Reports that we are going to try and sign Gomis since he's now a free agent. However the reports are saying we may have to offer wages of up to £100k per week.
Before you dismiss this as never going to happen remember we paid Remy his ridiculous wages because we only paid a couple of million on the loan fee so because we wouldn't pay a transfer fee we may be able to put more money into his wages (I know it's unlikely but stranger things. )

The Spanish media is saying that Perez is in Newcastle to complete a medical and finalise the deal. One newspaper said that his club had given him leave to complete 'paperwork'. It's also thought that if we sign him he will be allowed to return to Spain to play with his current club until their season ends in a few weeks.

Just because h's cheap doesn't mean that's the only reason we want him.
As for Everton's interest it's nothing but speculation and just because Martinez is Spanish doesn't mean they've got a better chance than us, in case you forgot Colo' speaks Spanish and the club captain speaking your language makes just as good an impression as the Mamager speaking Spanish.
The current thinking outside of media outlets that make things up to get readers is that Perez was given the time off to agree personal terms before finishing the season with Tennerife as I said earlier.

A start we can hope a GC recommendation just like Biggy Good & a few others let's hope zuF he signs he is treat with some respect & the coach late changed before they spoil anything good and natural AND yes his is cheap because if not we were not in with a sniff
