem club got him.

just heard from my source that a deal for defoe could be back on the cards as he did not come last month as he did not care for barton but now he has gone he will make the switch put a tenner on as this will happen

Would love this to be true, Defoe is just what we need upfront proven premiership goalscorer who is quick and plays of the last defender. Surely Barton's wages would cover Defoe's. Harry likes wheeling and dealing perhaps we could persuade him to take Ranger, Smith and Best for free.

Where else would he be offered regular staring place for his England prospects. Tottenham now have Adabeyor, Crouch, Pavlochenko and Van de vaart as well as Defoe. Sturridge on loan again not in Chelski squad and thay have just signed Mata and the Belgian Kid. Surely Sturridge must be looking at Welbeck with Envy currently in Man utd team and picked for England squad. Ain't goin to happen for Sturridge unless he moves to a team that will play him every week. Come on Ashley sign Defoe and Sturridge (Sturridge on loan with option to buy like Ben Arfa). Get Peiters or and Cissisko and Santon and I think we could enjoy a good season. Need to offload Smith, Ranger, Best, Simpson and Lovenkrands.

As much as I'd love that, I highly doubt we'd sign both.

What is the deal with slating Williamson? I've seen him play loads of times for the Toon and he's made some quality appearances too and always puts in a good tackle... he's a good 3 choice centre half.

Ed, anything further on Erik Pieters? Journal and Chronicle have seemed positive the last couple of days, but not sure what the position is re the Dutch press?
