There are reports from French media that NUFC are on the verge of signing a young midfielder from French League 2. No names mentioned.

His brother "Amalfitano" plays for Marseille and he's quality. Let's hope his brother is just as good!

Thursday brought claims in the French press that NUFC were close to completing a pre-contract agreement for French midfielder Romain Amalfitano.

The 22 year-old currently plays for Stade De Reims but will become a free agent this summer when his two year deal at the Ligue 2 side expires.

L'Equipe assert that Amalfitano has been offered a three year deal to join the French enclave at St.James' Park.
