Nicky Maynard 4.5 bid.- Bristol city offered Leon Best or Nile Ranger as part of deal.
Best turns the deal down as does Ranger.
Fee could rise to 5.8 million with sell on clause.

Maynard is a cracking player but im afraid theres nearly no truth in the rumour his value was apparently checked but considered a bit of a gamble NUFC being linked with virtually every striker going at the min coz everyone knows Pardew is desparate to tie one up by the 5under1and game

Erik Pieters arrive by 7 million and 35 000 euros a week, Pardew could send Tim Krul to PSV as part of the agreement.
if he leaves to PSV Krul would be a great stupidity by Pardew.

Krul is our number 1 and i can guarentee that will not happen

Don't be ridiculous krul is our first choice keeper who proved his ability on Saturday

Considering krul and pieters are really good friends and part the reason for pieters maybe signing was the fact that krul was at newcastle so no way would krul go in the other way kurl would be kept if he is signed because it would help pieters settle in quicker

Lyon defender Aly Cissokho, according to reports in Paris.
Alan Pardew is in the hunt for a new left-back following Jose Enrique's departure to Liverpool earlier this month and has identified Cissokho as his first-choice replacement.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Lyon all summer and was wanted by Liverpool before they completed the signing of Enrique.
But now it has been reported that Newcastle are lining up an £8m offer for Cissokho, who has made no secret of his desire to try his hand in English football.
The left-back would become Pardew's fifth French signing of the summer
