As painful as it is for me to say this, Darren Bent is at the Nuffield tomorrow for medical with Yanga Mbiwa due in on Tiesday. Source - my wife who works there. I posted on hereabout arrivals of Tiote, HBA, Marv and Obertan beforevthey all happened...

No ones ever got anything right onthis site so it goes without saying I don't beleive you, oh sorry I forgot the eggman got anita right...del
Agree7

Medical for Remy was taking place at the freeman if he came.. So why now the nutfield.. Utter rubish
Agree3
Disagree2
Well tbh I hope your right, you can't knock his record and hopefully our fans are big enough to forget his smb days, wouldn't it make it so much sweeter if he scored the winner in next derby lol
Agree6
Disagree6
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will sign for Arsenal this week Deal Already been agreed
Ashley is seeing the Reality of his Stupidity of Not buying in the Summer like everyone else
Agree6
Disagree6
I don't get why people are so dead set against Bent. He's a proven striker and before Villa stopped playing him he was doing pretty well
Agree6
Disagree5
This is a joke, the guy is totally over rated, the only way I would say this is good business if it was for a small fee and low wages, he is on around 80k a week at villa, if he even gets close to that with us it will be a complete joke, I heard from some villa fans the reason they ate not playing him in the league is because it is a clause in his contract that they will owe the mackems more money if he reaches a certain number of premier league appearances,
Agree8
Disagree3
I don't know where our goals are going to come from, so in the absence of anybody else, I'd take Bent in a heartbeat.
Agree4
Disagree3
Rumour is arsenal are going to try and hijack the Mbiwa deal
Agree3

Erm I posted ba to chelsea 15 days before it happened

Im a newcastle fan, travel to most away games, follow the team through thick and thin! apart from at reading with pardews decision to shut up shop early, you can't really blame him for the way the team have performed! thread bare squad, prem status is bound to be threatened! however, I reckon if we DO get another 2 or 3 in then we will most certainly stay up! i'd take Bent, regardless of the SMB background, if cabaye stays fit, then you watch Bent score with the right service, a player doesn't become a BAD PLAYER overnight! Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will be a BRILLIANT addition, whether it be an addition or a replacement for colo. you can't keep an unhappy player if its for family reasons! as for other possible targets, why have we not looked at other options... jesus navas wouldn't be so expensive and I doubt he's on 100 grand a week, and other players like danny graham, nufc fan and not a half bad player in truth! I think with the right guidance and mix of players we can bag a few wins, starting with the game at villa. onwards and upwards, its the only way, we've got to fight for it! come on boys!!
Agree5
Disagree2
Whos fault is it the squad is bare ?
Agree1
Disagree0
The squad isn't bare when we have all our players available. at 1 point we had at least 12 first teamers missing if you remember... even manchester united would struggle if they had 12 first team players out injured!
Agree1
Disagree2
Ashley's fault as he wouldn't spend in the summer. Pardew can't do anything as it's not his money to spend. He can only try to convince Ashley to spend
Agree1

