@Ed020. Anymore on the Bangura duo, they both claim that Newcastle want them, but I heard Mohhamed Bangura has been the subject of a bid from Locomotiv Moscow. Do you think that, in a few years obviously, they will be good players for the TOON?

To be honest, I'm not really too sure what to think about Erdinc... I think that personally, I would rather sign one proven, world class, young, with the potential to get better in the future, than two strikers costing 5mill each that will only score 10 goals a season. What do you think?

{Ed020's Note - Its a tricky one. The Banguras will say we are after them just to attract interest - one of the many games players like to play in the Transfer window. And you're right Moscow did bid for him. We've been tracking them for a while now though. As for Erdinc, I rate him...he's what we need. So many times I've seen our strikers waste chances. You cant do that in the PL and Erdinc is a natural finisher. He has 10m euro buy out clause and for me, he's worth that (About £8.5m)}

Ed20 - Have the club actually came out and stated we arent going for Sturridge? Or is it journalists making headlines? I know he will cost a wedge but he is just what Newcastle need and is what the fans want. Even with a supposed 35 million to spend, Ashley should still give a transfer kitty on top (if we didnt have the 35 million, he would have had to put money in anyway?). I'm pleased with the signings so far however we are really lacking in the striking department. Need another 2 strikers without doubt. Some things I agree with how Ashley runs things, others I do not agree with. I'm hoping Pardews comments today are just bare minimum he would settle for. I think we will have about 5 targets, but we won't get them all hence Pardew stating a further 2 more.

{Ed020's Note - Hi mate, I understand that somebody within the club said we arent interested. Then the journalists blew it way up! Teams like to keep transfers on the low so it may be a cover up. It's all cat and mouse at this stage. Ashley did say he would "re-invest" the 35m...basically he stuck it in his back pocket and laughed. Have to wait and see mate}

{Ed020's Note - Menez was never really going to happen just rumours. As for Barnetta its all gone very quiet. This may be a good thing as transfers are often kept on the low. Look at Tiote, Cabaye, Marveux Ben Arfa etc. We heard nothing until the day they were anncounced}

Ed20. totally agree with you about a striker being needed maybe 2 could also do with a couple of top defenders or at least some no nonsense one who can actually hold their own midfield all but covered which is a bonus so im thinking 4 more players of a certain standard and NUFc have the making of a good looking squad

this is very poor news for parsdew to live up to what he PROMISED we will have to be buying N'zogbia £10mil and a £15mil striker anyones guess really but gotta be honest surely that 1 or 2 will surely depend on who leaves and how people look in pre-season (last chance saloon for several especially Ranger) if he impresses hell be loaned out not sold

Come on guys lets face it MA is not going to lay out any money for players. He is only going to spend what he gets in. The "£35million re-investment" means he has put it in his pocket. If we are lucky we will sell Ranger and Best for around £1.5m and £3 million and we will buy a Striker for that. Pardew has said "we will get 1 or 2 more" then added "whether they will wear the number 9 shirt remains to be seen". This means "we are NOT buying a top striker"

ED have you got any knowledge on the Sturridge situation?
Heard off a couple of people that we are close to agreeing a deal and that we are trying to keep it quiet.

{Ed020's Note - The last I heard was that it wasn't going to happen at all. Somebody from inside the club reportedly said he wasn't a target. I for one hope that's not true he's the type of player we need. Especially as Stoke kicked the bidding off at a measly 6m}

Pardew told the local Newcastle local press today:

We re all looking forward to getting back to work next Monday. The squad is looking healthy and, hopefully, there are still one or two to come.

They won t be in before July 4, but we hope to get one in before the tour of America and there could well be one after the tour.

We are still looking to get another striker whether or not they will wear No 9, we will have to see.

-I hope theres more than 2 to come in. We need another 2 proven goalscorers Linked on Talksport with Barry Ferguson, probaly aload of rubbish- hopefully.

danny ings is now either going to nufc or liverpool but they have al lot more forwards than us and may go to nufc for playing time. if he dous sign i would put money that he would score more goals than wickham. . -DP

This is not false. My mate works at Birmingham FC and he is saying that Birmingham manager Chris Hughton wants to sign striker Peter Lovenkrands. Lovenkrands was fantastic in Newcastle's promotion winning season scorin 13 league goals and 17 in all competitions in less than 25 appearance for Toons. Chris will definately sign him as he thinks he will provide major boost in Blues attacking line up and could prove X-factor. Remember Hughton brought him back at Newcastle for second spell.
Do we want Lovenkrands to depart? He is not bad. scored 6 league goals and could be used as good impact palyer. plz comment

Word up here in Glasgow that Lovenkrands is still on Rangers radar. Also strong rumour that Barry Ferguson is on his way to the Toon. .

We had Ignacio (Nacho) Gonzalez on loan a couple of years ago, different player he was from Uruguay.

Lucho is an argie, played in Argentina, Portugal and now France, however I agree that it is probably just paper talk as he is late twenties and an established european player so would demand fairly high wages. . out of our league anyway.

{Ed020's Note - His age concerns me to be honest, not what Ashley is after by the sounds of it. Great player without a doubt but it's unlikely. As for Erdinc there have been no new devolopments as far as I'm aware. The PSG bid for 31m + Hazard was the French media trying to spark extra intrest so it looks like we are still in the drivers seat. International window opens tomorrow so expect more info as of July 1st}

France Football is reporrting that we have expressed an interest in L'OM (Marseille) Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez, along with about 6 other clubs including Chelsea, Lucho played under Villas-Boas at Porto.
