Nicky Maynard 4.5 bid.- Bristol city offered Leon Best or Nile Ranger as part of deal.
Best turns the deal down as does Ranger.
Fee could rise to 5.8 million with sell on clause.

Source-journalist within The Bristol Evening Post.

currently topic of discussion on various BC football forums

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Would be a good signing .. pacey young striker with an eye for goal however i just don't see it happening

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maynard is a cracking player but im afraid theres nearly no truth in the rumour his value was apparently checked but considered a bit of a gamble NUFC being linked with virtually every striker going at the min coz everyone knows Pardew is desparate to tie one up by the 5under1and game

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see this being true but I remember the season why played bristol away and maynard ripped us apart and scored a screamer

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Cole came from Bristol City need I say anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

Prefer to see ranger go than best. At least best can score for us rather than that thug ranger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chopra in the making, good in the championship but not good at premiership level, give the lad a chance though but if this is the striker you signing when you play us on saturday then I'll p*ss meself laughingHAHA

bendtner anyone knows anything about, it is true that it has signed for Stoke City?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I dont know anything concrete but i would say that i do not think stoke matches the level of ambition he has

Agree0 Disagree0

Derek llambas has admitted he has got no intrest in signing bendtner atall.

Erik Pieters arrive by 7 million and 35 000 euros a week, Pardew could send Tim Krul to PSV as part of the agreement.
if he leaves to PSV Krul would be a great stupidity by Pardew.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Krul is our number 1 and i can guarentee that will not happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be ridiculous krul is our first choice keeper who proved his ability on Saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

Considering krul and pieters are really good friends and part the reason for pieters maybe signing was the fact that krul was at newcastle so no way would krul go in the other way kurl would be kept if he is signed because it would help pieters settle in quicker

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not going to happen... it's Krul thats been pushing Erik to come to the toon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance on Krul going to PSV as PSV is all but signed Tyton from Roda Kerkrade.

Agree0 Disagree0

Talk sense mate krul not going no where

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim krul wont leave, pardew has gave him the number one spot has he not? after working so hard to get it, do you really think he would let him go? no is the answer

Agree0 Disagree0

PSV have 3 keepers already

Agree0 Disagree0

Krul is number 1 this season hardly likely to be a make weight in any deal ".......... Think about it

Agree0 Disagree0

PSV would have krul but we wont be letting him go

Ed any truth to these Maynard rumours?
Personally think he's exactly the type of striker we need.

{Ed042's Note - Cant find anything concrete to back it up, been rumoured on a few bristol city sites too, still looking but doubtful for the moment.. yeah actually think hes a good talent myself, very quick, good goal record}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Nicky Maynard would br a good signing for us, would complement our ever increasing compliment of big centre forwards, very quick and prolific

reported that newcastle have bid for maynard from bristol for 4.5million plus leon best what do you think?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

15 Aug 2011 20:37:36
Alright Ed, hope your well.
Do you know anything about Jay Rodriguez from Burnley. Seemingly we had someone watching him of late. Hope this is not the case. Really want an already established striker- if we only buy one Get a youngster/ up and coming striker for the bench to replace Lovenkrands..or Best...or Ameobi...or Ranger.
Psycho

{Ed042's Note - Have read a couple of things about him been linked, think its BS tbh, cant find anything to back it up}

Believable1 Unbelievable7

15 Aug 2011 19:17:51
Talk down in Bristol you are about to make aoffer for maynard. Any truth gents??

Believable7 Unbelievable13

He was useless against cardiff

Agree0 Disagree0

Has maynard got any pace ?

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you rate him compared to andy cole

pardew wants kirk broadfoot from rangers as part of a deal with leon best going other way

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Kb would do a turn at rb watched 4 scotland and in europe with rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Broadfoot is rubbish, totally rubbish He'd get shown up in the EPL week after week, if he got a game that is

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally not up to EPL standard. If AP is really looking at this quality then we are in deep doodoo

what's this rumour resurfacing on undeniable twitter re smith imminent signing for lufc? thought that was dead due to wages??