Total agree with navas comment, negredo players with experience and skill

Believable7
Unbelievable4
I do hope so!!!
Agree5

Where do you get this s#*#
Agree5
Disagree4
And where is this info coming from? Why we be on the verge of 2 signings and sack AP?
Agree3
Disagree3
Agree, tried to post this last night MA is not going to give him his cash to sxpent unless there is a really good chance of profit
Would be sad to see him go
More concerned with who would replace him
Agree4
Disagree6
Why do you think that, he is the next new favourite to be sacked.
PLEASE
Bring in Di Matteo/Blanc/Martinez Preferly Blanc or Martinez because Martinez likes us he said we are in a false positon players wise we should be top 8, but we are were we are.
Blanc because French flair, Di Matteo is good but I am not sure about tactics but he could win us Europa League if he used his tactics he won Chelsea the Champions League and we are in an easier competition but I don't know
Agree4
Disagree6
No chance. Just signed a massive contract. No chance we would pay him 8 years wages to sack him.
I didn't like him at first but he kin if win me over last season.
This season though negative tactics. We went for it at man united and arsenal and although we got beat we created chances and scores goals. Then we play Reading where we went 1 up then just come out 2nd half with negative tactics.
They were there for the taking could have been a good 3 points there. I'd rather get beat having a good go than being negative
Pardew is here for the long term me thinks
Sid the sexist
Agree3
Disagree4
Do you think cashley will sack him? I hope so
Agree4
Disagree4
Not a chance
Agree3
Disagree5
There are going to be a lot of jealous Chelsea fans if Di Matteo becomes our new manager.
Agree4
Disagree4
January has got to be the worst time to sack a manager. Who would want the newcastle job right now!?
We need to stick with pardew and give him the chance to keep us up and then think about a new manager in the summer when we WILL still be a premiership team.
Laudrup would be my choice.
Agree2
Disagree2
Probably end up with joe Kinnear!!
Agree4
Disagree3
Only have to pay him 1 years wages
Agree5
Disagree1
I thought I read somewhere that pardew would only get one years pay as compo if sacked. Should make him a bit easier to shift.
Agree6
Disagree0
Be expensive to sack ap, like everyone keeps saying there's new signings in hand, ashley won't let his investment slip into the championship we may be surprised.
Agree0
Disagree3
I have to be honest here, I have supported pardew all the way and still my opinion of him is more positive than negative. But I have lost a little confidence in him.I know what he said yesterday was out of order and there is no excuse for it. If he stays he has got a Lot of ass kissing to do to win the fans back. At the end of the day we pay a lot of money following the team every year so we can be forgiven for being a little p*##*# off at the moment. Things just seem to be spiralling out of control with players leaving/wanting to leave, we lost our number one transfer target to a small club and we can't seem to buy a win at the moment either. But is sacking him really going to achieve anything? Who will come in. RDM won the champs league with a multi million pound team, Martinez is used to being in the relegation zone but do we want a manager that is only used to managing a small club? Adkins, I feel sorry for the guy but common that is a sideways move at best, and Laurent blanc, he has not had a massive career but has managed at a high level already and managed some big players with ego's so out of them he would be the best option BUT he has not managed in England before. I am gutted that it is smoking to this because I really thought we were on to something with pardew. What ever happens Ashley needs to either nip the rumours in the bud or get it sorted by Tuesday and new players in by the weekend, common Ashley we have suffered enough.

5 signings possible by saturday... rumour going around that now after coates of liverpool on loan or buy then with mbiwa, haidara, bent or graham and midfielder possible....
Believable5
Unbelievable5
Coates, Mbiwa & Graham would be a dream.
Agree5
Disagree3
Coates no thanks and we need a younger and better striker.
Agree3
Disagree6
Mbiwa and Haidara possible, impact most major sight claiming fees agreed just contracts to sort (that's if old baggy eyes and his naive owner don't intervene) Darren bent is a pointless move the fans won't want that he is over rated and constantly injured and where would we play him? I will stick with cisse thanks, and Danny graham would be a good best replacement not for demba ba. We should aim higher if Ashley will finance it, which he probably won't so everything I have just wrote is pointless so we may as well just accept we will on, why bring in mediocre players.
Agree5
Disagree2
Coates is a center half not a striker, he's only 22 and good center half for uraguay and captain..
Agree3
Disagree4
Mbiwa, Haidara and Graham would be pretty good considering we only have 10 days left and the position we're in
Agree3
Disagree0
Why would villa sell to a relegation rival. Surely there best off keeping bent and paying 6 months wages then sell him to newcastle where he could damage their PL survival.
Agree3
Disagree0
Graham to replace ba? no thanks. graham would be fantastic as back up to cisse and another top striker. what's happened to cisse?

