The reason Hughton was sacked all came down to the signing of Campbell (highest earner at club and past his best) Ashely was ready to sack him earlier than he did but waited for series of bad results - check form around sacking
Anyway, Pardew had been at three of our games prior to appointment and has been deciding on transfer targets ever since - four players are 90% signed but if anyone is realistic untill at press conference with shirt on no deal is final
Players due in are Larson on a bosman free, N'Zogbia fee in excess of five million (other clubs interest may push this up), Christopher Samba fee likely to be £4m+ and unbeliveably Didier Drogba for a realistic £7m good return for Chelsea and will provide replacement for Carroll in the short term
Newcastle won't sign players like Gervinho etc as they want European football but the four we are due to sign would make squad stronger

alan pards to start using the youth in his side like phil airey, sammy ameobi etc also harper to retire with in the next 3 years due to injurys and tim kurl doing very well (i think he has brill in goal when we have needed him) also i hear gateshead are to become a feeder club untill they make it into the league.

Newcastle set for a triple raid on Tottenham as Redknapp looks to cut down on the wage bill after missing out on the Champions League. The magpies are rumoured to be considering approaches for strike pair Jermaine Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko as well as keeping tabs on on-loan duo Jamie O'hara and David Bentley. O'hara is said to be happy at Wolves but would be unlikely to remain at Molineux should they get relegated. Bentley is unlikely to want to remain at Birmingham as his appearances have been restricted and he is after first team football. Wilson Palacios is another potential target as lack of game time at Spurs may mean the combative midfielder is seeking an exit.

Pardew has been keeping tags on leroy leita down at boro. He has been very impressed with the end of season form of this player who he has previously been keen on.
I have also heard from a pretty reliable source that newcastle are hoping to bring in robbie keen with the money from carroll. Pardew believes he has the experience we lack up top and will bring on the young strikers at the club.

Well i think Parker is a similar player to Tiote but only half as good so no thanks. Why let Nolan go? Scores more in a season than Parker has in 6 seasons, plus Nolan signing new contract this week. NO NO, the Biggest thing what Pardew and Ashley have to do is sign at least two quality strikers and get rid of Ameobi and Lovenkrands, send Ranger out on loan for a couple of seasons and keep Best as back up. Put Steven Taylor alongside Colo and use Williamson as back up with another ctre back brought in too. If Enrique is wanting out, let him go and bring a top class replacement in.

I have heard that Newcastle are in talks with West Ham about the return of Parker to Newcastle.
It would also pave the way for Nolan away from the club.
Apparently Klose from Bayern is also being looked at by Newcastle but the wages that he is paid at the moment could be a problem.
There was talk last year of bringing in a Toni Kroos (unsure of spelling or who he is) but have not heard anymore. Does anyone think that this sound likely and would these be the kind of players that we would want at the club. I would like to see Newcastle bring in a good strong center forward but we always end up getting let down.

Can see this being a total letdown summer transfer window. We will get mostly free transfer and cheap lower lge players. I watched Graham (Watford) when he played for Carlisle. Forlan is available for around 8-10 million, old but good and fallen out with manager at athletico. not a bad option, Looking at a lot of players from the dutch league Wijnaldum, Siem and Luuk de Jong, Dzsudzsak and Ron Vlaar being looked at, hopefully be as succesfull as Tiote. like i said this is just a wish list but i think the formula for us this season should be to sign players with english league experience and not foreign crap imports who takes loads of wages and end up crap like boumsong, luque, marcellino, maric, guivarch, tomasson etc. Players who couldnt cut it in the premiership because of the speed of the game and the physicality

Ed - is there any fresh news? {Ed001's Note - only thing I have heard recently, that I can think of, is that you have someone at the game tonight. I was told it was most likely to be one of the two ex-Crewe lads playing for Derby you are scouting, Brayford and Bailey. But that is conjecture rather than a definite knowledge of which players you are watching.}

Ed any ideas about the players that Pardew is said to be in contact with? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of anyone been contacted yet, though rumours abound that Upson is a target and has been sounded out.}

Ed; newcastle interested in signing sebastien bassong of tottenham and jonathan pitropia of hamburg, is true? {Ed001's Note - they are of interest I hear, but they are just two of a number of players the club is looking at, I was told Bassong would have joined in January if Spurs hadn't had so many injuries. Though I am not sure how true that is.}

I reckon we're aiming for the 3 Swedes out of contract at the end of the season - Seb Larsson, Johan Elmander and Oscar Wendt. Larsson would be deployed as a right winger, Elmander would make a great replacement for Carroll (Ameobi's too inconsistent, Best is just not good enough). Wendt would be good back up for Enrique, or if the worst happens and Jose leaves, we just need to sign another left back. In addition to these lads, another centre back (for cover) would be nice. Meanwhile, we'd get rid of Lovenkrands, Perch, Smith, Best.

Newcastle in deep talk with s.larrson which i hear will go thru and he be the 1st player thru the door when the summer transfer window opens. K.gamerio has resurfaced but alot of clubs will want him think he'll go to athletico mad. Hey newcastle fans im a chelsea supporter but i also quite like watford in the championship and they have a really good striker called grahem who has scored 29 goals in all competions so far this season. Its almost certain that watford won't get promoted but i would like to see him in the prem and i think he would be a good replacement for carroll for you. I think you could get him for around 7 million. Would any of you want to see him playing in black and white next season?