Should have said unreliable fricking predictive iPhone text but seriously KB is tight can't see it myself

Man U apparantly offering macheda and diouf on loan. Ed wat you rekon?

{Ed042's Note - Apparently we are not interested, SAF always looks for loan deals to get a lot of football too, would take one, probably Macheda}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

I'd take either of them on loan. Both have raw talent to be developed and they could help us out a lot this season.

Thought Macheda was off to Italy on loan earlier in the window? And how come Pardew is so chummy with SAF? Not that it's a bad thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take macheda in a heart beat

Lyon defender Aly Cissokho, according to reports in Paris.
Alan Pardew is in the hunt for a new left-back following Jose Enrique's departure to Liverpool earlier this month and has identified Cissokho as his first-choice replacement.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Lyon all summer and was wanted by Liverpool before they completed the signing of Enrique.
But now it has been reported that Newcastle are lining up an £8m offer for Cissokho, who has made no secret of his desire to try his hand in English football.
The left-back would become Pardew's fifth French signing of the summer
ed is there any tuth in this? he is a great left back. it was on the talk sport webiste

{Ed042's Note - There is, has wanted away all summer, fans and certain backroom staff said to be not too pleased with him, would be shocked if we pulled it off though, Pieters deal much more likely}

Believable10 Unbelievable3

ED not too pleased with him why????/

{Ed042's Note - Because of his attitude around the club, looking to leave etc.. still a huge talent though so want to hang on to him if at all possible, reason Liverpool didnt get him I think}

Ed any news on the striker situation?
Has the stuff about Maiga got something in it?

{Ed042's Note - Definite bid made, was rejected by Sochaux though, player is trying to force a move now, thats the latest, could drag out a bit, hopefully not}

Believable13 Unbelievable0

What type of striker is he?
I havent seen him play so do you know what type of player he is?

{Ed042's Note - Big lad, very good in the air, decent left peg, versatile enough, can play on wings or support striker as well as top man, goal ratio of around 1 every 2.5 games, work rate is the only thing I wasnt too impressed with from seeing him last season, has potential alright mate, still a bit of a risk, suppose any young foreign striker is though}

Agree0 Disagree0

Worth a risk No way.... After watching the arsenal game we need a top quality proven goalscorer... Not some unheard of young lad who can only score a goal every 2.5 games in a mickey mouse division standard no where near the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

This is panic buying, bloke is no better than what we have so would be a waste of £8m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed, just one more question, is he quick?
because i think we all know ideally we need a quick pacey striker to partner Ba/Best/Ameobi.

{Ed042's Note - Not the quickest tbh, no quicker than Best or Ameobi}

Agree0 Disagree0

So why go for a shola clone No pave then why even bother... Pace pace pace Christ it's not rocket science, watching ba and shola on sat was awful

Agree0 Disagree0

Pace is what we need now yet we're only linked with very tall players. Damn you AVB selfishly keeping sturridge away from first team football. lol. odemwingie is exactly the sort of player we need, dangle 4.5mill in WBA face and we might get odemwingie. Opinions?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly when he cost them nearer 9mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Was apparently very impressive last season and i have trust in graham carr's scouting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley only getting players with long names now due to the fact it cost more to get there names on back of shirt lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Watching Strola and ba against arsenal was painful and tbh this lads not any better than ba the only thing maiga is good at is scoring headers i watched him when he played for le mans and he was useless

Agree0 Disagree0

His strike partner Brown Ideye would be a much better buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ideye Brown signed for Dynamo Kiev last month...and is absolutely blistering in the Ukraine league

Modibo Maiga and Erik Pieters, £7 million each, are expected to sign this week. Maiga refused to play for Sochaux in order to force a move to Newcastle and Pieters should sign after his grandmothers funeral.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Maiga refused to play in order to force a move TO Newcastle, the guy must be on drugs

Agree0 Disagree0

Modibo Maiga,,, given ive only seen anything on him on you tube but to me he plays like a younger strolla... i was kinda hoping he would be electric pace but it didn't seem that way on the clips i watched..
SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Whens her funeral next week knowing wor luck

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read her cremation is today

Agree0 Disagree0

When's the funeral show some respect you
Tit

{Ed042's Note - Its supposed to be today mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like a slower version of Sammy Ameobi to me, not what we need at all, especially with his attitude for his current club.
Stop messing about and get Bentdner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Knew you would'nt put my post on have to ask ED where you from ?