Newcastle has turned their intention on Darren Bent from Aston Villa, new number one target.
Yanga-Mbiwa expected to sign in the coming week. Haidara too.
Believable7
Unbelievable5
Darren bent is the most overpaid and rated player in the prem. can't even get in the villa team and to old 4 us!
Agree6
Disagree1
Cool - whose playing on the wing then ? Bent or Cisse ?
Agree4
Disagree1
Pardew has always said their is a list of targets and work done months before the window.
It just feels as there is no plan in place and you can't trust a thing he says - we seem to jump from target to target !!
Agree4
Disagree1
Pardew has no choice but to jump target to target as every player he wants gets offered better terms elsewhere so what can he do !
Agree2
Disagree2
Quite easy -keep quiet until signings are made then say something sensible and not continue to say what he thinks the fans want to hear only to let them down
Agree1
Disagree0
Mbiwa to Arsenal, thanks for the plane fare.

NOT SAYING THIS IS TRUE before there is lots of comments......just heard that possibly darren bent and ricky lambert..? edd is there any possibility this is anyway true.....k {Ed001's Note - Bent is possible, Villa want rid and have made his availability known to all. I have no idea on Lambert, not now with the managerial change, I don't know what the new manager intends. Certainly Southampton had begun preparing for a life without Lambert, couple of strikers in during the summer and trying to add another now, so it could be possible.}
Believable3
Unbelievable2
Not panicing then.bent is lazy and not a team player but it wouldn't suprise me if it happened after we played them
Agree2
Disagree2
Can't understand the negativity towards Darren Bent. He is a proven goalscorer not some untested french striker who may need several games to adjust to the rigours of the premier league. I for one would love him to sign if only on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Ashley won't sanction it anyway as he's on around 80k a week and nearly 29.
Agree4
Disagree4
Bent has too much respect for Sunderland to move to you lot.
Agree5
Disagree7
No one has respect for Sunderland!
Agree10

Bent could not wait to leave safc it was a well known fact.....k
Agree7
Disagree1
And bent is 28 and I think deuchy has just had a birthday to so he might be 28.....k
Agree2
Disagree0
That's why he lived in newcastle right
Agree4
Disagree0
Respect for Sunderland? Yeah he had loads of respect for them when he left them I'm the lurch. Good striker, think we should go for him.
Agree3
Disagree0
If he has too much respect for sunderland is that why he turned up to the derby with a transfer request in his pocket?
Agree3
Disagree0
He isn't going to jump one sinking ship om to another he's off back to london with fulham even cardiff are a better option than us
Agree1
Disagree1
If he's such a proven goalscorer how come he doesn't get into the Villa team? Open your eyes, he's crap.
Agree0
Disagree0
Lambert is 30 or more. I wonder how bent would fit into the system convincingly, I don't think we should be looking to replace Ba like for like with all the problems we had fitting Ba and cisse together.
Agree2
Disagree0
What happened to younger players only ?
You lot sing whatever tune you are fed.
Management are clueless.
Mbiwa to Arsenal, what a farce.
At least it wasnt QPR.

Newcastle are lining up a bid for Shane Long of about 9 million pounds. He's exactly what we need.
Believable6
Unbelievable4
9,000,000 is far too much for him. 4-5,000,000 maybe
Agree4
Disagree6
He'll be good for after we're relegated and shows the lack of ambition from the board so I guess it's possible
Agree3
Disagree1
No chance. Steve Clarke has said only Dorrans is for sale. Besides we could get better value in the french market for 9 million (nearly signed remy for 8 million).
Agree2
Disagree1
I rate him 3-4million. That's Lenny daglish valuations 9million
Agree1
Disagree1
It has to be france everyone else can see where we are heading
Agree0

Long is good to fetch off the bench, he would add depth but its not a replacement signing

Is he a leftback?

Haidara's an LB and Mbiwa's normally a CB but can play anywhere along the back line.

He's a very versatile CB, I'll be ecstatic if we get him... Something something chickens before hatching.
Agree1

No direct flight from Montpellier to Newcastle, stop over in Paris. Hopefully enough to keep Harry away.
Agree1

M'biwa can play across the back line and it looked like he was playing CDM yesterday so very versatile.
Agree0

If it happens, does this mean Stanton will move forward can we can wave adios to Jonas?

