Frank de Boer has responded to being linked with Newcastle by saying "I am honoured by the interest from Newcastle United, but for the next six months I am only focusing on Ajax"
Hinting at a possible move?

As much as I think he would be a great coach for us I hope we do not hold out till the summer for him unless we have a pre-contract signed otherwise we will not get him as I am convinced he will end up at Barcelona next season. Given a choice between coaching a team of incredible players albeit at a club that will still have a transfer embargo, or one with a team of average players at a club that has an apparent transfer embargo due to the ridiculous bloke who owns the club which would you choose.

a paper is reporting Newcastle have six names on their shortlist of potential managers: St Etienne boss Christophe Galtier, ex-Lyon manager Remi Garde, Borussia Monchengladbach's Lucien Favre, former Mainz boss Thomas Tuchel, ex-Stuttgart manager Bruno Labaddia and Real Madrid assistant Paul Clement.
If this is true I'd be happy with any one of them. Imagine their delight at having the amoebi brothers to coach! Shola is on his way back apparently

Although Tuchel is my preference, he and Garde worry me that they've needed to take time out of their relatively early management careers for personal reasons. It wil be ten times worst than they've ever experienced before in Newcastle.