{Ed042's Note - Any further posts containing abuse are not going up on this one lads, your last post wasnt deleted its still in the queue, but will be.. the original post is about two possible player signings, not funerals}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner all the way for me

Agree0 Disagree0

People should show respect, maybe you dont no what its like to lose a family member, so dont go slagging

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy that was on about his attitude to his club HBA did the same thing

{Ed042's Note - True mate he did. Personally my only concern would be HBA is an exceptional talent, was worth the hassle regardless, not sure this guy is, may be wrong}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a journalist and mates with a lot of the lads from sky sports and they're telling me that credible sources are making noises regarding an £8million bid for hugo rodallega. They were interested in Modibo Maiga however Sochaux refuse to sell and now Pardew has convinced the board to move for Rodallega. Erik Pieters is set to sign this week also.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Rodallega will be great signing.. strong powerful and quick.. holds up ball well... ideal partner for when ba settles... if pieters signs too... all in all a good squad espec when HBA is back, gosling fit and cayaba settled..toon army

Robbie Keane going to LA in £1.8m deal.

he wouldn't be my 1st choice, but at this price, we should be all over this deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Totally agreed, but LA Galaxy will probably offer him ridiculous wages that we could never match.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why, do you want him. He's done nothing for 3 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also isn't like 31/32.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was still able to cut it in the Prem 'arry would be hanging onto him.

I don't think he'd have made a good signing for us.

I don't think he'll end up at Galaxy either, I wouldn't be surprised if the SMBs made a move for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great, then we can have the strikers who took West Ham down. Think it through will you. Debs Ba's bad enough, but a has been like Keane to accompany him would be pure folly........ Steve Toon

Agree0 Disagree0

He's scored 6 goals in 5 games for Ireland so far this year.

Maybe it was the rest of the West Ham team that were crap. You can't rely on two players to keep a bad team up. They barely even played anyway.

He's off to Galaxy now so it doesn't really matter either way.

Agree0 Disagree0

60 000 a week for a bench warmer not good business at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Alan Pardew said Barton to stay at Newcastle and that there will be two more signings before the game against sunderland.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

He also said carroll was not leaving...we are continuing talks with nolan...enrique situation is very positive...the man is a habitual LIAR...

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2011 02:07:24
Im hoping we get Bendtner. I think he's got a lot to prove. If he has any sense he will see that we are a club crying out for someone who can score goals and that should do his ego no end of good. He has just about enough arrogance about him to wear that number 9 shirt and enough of the skill to do it justice. I just hope he see's the benefit of proving himself in this league with a fan base who will idolise him if he does well over earning a few extra thousand a week.

anybody fancy bellamy on loan

Believable11 Unbelievable13

Would have him in a heartbeat, not a chance of getting him though, disappointing as that is

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather we bough someone, though he would do a job if we could get him as a last resort. Cant see it though unless Man City stump half his wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

God no Didnt you read what that little sob said about NUFC?

Agree0 Disagree0

Having him and barton in the same team is asking for disatear. the earth would probably implode

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't even score in the championship last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't touch the gobrubbishe

Agree0 Disagree0

Would absolutely LOVE him to come back and play for us, yeah he's a gobrubbishe but who gives a F8ck, thats what makes things entertaining............ and we've got a few midfielders with a keen eye for a through ball now, i don't think there is anyone better at beating the offside trap

{Ed042's Note - Haha really? like the lad but think hes the only forward ive ever seen be offside more than Inzaghi}

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get me wrong ed like he get's pulled up alot BUT, considering the amount of times a game he can burst through i reckon its not a bad ratio...... players like him don't come around too often, and defenders just don't know how to deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Bellamy and Barton in the same team? Recipe for disaster
