Ed whats the latest on the transfer situation?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed042's Note - Latest is French press have linked us with Cissokho, Lyon willing to let him go for £8m, Lyon linked with David Santon as a replacement for him who we have also been linked to in Italian media today, as for striker Maiga has been named in the squad for league game tomorrow, not sure whether that impacts our interest but they are said to want £9m for him so we`ll see on that one, for the moment would keep your eye on the two LB, see what the next few days bring.. apart from that also hope to see one if not both of the French players on trial to be signed, Darnel Situ and William Remy, might be after another reserve game though, just know Pardew said he was interested in signing both of them up}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed, good info

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds as we should be happy to get one player in now. This is just so pathetic (I donĀ“t count the french trial players)

{Ed042's Note - Dont be daft lad, never said we wernt signing a striker, just gave the latest info I know has suubstance to it, as far as the club is concerned its the same as before, we are looking to and will sign both a LB & FW by the time the window closes, and if you knew anything about the two french players, especially Situ, you wouldnt be so dismissive, besides their back up and ones for the future, suppose you dont count Vuckic, Abeid, Ferguson or Tavernier either.. sorry to be harsh lad, just dont understand negativity on a day like today, have some faith}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be on honest ed042 we only lost once in 13 games away to the scum i thought they outplayed for first 35 mins but after that we done more and i think obertan looks pacey even though its early days and cabaye dont look bad either..i personally think fat mike as the right idea just got of hope it works what do you rekon

{Ed042's Note - Think we got it wrong tactically at the start, gave Sessegnon way too much space, once we sorted that out they had no Plan B and lost their discipline completely, personally very happy with new signings and they`ll improve more and more as the games come, think after Arsenal and today Pards deserves a bit of credit, backing and patience from fans, dont think anyone knocks MA on the business side of things, as far as the transfers go im just giving benefit of the doubt to him until the window shuts and do think we will get the signings in by the 31st, a lot would disagree or be more skeptical, understandable I guess but Im happy enough once we get the right players in come September}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED042 you are so far up mike ashley's arse your coming out of his nose

{Ed042's Note - Haha this hate MA plight is getting a bit old mate, cheer up, we beat the mackems yesterday.. look i couldnt care less about the bloke, dont think even his nan loves him, but if im going to jump on the hate MA bandwagon i want proper justification for it and am willing to wait until the window shuts before I make that call, id rather do it my way, be proven wrong and then have a real reason to hate him than just hate him, be in bad form and give out sh*t every day, and be made to look a fool if im wrong, its funny how patience with a situation is seen as being a MA lover haha and before you come back with the usual "but we`ve been patient for long enough" line, whats another ten days mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

Some sad "supporters" are more interested in hating MA and AP than supporting the club... Best supporters in the world? Not by a long shot

Agree0 Disagree0

If we take even one trialists on for lb and brin in a half decent striker then im happy with the transfers made.

plus gosling (looked well decent in one friendly highlights i saw) and ben arfa back soon our squad justifies our current ambition i dare say

anyways we've got r.taylor haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed we all know ashley isnt a favourite but all this negativity from us fans is hardly gonna make any future players want to come or encourage ashley to dig deep its obvious hes got a financial plan ( and you dont become a billionaire without knowing how to make money ) i wouldnt go out my way to spend money to keep people happy who hate me would you?? he did spend money tostart with when he was liked now he doesnt you work it out. lets just see what happens and show future players we are great fans not whinging whining bas***** try and stop bitching bout ashley every 30 seconds and maybe he will repay our support to him

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ED, If it wasn't for MA our club would be dust by now, and we could of all been going to see us face Crawley Town this weekend. Everyone bemoans the fact we sold Carroll, but at £35m, more than David Villa, who wouldn't have taken the money. The new training facilities look fantastic, and i for one think that is superb. If we want to bring through youth we need to give them the best chance of making the grade, which meens a training ground to rival Arsenal, Man Utd or City. Lets face it, we all love to see kids coming through and dropping into the first team, you feel more for them than some £15m money grabber. There seems to be an urgency from people to spend big, but this doesn't always work, remember Luque, Guivarch, Maric or Hugo Bannana. Plus with big transfer fees come big wages, and with un-tested players we would be heading back to the days of the real fat controller, Boom and Bust Shepherd. We have to accept where we are and build from youth, it is the only way in the modern game, without unlimited resources. As for ' i like a jar ' Nolan, he did wonders for our club and i will be eternally grateful, but can anyone truly believe in three years time he will be still worth £50,000 a week, and then you have someone sat in the stands with his pork pie and a smile on his face, because no one will take him with those wages to play Championship Football, just look at City's wage casualties. If you don't like the look of the future go and join the Arsenal fans booing a managerial legend, and let us get on with the excitement of seeing our club becoming a youthful, entertaining and SOLVENT club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent posts every one. Found myself agreeing with both sides of conflicting arguments. Top class posting, well done......SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Some very solite points from toon fans here... If we get Cissokho and Maiga as the sun reports then i feel that a few banners to show MA that he can get a 2nd chance at a home game would do the world of good to unite the club... Would also show players such as Barton that most Toon fans just want our club to be in the headlines for the right reasons so we can curb the negativity.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the most sense I've seen from Toon keyboards in some time. We're better together Even after beating the mackems some people are still negative. Lets enjoy the season, we aren't getting relegated, we're on the up

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said people - time, at least, to give AP his dues - I, for one, think he has done an execellent job since coming in - and he has also proved that is able to adjust tactically to react to a situation - best sign of a good manager ....

