If by any chance we reach the Europa cup final, do you think Amsterdam could handle 100,000 Geordies? Tickets or not there will be an invasion.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Of course it could - I think 100k is a little on the low side though - there are surely more Geordies than that in your world !

Agree2 Disagree2

Well with us being a WORLDWIDE brand and known in all corners of the planet, i would estimate an invasion of at least 500,000. Pity the muckems will never reach european competition, they would be able to fill a mini bus PLUS a scooter judging by their poor crowds this season.

Agree6 Disagree6

500,000? are you mad? Considering that in the whole of Tyneside there are only 800,000 (men women and children) and we don't always fill St James' there is no way on earth half a million Toon fans would decend on Amsterdam. I reckon there'd be no more than 40,000 there, that's just a number pulled out of thin air but it sounds about right I reckon. When you consider we don't even sell 500,000 strips a year, not even close then you have to think, if someone is willing to pay to go to Amsterdam from wherever they are surely they're willing to buy a top?

Agree2 Disagree1

Think the point that was being made was the actual location, the fact that its Amsterdam would increase the number of away fans of any club that would reach the final. but the fact that we do generally take a large away following would also add to this number

Agree1 Disagree2

No, the point being clearly mad was that 100-500,000 toon fans would turn up. Obviously there will be more if it was in say Milan or somewhere else not on a direct travel route. 500,000, would love to see it but really??

Agree0 Disagree3

Half a million toon fans are in holland already eating those famous cakes they make and their fantastic shop eye candy in the red light zone haha

"oh I've never seen a mackem in Milan"

Chill Winston....

Or in Amsterdam, maybe mopping floors on the ferry on the way over there but nothing else.

Talksh1t Radio posted a story today saying we're interested in "Duscan Tadic" who plays for "Gronignen" in the Dutch League "Erevidse". Fits our policy and looks like a quality winger/attacking midfielder. Could be worth a shout at 6million?!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Think Dusan Tadic has just signed for Twente

Surely Chelsea will be wanting Demba now with Drogba leaving

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Good player jst dont think he will achieve a lot there, chelseas interested Liedson to replace drogba there also looking to buy Holosko

Agree1 Disagree3

Liedson must be nearly 120 yrs old

Agree6 Disagree2

The problem is if ba went to chelsea he would be a bit part player due to rotation system they have...a lot of good players went there and done nowt....duff,sidwell,etc where are they now they get sold for peanuts and end up playing for a small team at least at the toon he his treat like a GOD

Agree2 Disagree2

Demba not good enough to replace Drogba, at least in Chelski's eyes. They'll be after Falcao or Cavani.

Agree4 Disagree2

They've got Torres sat on the bench ready to replace Drogba. I know Demba's been the better player this season but from is tempory and class is permanent... still think Torres is a better striker. (Which is good for us because it makes it more likely that Demba will stay) TOONKARLOS

Agree3 Disagree0

People saying he isnt good enough for chelsea, have you already forgotten his form at the start of the season? He was better than Drogba, only just short of RVP.

Agree1 Disagree1

Done well for west ham in hand full of games and was doing real well this year until ACON came but still put a shift in on the pitch....

Agree0 Disagree1

Attitude did deteriorate though.

Agree3 Disagree2

I don't think Chelsea need another Striker? they have torres, Lukaku and sturridge, they are also looking a Hulk so Sturridge would probs drop to the bench.

Just wondered what people thought. Joe cole might be available? Him and cabaye with tiote sat in behind?!

Believable1 Unbelievable11

Far too old
moved out of Chelsea because EPL was too fast for him after injury

Agree2 Disagree1

Good player in his prime, but nowadays id have to say no thanks.
Age and wages would be a problem.

Agree4 Disagree0

Wages!!

Agree6 Disagree0

No if he couldnt make a bad Liverpool team why would we want him

Agree1 Disagree1

He'd be good, but would he be constant in the team?

Agree0 Disagree1

Wages are too high unless he,s free then ashley might sanction it...

Agree0 Disagree1

Even if he was free he is still too injury free and old

Agree3 Disagree0

Hes only like 30 thats reasonable

Agree1 Disagree1

He might be 30 but he doesn't have resale value at all.

Agree1 Disagree2

I'd take him, but that's only because of previous merits. At Chelsea he was a very good flair midfielder with a great eye for goal and a decent pass. If it were that Joe Cole we bought and not the struggling Liverpool player i'd say age wasn't an issue and wages might be. But as i said i'm not a scout, so can't think of many similar players that could do a good job in midfield to bolster what we have with Yohann and Cheick.

N'castle reportedly deciding on one of two right backs in the Portuguese league. Source: jornais de Portugal

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Agree1 Disagree2

I saw that "Dijon" got relegated from the french league "Ligue 1" this could mean we might be back in for "Benjamin Corgnet" ?!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Saw him play in the French league 2 a couple of seasons ago when I was in Dijon, he looked good.

Agree0 Disagree3

Are you disagreeing that I saw him and thought he looked good? You know me then?

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd actually gone to see Seb Ribas (I'd heard he was good) but he was terrible that night a 0-0 draw with Le Havre, gash match and around 3,000 people at the match, there was no ATM near the ground and a member of staff offered to give me 10euros for a couple of drinks, how nice was that?

Hi eds, we were linked with Jeremain Lens of PSV maybe a couple of years back. I think he's a perfect fit for us as he can play both wide and up the middle which would cover Cisse and Ba (if he stays) when they go to ACoN. Was just wondering if any of you knew if we are still interested? Thanks, great site :)

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Dries mertens is the one we want, wot a signing he would be .

Agree5 Disagree1

Mertens is sick, but cover up front would be a bonus, and from what I've seen, and I don't claim to be an expert, he's got a good eye for goal. But this was before Pards I think that we were interested so with a change of manager it might not still be a prospect.
