when other teams buy, I can see Villa putting in a bid for Charlie Austin and Roma/chelsea for Mitrovic
and we will be left with Carlton Bent and Darren Cole

{Ed002's Note - NU made offers for both players - as did the clubs you mention. It is just the same, I am not sure why you don't understand that - are you a Liverpool supporter?}

Time Newcastle do not have time
Ashley has created a 2nd rate club and players
do not want to buy into the Circus.

The people trying to buy players are amateurs
After the next 2 friendlies we will see the panic start

Ed when did Newcastle put in a bid for Austin

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A couple of days ago - Wednesday I think - but it was not accepted.}

how large was the bid? did it surpass Leicester's £12m?
Why has it not been reported in media? Surely QPR would leak this info to try and start an auction for the player.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The bid, like the one from Leicester was not accepted and QPR has stated there have been no acceptable bids. "Leaking" things to the press do not get auctions going - it is simply not how things work. I expect a second bid from Newcastle but I am not so sure the player will be making an early decision.}

apparently the initial bid was 10m up front with add ons for appearances. Concerns on the injury front but also a misplaced sense of leverage. The club can't understand why the price is so high when QPR have been relegated and Austin can leave for free in 2016. QPR rightly believe Austins goals can help get straight back up, meaning they will benefit from the 80 tv revenue.

This deal won't happen and charnley needs to focus on other targets.

If Mitrovitch won't commit, we need to ditch him and move on. If we stand still waiting, we may as well be moving backwards.

It's his dad who's standing in the way of the deal. No hate should be thrown towards Mitrovic, he wants to come (said he was a Newcastle supporter when he had an interview at partizan), his dad wants more money for him though

The player is who signs the contract not his Dad
Wages he wants 40/50 K a week we have offered 27k

17 Jul 2015 20:30:51
we offered 27k after tax, it looks like Mitrovich's old man wants to live the high life

17 Jul 2015 21:30:14
has anyone told his dad that 27k a week in neecastle is worth about 75k a week in london?

18 Jul 2015 08:24:44

hi Ed, do you know what is happening with Mitrovic and the deadline he was supposedly given?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Mitrovic is still considering his options - "deadlines" really don't help, particularly if the player has different aspirations. As I have said all along, Newcastle are an unlikely option, unless it is a stepping stone, but they remain the keenest. But it would still be a bit of a surprise if he headed there. Consideration of other options has to include game time - of which Newcastle will offer him more.}