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed042 "but if im going to jump on the hate MA bandwagon i want proper justification for it"

how about the constant lieing to fans (which was proved in court)

relegation to the championship

the treatment of newcastle legends keegan and shearer

need i go on?

{Ed042's Note - Listen mate I cant fill this post with an essay explanation to every little detail you pick at. I think from the responses its clear to see you are in the minority in your thinking but if you want to send me your email in a post I can get back to you when I have time}

Newcastle are involved in negotiations with Inter M Milan to sign Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Source www.footballpress.net and Ghanaweb.com

Believable7 Unbelievable24

Why another Midfielder? A replacement for Joey perhaps? Muntari is a good player who has struggled to find his form since his pompey days. He also failed to set the world alight when on loan at Sunderland. Not sure he is what we need at the moment unless we are planning to ship out some of the deadwood like Smith and Guthrie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why oh why another M.F .Striker and leftback please ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes rubbishe

Agree0 Disagree0

He's gud player but toon keep saying LB and fw

Agree0 Disagree0

The references may be correct but the original reports are made up

Agree0 Disagree0

Great Result Yesterday Let's Get Some Money Spent On A Quality Left Back Like Pieeters And Get A Decent Striker In Danny Wellbeck Would Be A Decent Signing Or Go For Agbolahnor Of Villa. Ryan Taylor You Geordie Legend

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck with that he was crap for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Another stupid maccum posti on here

Inter Milanā€™s 21 year-old full-back Davide Santon seems to be interesting Newcastle.

Believable33 Unbelievable8

Would be a great choice, but Santon is a right back not a left back. He only plays left back because the excellent Maicon is Inter's recognised right back. Would still love to see him at the club though as he is classy and miles better than Danny Simpson.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do your research the guy who replied, he has played left back and right back since the inter under 16's, he is predominantly right footed but is more than comfortable on his left, it is not just because maicon is there

Agree0 Disagree0

Would much prefer cissokho as he is left footed player wat we need but never know if danny simpson gose then you never bless him get alot of stick simpsons dose but always the prefered right back so gose to show he dose have talent are there wouldnt also be interest from other clubs in him

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats the point in discussing this? MA isnt going to pay at least £15m to get him. We wont even pay £6m for Pieters.

Anyone noticed how ineffective jonas is without a decent left behind him too busy defending

Believable18 Unbelievable13

You must not of watched the match person he was much more attacking but of course he comes back and helps the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Would have been screwed today if he wasnt playing though, mopping up Raylors mistakes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ineffective? He was the MOTM you daft person.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was the only one bringing the ball out productively, and defended well. Seemed effective to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jonas was great today, won the match winning free kick

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all the comments lads jonas covered taylors arse ...carried the ball out to good effect...deffo pen as well ...geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this clown watched the game, worked his socks off and a credit to foreigners playing in a game that really he could of hid was a credit top draw.

{Ed042's Note - Have to agree. Not his biggest fan but he done very well today, especially 2nd half. Helped out Raylor a lot and caused them problems down the left}

Agree0 Disagree0

The doom mongers got 3 lessons today
Team spirit is still high and didn't go with KN.
The big game players did stand up and be counted( Jonas,Colocinni,Barton) in contrast to the tripe Enrique put in the press.
We haven't finished adding to the squad unlike SAFC who have.
Keep the faith.

Agree0 Disagree0

What game were you watching? he earnt the freekick we scored from, and also consistantly beat his opposite player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree on Jonas. There's too much gloom amongst posters. I've been saying for weeks, you gotta enjoy the season. We've plenty good players (but need more obviously). Take no notice of money grabbers Carroll, Nolan, Enrique. They're trying to justify leaving for more money......SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

I am looking for wind ups posts from mackems but they seem awfull quiet today... Wonder why?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you thought jonas was our weakest player im sorry but your an idiot. The only reason Raylor didnt get exposed was because time and time again jonas worked his arse off. He was outstanding.

Agree0 Disagree0

Class today..and showed a bit of 8ollox.

Agree0 Disagree0

You absolute person jonas was top quality today, did what he had to, ryan taylor isnt a lb, and jonas protected him, kept the ball when needed, won free kicks to relieve the pressure at times, fair enough didnt create much, but at the same time he didnt over commit, get a sense of perspective mate

Agree0 Disagree0

You are a fool

Any news on newcastle signing bendtner? real info please. Is there any truth in the rumour of joey going to tottenham after the ongoging derby? Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable17

DidnĀ“t you see how crappy Bendtner was when coming in against Liverpool today. We do not want Bendtner IĀ“de rather take another French player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree on first reply. The Gooners hate Bendtner, they really think he's rubbish....SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't we buy Long? He scored again. Now he has scored against both Man Utd and Chelsea. Stupid f***ing Pardew and MA to let all good players pass us by

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner is livning in my kitchen

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Barndoor is good enough for us at all. Has anyone heard any further updates regarding the Nicky Maynard link? Would prefer to see him or lewis Mgugan instead. Shane Long is showing that good Championship players can cut it in the prem, so Maynard would be great as he is better than Long.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean Lewis Mcgugan the midfielder? Not sure we need anymore of those?

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with poster about Long ,2 starts 2 goals just as i expected ,knew we should of gone in for him .Trouble with M.A and co is they cant see the woods for the trees. Can we please go in for Maynard I am certain he would do a good job for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Re: long, hindsight is a wondeful thing. you'd be on here saying glad we didnt sign him if he didn't score for 1st ten games.

fact is we need players, hope we do get them in, and our good start don't make MA think we have enough of a squad.