Both rubbish too onwards and downwards till pardews gone

Eds rightfully did not post my rant yesterday littered with foul words due to the performace. I cannot for the life of me understand why we have only signed one player so far. It seems we pinned everything on signing the merc remy and have no other players in mind?
We need to be signing players now not in 2 weeks time when we cannot get anyone in! {Ed002's Note - Newcastle have been putting considerable efforts in to recruitment, particularly in France.}
Believable6
Unbelievable2
Think we should stay out the French market bring in English experienced players we are in real trouble now last time we were in a battle we got relegated where as qpr villa Wigan all survived last year
Agree5
Disagree1
Danny Graham would be a good signing play up front in place of Cissie, - will get some goals as is in good form plus wants to play for Newcastle and would make a real effort ......unlike some of the existing players
Agree5

We had lots of English players when we went down last time. Didn't help

Ashley keen on loan signings and has enquired about availability of number of premier players including Dawson from spurs. looking ahead doesn't want to commit. have also made bid for crouch from stoke but knocked back considering Jones also
Believable4
Unbelievable12
Why would Tottenham loan Dawson out when he is a starting player for Spurs.
Better luck next time.

Danny Graham wants to move back north agent waiting for Newcastle before deciding his future has had no interest shown from us. wanted by 5 other clubs - could come back to haunt us if goes to other and keeps them up. he is also very keen on sunderland but their bid isn't as high as others and have said they won't get into bidding war as have other targets too he knows fans not keen on him but is good pals with few x Boro boys I got this from his cousin and move would suit him
Believable9
Unbelievable4
He is coming to sunderland, the reason he hasn't signed yet is because Swansea want K Jones in as a replacement which should happen early next week
Agree6
Disagree6
Typical sunderland fan wanting to read about us .If newcastle didn't exist I swear sunderland fans would have nothing to talk about.

After the Remy Debacle.
If we have as reports suggest had a bid accepted for Miawbi then we should already be over in Frnace tying up personal details and medicals so he can't flu over next week when he can stop off in London and be signed by Arsenal or worse still Qpr.
What are we playing at, its heres our offer, oh surprise youve accepted, One day we will get you over no hurry just turn when you like. Really shows we want thses players doesn't it.
Starting to get very worried now, posted a couple of weeks ago we needed 7 points from Norwich, Reading and Villa, so far got 1 point with Chelski and spurs up next after Villa

Well now the all these mike ashley fans saying fatty is doing a good job at newcastle? deluded fans fatty is taking us down AND takin the p1ss out of us pardews has to go

French press reporting interest from arsenal too seems like our scouting system is working more for other teams than us also reporting Ben Arfa wants move back to France
Agree7
Disagree2
Arry said he needs a CB to replace Ryan Nelsen. We're going to have to send an armed guard to escort this lad straight to Newcastle. Do not go anywhere near London.
Agree10
Disagree1
Worried now? start of season you should have worried mate you must have forgot pardew was still here. he will take us down .thats the best bet of the season
Agree6

I feel this would be a good signing, not a replacement for colo but to play alongside him, I really think we need to push for m'villa too, it proved yesterday that when cabaye went off and Anita that our reserve choices for cm are not good enough. I like bigi and he will be a good player in 3/4 years, perch we all no has on and off days but we can't afford to field players that are inconsistent at this stage. Every team should have 4 good cm players and at least 3 strikers, we have one striker (sorry but not including shola, ranger or vukic as they sre s*#*)and 3 good central midfielders. But to be honest I have no idea who we should go for in the striking department. I have to be honest none of the names been linked are doing anything for me but you never know until you give them a chance, I also think marveaux should play over jonas every week now, I like jonas but enough is enough we need actual form to come into it and not sentiment.if we are going to stay in this league we need to sign quality players, Ashley yesterday should of been the biggest kick up the arsenal for you yet.
